Remember to take lots of water. It’s hot out there.
I am the homebody supreme. Besides, the dogs won’t let me cross the street.
Morning light in the woods making them look as if they are on fire.
Ah, a sight for sore eyes, Andi. The perfect antidote to the Mojave.
but since they have something glowing in them, they aren’t entirely antithetical to Las Vegas, the world capitol of neon excess.
Your photos are like presents … never know what we’ll get and always something spectacular!
they are always changing from from moment to moment so that every time I am in them there’s always an opportunity to see something new.
(and thanks)
So how’s the coding?
but nearly done.
In other news, I got a picture of some little ringneck snakes today and I think I should save them for FM so he can see that not all snakes scary.
And great on the snakes … Hopefully FM will see it that way … 🙂
spouse and I were at REI today (and they had my GorillaPod!), and saw a book that reminded me of you; I didn’t get the author’s name, but the title was First Aid for Dogs. Supposedly it’s got all the stuff you can do for dogs to treat them for various outdoor ailments before you take them to the vet.
That sounds interesting. I just checked and they have it at our library so I’ll be able to take a look at it. Thanks.
GorillaPod looks pretty nifty. I hope it gets a great workout on the trip.
Yeah, Cali – we want pictures. Lots of pictures.
Hey, where is everyone? This diary is not a mirage, I swear.
I was trying to get my sombreros back from Boran2 but he said he needed ’em for yKos…
Wuzup Izzy?…besides yer bad self…:{)
Oh, this and that. I actually have a few errands to run today, so I’ll be more unrealiable than usual (difficult to imagine, I know).
Nice hats! I hope boran takes care of them (are you sure you want them back?)
They’ll be fine after they’re steamed and blocked back into shape.
Have fun…have to leave myself in a few, hope to see ya in the lounge.
Later
Peace
I’ll be there! See you later.
How’s it going?
Good, Olivia. How are you?
Feeling better this week?
Much better now, thanks. I think it was all the soup from last week that helped!
Bun Boy?
Absolutely:
That sign could be taken SO many ways. Not that I would encourage any sexually-themed word-play or anything….
I’m not saying anything. I’m waiting for Refinish69 to see what he has to say. If he ever slows down enough to visit the lounge.
That sign is just too ripe for the picking, BrotherF… I’m sorely tempted, but I’ll be good.
Izzy does kind of seem to have a sort of a thing for these odd theme diners… hmm.
It’s not just a diner – but a motel too.
by the
quarter-hour.
Ah, a quarter-hour. <<wistful sigh>>
I s’pose you’re not talking about napping.
can be found here in the Pie War Anniversary thread. Lots of cool memories reading through those old links.
Lots of great memories, thanks for linking those. A lot of names in there I miss too, tho. Did mschloss ever complete her cross-country trek? Did zander ever return from orbit? Did Sven finally find the sauna he couldn’t leave?
no clue about mschloss, zander did in fact return but wasn’t around much after her space trip, and Sven regularly spends his pruny-fingered time over at the Blue Sauna.
I don’t like the term “Paris Hilton Tax.” Yes, it puts a face on the issue that most people don’t like. That girl has not earned her fame or fortune. But I prefer to call it the “Aristocracy Tax.”
Maybe it is my history degree taking over, but I think calling it the Aristocracy Tax harkens to the principals upon which the U.S. was founded; the one which says all citizens are equal and there is no aristocracy. Bush wants a return to feudalism via his “ownership society,” the aristocracy tax is designed to avoid that.
About to go take a short nap — we did a lot of rushing around today but I think we’re finally ready for the trip! I found the tripod I was looking for (see above post to Andi). And weather seems to be improving up north (in both Seattle and Alaska), but I may go dig into my sweater box and see if I can find a pullover sweater to drag along just in case. (Actually don’t think that’ll be necessary — weather’s been in the 60s, which if we can handle that when we go to SF, we can handle it up there.)
Okay, nap time…
Let’s dump this post — the new lounge is open!
