I plan on going for a walk in a little bit and then going to work. He plans on having no plans (that is pretty much his plan for the entire summer — though he will do lots of bike-riding and prep for the next school year).
Throw a nap… Makes me think of nap parties. A whole crowd of Boo Tribbers sitting around the coffee cart on big cushy lounges and napping quietly with iced tea and lemonade nearby for the wakeup.
Anybody still here? It’s a beautiful cloudy day in Western Wisconsin with highs expected in the upper 70s – Yay! Sitting on my back porch looking out over the park and blogging in a silk robe. Definitely a nice way to start the morning. Soon I will have to put on clothes and get some writing done, but for the moment I’m just lounging and thinking of tea. If I’m very lucky Dr.Mc. is making some right now.
Fantasy Tea: Precious Eyebrows (also called China Moon Palace or Chun Mee). This stuff is lovely, and I say that from experience – very mild and slightly fruity.
Hey there KMc …sounds like a great day shaping up there in WI… sunny and 73 here, supposed to get to about 85, but no chances of rain. So that means I’ll be out watering again tonight after work <sigh> Lots of new stuff coming into bloom the past few days, so hope to get some more pics done if the sun holds out when I get home.
Howdy all you folks… Andi, FM, CG, KB, O-Livia, Omir, and anybody I forgot (just got my coffee here!) Stuck in my cubicell again with a bright sky outside, the usual boring stuff, lol.
Hope everyone has a great day, slackerly or otherwise. And FM, do try to work at least a small nap in there today … I’m sure George would agree to that.
Our flowers are just really beginning to pop. This week we got roses, chedder pinks, spiderwort, alyssum, Siberian Iris, and catmint. Before that we only had bleeding hearts and creeping phlox. The annuals went in yesterday and we had to expand the bed because our eyes were bigger than our plantings.
Hi everyone, I need some help from some of the handy people on Booman. My son left his dewalt cordless drill for me to use in a small project today and Ihave a problem, there was no bit in it so I am trying to put one in, but I can’t get it in right, so that it stays.
Can anyone give me a quick lesson on that..I would greatly appreciate that.
Diane do you have a bit key. I’m not sure I understand you question, but you’ll have to have the bit key to tighten the bit. Check in the handle or box and see if you have one.
No bit key on these, I think I got it in, haven’t tested it yet to see if it holds, but this drill is one where you hold one of the bands on the end, while in reverse I guess, and then it tightens, tried it with bare hands and it burned my fingers as I guess I am not that strong these days. I have seen him do it and it seems easy but I am used to the old fashioned drills with the key.
my Milwaukee drill is keyless. The “chuck” is the part that holds the drill bit.
As you point the drill to the sky with the drill bit in the chuck, hold the chuck in your left hand and with your right hand you hold the pistol grip of the drill with your finger on the trigger.
As you pull the trigger and the chuck revovles suddenly grip and then release the chuck with the left hand. Repeat as necessary.
My chuck tightens by spinning in the “forward” position. I would expect all chucks to tighten in the forward position to prevent loosening of the bit during operation.
I would recommend wearing a leather glove or any thin glove to protect skin on the left hand if it is not already conditioned to this sort of abuse.
motivational energy levels are a tad low, but the sun is shining, temp about 70F, looks to be a beautiful day.
I’m writing up a material list for a trip to the lumber yard, 20 miles away. No traffic problems though, ha, I expect to meet less than ten vehicles on the way there.
BTW I have a great recipe for ice cream making. However, I’ll have to make a call for that and get it to you later. The last several years we’ve made ice cream in a Waring brand Frozen Dessert Maker. The coolent is in the walls of the kettle so you put the kettle part in the freezer for a couple of days, then assemble motor to kettle, pour liquids in while motor turns paddles.
If you pour liquids in first it just freezes to the inside walls, and you’re fkd.
maryb got a kick out the fact we’ve still got a hand cranking ice cream maker around here, somewhere…
Been up since about 7ish; I really do need more than 4-5 hours of sleep per night, but my hormones have other ideas… 🙁
Spouse actually made the bed without being asked…he’s being a good boy today. 🙂 He’s taking the car in for some minor work, which gives me a few hours of much needed alone time.
Trying to find an item (link) for the trip — might run over to REI and see if they have it; it looks quite cool. 🙂 Other than that, we’re pretty much set gearwise.
So far today I haven’t had a nap, the cable went out and the air conditioner went on the fritz again.
The first I can take care of, the second nothing I can do and the last, the AC people just left. So I don’t have to worry about keeping cool. Just the extra bills. 🙁
Good Morning Andi. You’re up awful early aren’t you?
I just got the cart rolling a bit earlier.
But you’re up really early. And I saw you stayed up later than usual. Are you sleeping okay?
Thanks for asking. Nope I’m having one of my insomnia nights. They are kind of rare, but still do surface every now and then.
You and Jim got big plans for today?
I plan on going for a walk in a little bit and then going to work. He plans on having no plans (that is pretty much his plan for the entire summer — though he will do lots of bike-riding and prep for the next school year).
Poor Jim, it must be driving him crazy to have all this free time. 🙂
Hi FamilyMan & Andi,
Have you been up since 3 this morning? Or did I miss read that?
I think it’s the time zone thing…how are you today, kb?
Morning CG. How’re you today?
Fine, terrified, but fine.
Hi KB. No you didn’t misread, I’ve been up all night.
Sad to say it wasn’t from partying or drinking beer. 🙁
How’re you doing today?
Up all night! Oh, dear. Did you at least have something good to read?
I’ve got my morning stuff written at Eat4Today. And I’m trying to control my terror.
Other than that, I’m fine.
You’ll do fine. I forgot the wording, but take Ductape’s advice about talking to crowds.
Last night was more of a cleaning and straightening night. Whenever I get a night like last night, I get up and do things around the house.
on to all of us and we’ll worry for you while you go on and do the great job that you are undoubtedly going to do.
What Andi said and double that.
(Whew!)
I’ve passed it along. And I can feel the difference already…
It was quite a load.
(are you sure you want to keep it?) Thanks, Andi and FM!
Maybe I’ll get dressed. . .
sounds like a great plan. I heartily recommend it as a course of action when doing public speaking. 🙂
What’s everybody doing up at 3 in the morning?
Me, I know what I was doing, but I”m done and I’m going back to sleep. Catch y’all later.
How’re doing Omir, see ya later.
Another muggy day here in SE PA…field day at school for CBtY.
Did you ever want some cool weather so you could lay back and relax.
Are you the one in the front, FM? He looks like he needs the TV remote in his paw. 🙂
Now can you imagine me in any other mode. 🙂
Slack whenever possible.
(or good night to Omir …)
It’s raining here today, but the rose bushes are blooming! There’s 2 pinks and 1 white w/ roses open right now.
Good morning Olivia. I would ask you how your day is going, but…..
Are you going to be able to slack any today? 🙂
You would be so ashamed of me … I hope you don’t take my certificate away … 🙁
Never ashamed and no certificate taken away. Too much work involved. 🙂
Ok, I’ll just imagine myself slacking in Andi’s woods today … 🙂
Will you be able to take extra naps today to catch up on your sleep, or will that make the insomnia (tonight) worse?
Now, that would be wonderful. . . .
Slacking in heaven.
It would make it worse. So I’ll just stay up all day and most of the night. It seems like I get my second wind around 3:00 pm everytime this happens.
So how is the dsl and PS working so far?
Oh no … I’ll throw a nap for you into my visual imagery today. 🙂
DSL: oh, there are no words.
PS: isnotinstalled…yet.
Thank you Olivia.
What’s the old saying? Once you’ve had DSL you can never go back. 🙂
For the PS: isnotinstalled…yet. See you just earned extra slacking points. 🙂
toddle on down here and actualize yourself in my woods.
I might just have to make a special trip to visit you.
Throw a nap… Makes me think of nap parties. A whole crowd of Boo Tribbers sitting around the coffee cart on big cushy lounges and napping quietly with iced tea and lemonade nearby for the wakeup.
Now that is a great image! 🙂
I keep phasing out here, so I’ve got to get up and start moving around.
I’ll be checking back, but in the meantime everyone have a good day in the pond.

