My day. My day. Hmmm. Did I have a day? I’m trying to remember. I think it was good, thanks, but it would be better if I’d go look at your blog to see if you have new photos up.
What’s that? I hear the local team is playing tonight but I’ve been up in the bonus room trying to finish putting down the floor that I started 2 months ago.
Hah! The graduation was fine and touching and filled with hopeful speeches. And we were in the posh convention center instead of the un-airconditioned building where some of the other county high school had to hold their ceremonies. It’s weird here, none of the HSs are big enough to accomodate graduations so they’re all held in one weekend and several locations around the city.
I can do it, but I just got to change the format that it’s in now. Since my old computer crash, I’ve got to put all the video editing programs i have on my laptop and hope they work.
Well, there were parts of the second season that were deeply disturbing and I didn’t enjoy that. I did enjoy the story-line, though, if that makes sense. I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with some of the characters this season.
Oh, man, that was brutal. I was reading an interview with Neal Stephenson who wrote Cryptonomicon, and he was saying that bladder stones used to be a huge problem — I think that’s what Al had. Anyway, it did seem horrible and painful — I was relieved when that part was over.
The doc is great. At first, I was convinced he was going to turn out to be a bad guy because he’d played a really scary serial killer on Star Trek TNG. He was so good in the role, it took me awhile to shake the fear of him when I saw him again. Now he’s one of my favorite characters as well.
Nah, I figure it’ll be on basic cable sooner or later. Never pay for something that will be free a little later. Though I am paying by watching basic cable. 🙂
of fond nostalgia — “Remember the good old days before the state withered away and we used to get to have endless arguments about pragmatism vs principle?”
Hey kansas. I was in Paris in 1998, on the night of the semi-finals. I’m not a soccer fan, but the street scene was amazing. We saw the Three Tenors sing in front of the Eiffel Tour.
I know exactly when The Little Mermaid came out because of the 4 Ariels that are 17 years old. And how would you like to be 30 and have the name Farrah?
Olivia, in case you don’t see my comments above–I love your latest photos. I kept going back to look at the golden day lily because of those beckoning fingers.
Clean cafe and the TV’s are on the game. Whichever game your watching.
Nice place you’ve got here.
Thanks Toni. You snuck in under my empty cafe comment. 🙂
That froggybottom just never knows who he is sometimes. 🙂
Wow I’ve got the cafe to myself and all the beer I can drink. I’d better start drinking fast before it fills up.
🙂
I’m out of the frog suit for now. You put that suit on and some times you forget who you are. 🙂
Dos your frog costume look like this?
<>
I would never ever look that good in a frog suit. He is so cute!
Thanks. I just couldn’t resist.
Well I’m glad you did. I was going to start dropping some big hints otherwise. 🙂
Well, I guess that someone has to do it, if Andi isn’t around.
What a cutie … the cutest tadpole in this pond for sure! 🙂
He’s so small there.
He look very fine in that suit but I’ll bet he’s going to look really great in a tux. 🙂
Did you have a good visit?
It was okay — my sister snookered me and there were more people there than she let on so it was way too noisy but it was nice group of people.
She obviously knows you very well. At least it was a short-term exposure … and you get to sleep in your own bed tonight. 🙂
A tux? Do you know something I don’t? You’re not that matchmaker lady from The Joy Luck Club, are you?
In China, I was trying to start the dowry bidding with all those little girls. I don’t think they got my sense of humor.
to pull off looking stylish and suave in a tux. Innate panache will tell.
I’d have to a be shadchen but there would be mahjong in common.
Oh, I already know that I am in soooo much trouble in about 12 years. We’ll have to work hard at keeping him humble.
That picture of Andrew in a frog suit or in the bathtub might be humbling to him in about 12 years. 😉
… feet … 😉
Don’t want to know. Don’t want to know…
Hi!!!
Hi KB. How’s your night going?
It’s going great, we’re watching Chuckie.
Glad to hear it’s going great.
Is that the creepy doll killer?
Yes. I actually hate it. But other than that things are OK.
I’m not real big on horror flicks. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Chuckie.
The one scary movie I really like is Jaws … 🙂
watch movies that you hate? I could be wrong about this, of course, but I think you might find you enjoy watching ones you like more.
Our daughter’s here for the first time in weeks and she wants to watch it. That’s why we’re watching it.
Yet another reason why I would have made terrible mother.
What a concept!
How was your day?
My day. My day. Hmmm. Did I have a day? I’m trying to remember. I think it was good, thanks, but it would be better if I’d go look at your blog to see if you have new photos up.
I’ll be right back.
Ooo, I love the new photos. I kept going back to look at the golden day lily, because of those beckoning “fingers.” They seem to say, “come closer.”
B/c I love reading your stuff … and your words make me want to keep turning the pages … 🙂
I have nothing new to say, I just wanted to make you scroll back up here. ;P
Anything for you kansas … 😛 backactcha 🙂
Ha! You get
the
last
rose.
🙂
Hi KB
What’s that? I hear the local team is playing tonight but I’ve been up in the bonus room trying to finish putting down the floor that I started 2 months ago.
How’d your day go?
Hi SN. How did the graduation go?
Glad to hear that. Graduations should be that way.
I love to hear about big city graduations. In my class there were 28 in my graduating class.
There were 1000 in mine.
Geeze that’s 1/3 the population of my town. 🙂
I think I’ve only seen half a dozen since then. My mother’s graduating class was 6.
