Is that your image up top, SN? It’s truly great! The petals seem like a marriage of fire & water (which I s’pose they are, really).
I must say, too, how happy I am to see you hosting today! Alas, must now shake the ol’ carcass & pretend to get on with it (whatever the definition of ‘it’ is).
Iron Goddess of Mercy Wulong? (an oolong) It looks interesting.
Otherwise you’ll just have to settle for the Scottish Breakfast I actually had. Though, with the arrival of summer I need to start thinking about iced teas now. Of course, those are always best if made by pouring some fresh brewed premium tea over ice. The flavor’s better, and the crackling noise when the hot tea hits the ice is a great sound.
So good, though I lost my morning writing time to editing a journal paper for Dr.Mc. She needed to cut about fifteen perecent after she made all the changes asked for by the reviewers. On some levels that stuff’s fun. My friend Mike calls it sentence origami, unfolding a sentence, taking out the extra words, and refolding it so that it means the same thing. But it’s very time consuming, and I’m officially behind on the book. Not by my editor’s schedule (done Nov 1), but by mine (done June 15). Somehow I doubt I’m going to get 25,000 words in the next ten days, though I’m going to try.
This is always a sign that a kid loves his parent — if she’s leaving for a trip without him, he makes sure she leaves thinking “what a really great kid I have” — that way he’s done his part to make sure she’ll actually want to come back.
but no. I mentioned it to him, went back to work on my outline, and when I heard the lawn mower, I had to look to see whose it was…hence my stunned amazement.
The breakfast cart ran out of soggy Cheerios. Good morning west coasters.
Hey SN. Did you take Mondays back? Or are you just around today?
Meh – I guess both. 🙂
I like seeing you here on Mondays. No pressure or anything, it’s just that Mondays usually suck and you provide good distraction even for lurkers 🙂
I’m happy to provide a distraction for you, maryb.

See y’all soon.
Thanks, WW, and happy carcass shaking. Stop back when you get a chance.
Now I know why it was such a nice morning — early celebration.
That looks ethereal. There ought to be a fairy in there somewhere.
Maybe there are — that would explain why the dogs will suddenly take off chasing absolutely nothing.
Oh it’s so lovely — that bit of sun on the leaves. Would you send me a wallpaper version…?
Me too. The river bottom is getting old.
though at the bigger size you’ll see that the focus could certainly have been tighter.
Thanks, it’s beautiful!
If you want while you’re here, we can scrounge through vacation and woods photos and burn you a cd of wallpaper images to take with you.
Sounds like a plan. Sorry for the delay – I was struck with a bout of Family Man Disease.
I’m off to work where I don’t dare browse “unauthorized” websites. See you at happy hour!
See you later, honeybee!
I think the back end of this dahlia is more interesting than the face. I guess that makes me a butt girl.
Thanks for these SN — I really need them today!
Bad day in FCH?
It’s good to see you here today … 🙂
of those hot noodles! Nice to see you too!
it the soft yellow whatever they are called foregrounded that with the green leaves that really makes IMNSHO.
You probably wouldn’t be if you saw my butt. There are plenty of reasons I keep it covered, two of which are the pointing and the laughing.
Hi Andi, O, MM, WW, maryb…et al.

Have a good one all. Later.
Peace
Thanks d … Gotta go … back to that room … argh … see you!
and light-years away from anything I’d ever attempt — even with a tripod.
Hello everybody! Busy-busy today, but wanted to say hi, especially with SN putting an intermittent host appearance. Have a great one!
It’s my fear of commitment. What’s the tea today?

Hope you have a great one too Kelly … 🙂

for the Big Trip…still got too damn much to do…
Out to run assorted errands…back in the evening…
Here it is Monday again . . . I hope everyone is doing well.
Good but busy. I hope your day is also one both full and fulfilling.
Well, I made a milestone in a project I’m working on, so I’m feeling pretty good at the moment.
CBtE just got up and went out to mow the lawn after only 1 request (and reminder that we have to get all our chores done before Thursday) from me…
Just thought I’d share the excitement. 🙂
We need to celebrate the small triumphs too!
Heh. He’s thirteen…so this counts as a major triumph! 🙂

And bring a present!
I think it’s a combination of what you and SN said. Either that, or he has really dastardly plans for while I’m gone.
Are you going to bring him a t-shirt that says – My Mom went to Vegas and all I got was this lousy hooker.
You haven’t rented Risky Business lately have you?
No, and I’ll be making sure he doesn’t see that until he’s grown and moved out of the house…
Uh, wanna bet that he’s already seen it at a friends house?
Just make sure he has clean underwear to dance around in.
But none of that tighty-whitie stuff:
LOL!
Sounds like a good excuse to open a bottle of wine and give yourself a toast.
At 4:31?
As good a time as any!
did that request involve any threats?
but no. I mentioned it to him, went back to work on my outline, and when I heard the lawn mower, I had to look to see whose it was…hence my stunned amazement.
that is a stunning development. Next he’ll voluntarily clean up the spray paint and agree to throw out his ratty sweatshirt.
Clearly an ode to CBtE is in order.
I’ll have you know he actually wore a shirt with NO HOLES in it to school today.
I’d settle for haircuts without grief.
not a lot of “without grief” going on with those two.
lounge open.