I’m very lucky! Dr.Mc just showed up with a fresh pot of Lemon Solstice – decaf, but that’s okay, I’ll have a diet coke later.

Some of the new-fangled ones have no key. Mine doesn’t. You just turn to tighten.
For some reason I’m always a quarter of a century behind on new gadgets. Pretty soon you’ll be telling me they have movies in color now. 🙂
And phones without wires! < gasp >
Now I’m not that far behind. We’ve already switched over to cordless, but no cell phones yet.
I’ve got to get one just for trips. I’ve broken down on the interstate once before and it isn’t pretty. 🙂

Mary shocked? Well you know those city people. It’s always got to run on electricity. 🙂
Very smart idea on the list. I hardly ever go to the city unless I have one, and even with that, I’m sure to forget one thing.
Thanks for the info everyone, I think I have it pretty well, we shall see, yes definitely I had to hold a piece of cloth so it didn’t burn my fingers.
How are my fellow amphibians today?
Morning MM. I’m fine, how’re you doing today?
I’m good. A little tired as I did not sleep well last night. But here’s a sunny flower for you!
That’s really beautiful MM. Ya done good. 🙂
Hello all, I’m at work but will slack as time allows. (apologies to FM)
No apologies necessary boran. As long as you’ve got slacking on your mind, you’re halfway there. 🙂
It’s always on my mind.
Been up since about 7ish; I really do need more than 4-5 hours of sleep per night, but my hormones have other ideas… 🙁

Seems like another normal day here.
I’ve got to run for a little bit and then when I get back I’ll open up a new cafe.
