Can I help you?
Nah, I think we’re far beyond help, here….
Are you sure you don’t want something?
Coffee?
If I drink coffee, I wake up.
If I wake up, I see the world as it is.
I’m just not ready for that this morning. I hit my “tolerance for the morons” limit for the week coming home on the freeway about 9:42 last night, so I’m spending today in the darkroom….
Morning KB and stormkite.
KB what do I get for guessing what’s behind the picture? 🙂
Guess right and you get a cookie, guess wrong and you get a crack on the head.
Or a kiss either way!
I much prefer the either way. 🙂
How’re ya doing today?
n.t.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road….
Nope don’t pick that one. I would end up being the scarecrow for want of a brain.
(not that Kansas is Oz)
I am the Good Witch. Or the Walrus.
{{Kansas}} How ARE you! It seems like years since I’ve seen you!
lol. That would be years as measured in a mosquitoe’s life.
(giggle)
I’m off to buy new underwear.
When I get back — a fresh cafe. So, please finish the cheesecake before I get back!
Wouldn’t you know it. Once I sit down at the computer, George, Cat, Tom and Family Mom are all up demanding my attention.
Check back in awhile.
No one has any respect for our priorities!
I love that picture – the movement in it is incredible.
Thanks, SN. I guess even the sports setting couldn’t quite keep up with the speed of the car. It is an interesting effect, and I couldn’t have done it deliberately.
I’m back for a little bit. Who’s around.
I’ll tell ya what. You stay up with those kids in the late night cafe and then they sleep all day. 🙂
I’m gone again. See ya’ll later.
Hi Katie, wonderful to see you hosting here!!!!!!!
I am off to my daughters baby shower today,6th grandchild due to arrive end of July. Hope I can make it through the day, still worn out from grandaughters promotion to 9th grade big toodo on Thurs.
Seems like the summer is packed full of events at least for this family with 5 birthdays, the 4th of July and so on, oh and a niece highschool grad next Friday.
Probably won’t be back on site till tomorrow morning, see ya’ll later, hugs to everyone!!!!!!
Welcome back to Cafeland … That’s such a lovely photo up there … love the blue sky and clouds.
Wishing a good Saturday to all the froggies. Looking forward to hearing how the meet up with CG, MT, ask, and boran2 goes … 🙂
See you all a little later.
Lovely photo(s) you got up there! And big heyas to you, FM, SK, Olivia and SN and whoever else may be around at this point!
I’m sorry I missed what appear to be hopping cafés last night, but we had guests over and after I fell asleep half hour into Howl’s Moving Castle, the night pretty much ended for me! Snoozed in the chair until an insane hour at which I shuffled off to bed. Hate it how busy weeks catch up with me on Friday nights and I end up snoozing!
Looks like we’re getting cheated on the rain front yet again today … what was 50% last night is now 20% and just desultory clouds mocking us. Oh well, looks like we will have to go tackle weeding today after all… Even my watering last night didn’t do the trick to tease Mother Nature into raining on us. <Sigh>
Time for me to go downstairs and get some coffee in me, the gear up for mega-weeding extravanganza. I’ll share pics of the north side when it’s properly weeded! Hopefully I can find time to check back later this afternoon, but it looks to be a busy one, and we’re heading out tonight to see An Inconvenient Truth, so a busy day all around here.
Hope everyone’s Saturdaya is a fun one! Thanks, KB, for stepping in to make the weekend café an event. We’re all glad (I think, at least I am) to see you back at the helm!!
Missed ya last night. 🙂 Don’t be working too hard out there today. Hope to see ya later tonight!
Who’s around.
I’ll be around and about for a while.
Don’t overtax yourself KB. If you’ve been lawn mowing you’ve probably already gone through 2 liters of water. 🙂
Nope! Whoops!
Aha! Water.
I’m still trying to get my naps in sync, so I’ll see ya later.
this is a very slow day in the cafe. Which means some of us have social lives (I hate you) and some of us are working on projects around the house and yard. If I were katiebird I’d gear up for a raucous happy hour with lots of drinking to alleviate sore muscles.
See everyone later!
{{Second Nature}} I think you’ve probably got the right idea!
Anybody around, anybody home?
KB I’ve figured out a win-win situation for your lawn mowing.
.
Italy moved a point clear at the top of Group E after drawing 1-1 with the USA in an incident-filled match in Kaiserslautern.