Very small school — about 4-500 max kids. Went to two high schools in my last year b/c I couldn’t get all the courses I needed to graduate.
what’s a bonus room?
It’s either a southern or a newer house thing. Just an extra room, usually over an attached garage or in our case, the third floor. Like a rec room.
What’s hockey!? I must refrain myself from cursing out Gary Bettman at this moment.
Did you know that your local team is owned by a guy from Detroit?
His name has become a curse work here … bettman is synon. w/ asshole. 🙂
He gets booed everytime he is in Detroit.
Well don’t worry, I may live in Raleigh, but I routinely route against the local teams just to be contrary and hold onto my northernness.
Howdy, sports fans.
My son was in Munich for opening day of the World Cup yesterday. Nowhere near an actual game of course, but near quite a few beer halls, I imagine.
I’m tired of reading about politics. Maybe I’ll become an anarchist. But don’t they talk about politics more than anybody?
Hi Kansas. He was in Munich. I can tell you for sure there are plenty of beer hall there. Oh how I would love to go back to that area for awhile.
I wanted to say that your latest posts have been really wonderful to read FM. Maybe you could talk about some of your travels next … 🙂
Why thank you Olivia. That’s really kind of you to say.
Actually I’ve started one about that area.
You know how you had that bit of video you wanted to host? Ever find any host for that? What about youtube?
I can do it, but I just got to change the format that it’s in now. Since my old computer crash, I’ve got to put all the video editing programs i have on my laptop and hope they work.
Well, when I’m fed up with politics, I turn to tv — Deadwood starts tomorrow! Am I the only one who’s excited? But, oh, how I’ll miss Susan…
I loved the first season of Deadwood, the second season not so much. Did you? Now I don’t have HBO, so I can’t see Entourage, either.
Well, there were parts of the second season that were deeply disturbing and I didn’t enjoy that. I did enjoy the story-line, though, if that makes sense. I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with some of the characters this season.
I think I got tired of watching Al be so disgustingly sick, sympathetic soul that I am.
Oh, man, that was brutal. I was reading an interview with Neal Stephenson who wrote Cryptonomicon, and he was saying that bladder stones used to be a huge problem — I think that’s what Al had. Anyway, it did seem horrible and painful — I was relieved when that part was over.
I missed Wild Bill, too.
Oh, me too. I really like Calamity Jane, though. I hope she’s in it more this season.
Oh, I just loved her. And the doc. What great roles, what terrific actors.
The doc is great. At first, I was convinced he was going to turn out to be a bad guy because he’d played a really scary serial killer on Star Trek TNG. He was so good in the role, it took me awhile to shake the fear of him when I saw him again. Now he’s one of my favorite characters as well.
Hi Izzy. You know I never seen Deadwood yet. I heard it was good.
You should rent the first season on dvd and see if you like it! I don’t normally like westerns, but I love the show.
Nah, I figure it’ll be on basic cable sooner or later. Never pay for something that will be free a little later. Though I am paying by watching basic cable. 🙂
I’ve never watched it … haven’t heard of it … oh the shame. 🙂
It’s okay, Olivia — no need to be ashamed. If anything, I should be embarrassed for having HBO (well, among other things).
Well actually I don’t dance but I do butt in — Hi Izzy.
Hi, Andi! I’d be happy to cut a rug with you!
How are you?
I have a headache from being in a too confined space with too many people but other than that I’m fine.
I see a new lounge has opened so you can come over there and tell me how you’re doing.
You’re quite the amusing girl tonight, Ms. f.
I had to be nice for four hours. I have a good deal of pent up bad-grrl yearning to be free.
may talk about politics but they have the pleasure of knowing that if they succeed, no one will ever have to talk about politics again.
lol! I’ll bet they’d still talk about it, though.
of fond nostalgia — “Remember the good old days before the state withered away and we used to get to have endless arguments about pragmatism vs principle?”
Ha ha!! I’m sure you’re right. “Hey, kids! Let’s throw a good old fashioned dialectic!”
I think so — if you get rid of politics, all you’ve got left is brute force.
Hey kansas. I was in Paris in 1998, on the night of the semi-finals. I’m not a soccer fan, but the street scene was amazing. We saw the Three Tenors sing in front of the Eiffel Tour.
Ohhhh. That sounds heavenly. He was in Paris last week and fell in love with it. Smart child of mine.
I love Paris.
The city, not that trashy little rich girl!
OMG. My next door neighbor named her 2 year old daughter Paris. What a name to live down to.
No! Bad mom, bad mom!! At least she didn’t name her Hilton, but I’ll bet a lot of young moms have done that in the past few years.
I know exactly when The Little Mermaid came out because of the 4 Ariels that are 17 years old. And how would you like to be 30 and have the name Farrah?
I’ll stick with John and Mary names.
lol! Do you think there are any Hermiones? In spite of how popular Harry Potter is, that name may be enough to stop a naming fad in its tracks.
Series 2-1 now … 🙂
Okay … hockey can be put away now.
Olivia, in case you don’t see my comments above–I love your latest photos. I kept going back to look at the golden day lily because of those beckoning fingers.
Thanks :*
Lol! I have now, thank you very much. I won’t make you go back up to find another comment. 🙂 Yet.
However. . .now is a different matter.
Hear the thunder?
So, I am off to bed.
Night Toni.
24/7 opened in a minute.