Alberto Gilardino headed Italy into a 22nd-minute lead but their lead last only five minutes until Christian Zaccardo turned the ball into his own net. That was the end of the scoring but a minute later the Azzurri lost Daniele De Rossi to the first of three red cards.

it’s katiebird? Cool!
I just got back from signing at a Borders in the sub-urbs. Usually, when they just set up a table at the front of a store and plant me there, I’m lucky if somebody comes up and asks me to direct them to the restrooms. But this time people actually came up and bought my book.
Plus, I had lunch with a really good friend.
A good time was had by me.
Hi Kansas. Sounds like you had a good day.
BTW where are the bathrooms in Borders?
He’d have me, me buy a goat!
Sounds like he already got your goat, kb. 🙂
Now there you are wrong KB. They’re nice fluffy little lambs. Who could ask for more?
Well I guess you could ask for someone to mow your lawn, but it wouldn’t be as much fun as stepping around, ahem, certain piles. 🙂
lol. I’ll tell you, but only if you buy my book. That’s what I should say.
Very astute business woman I see. 🙂
Yes, I like to be able to claim that people are desperate to buy my books. They’re practically wetting their pants to buy them.
Too much information?
I would suggest next time find a book store that you have to have key to get into the bathroom. Someone comes to you for the key, hold up the key and your book. Let em know you can’t get one without the other. 🙂
You are diabolical and I like you.
Do you have any idea how this book is selling compared to your other ones? Maybe I shouldn’t jinx it by asking.
Hi SN, how’s the dryer doing?
Rattling away. Tried the legs. Took the bottom panel off and cleaned out all the accumulated lint. Checked for pennies or other things jammed inside that might be causing the rattle. I guess I’m going to have to call a repair guy. He’ll charge me $85 bucks and fix it within a minute.
They’ll charge you $85 just to show up. Then they’ll start charging you for parts/labor.
Just go out and buy a new washer and dryer. Better yet have someone do your laundry. Better yet still, send everything to the dry cleaners. Better yet yet still, throw away the clothes when they get dirty and buy new one.
See you’ve got all sorts of alternatives. 🙂
I do sometimes throw away clothes. Shhh.
Better yet yet yet I could send them all to you.
I’m already a very well dressed man thank you very much. 🙂
I can see that. I can also see that you’ve been alone far too long.
Do you think it’s the flashy clothes. 🙂
What flashy clothes? I was thinking about that desperately sad look on your face.
That’s a look of smug satisfaction knowing I got the last fish bra. Hah!
I’ll bet you had to punch out several Southern Belles™ to get it.
Actually it’s an old one Bubba used to have. 😛
I’m pretty sure it’s doing a little better, but the author is always the last to know these things.
{{kansas}} xxoo!!
I wish I could have been there. But I had a great time on my couch, too.
Thanks, kb, but all I did was sit and chat to folks who came over.
Couches R Good.
I’ve got to start dinner.
I’ll check back later.
Please open your dictionaries to page 811 and follow along…the word of the day is:
omphaloskepsis
Later
Peace
Re: your word … I do that often … 😉
‘Ja keep some sleep? Got kinda late there in EST.
It was very nice to sleep in too. 🙂
How ’bout you, did you get all your beauty sleep?
Are you going to be around later? I took a couple pix I want to show you but I don’t have them uploaded yet.
had a minor interruption @ 9AM…neighbor’s ongoing project w/ power tools.
Gotta go get stuff for dinner and stop by the Liquid Mart but I’ll be back…been preparing my oral arguments re: the research grant proposal…:{)
Later
Peace
I just back from The Beer Store myself…prep for tonight’s game.
See ya later!
You youngsters just don’t know how to stay up and party.
How are you doing today … did you get enough sleep? Looks like you were up just a few hours after you went to bed … 🙂
Hi Olivia. It’s all in knowing how to space your naps.
Did you have a good day?
Nap wise not a good day, but I’ll catch up with it later.
Ready for the big game tonight.
You’ve got your beer? Your snackables? Are you wearing the same socks and underwear as the last game (seeing as how Ed won, you can’t jinx them by changing anything…)
I think he was wearing his feather bra and the one sparkly glove last time.
there must have been some black fishnet stockings, too.
Just what every Cdn dude wears to watch the game: feather bras, sparkly gloves, and fishnet stockings … 😉
are done. But what bliss and joy there was over our presence.
Look at all those baby carp vying for your attention.
was Oscar, my sister’s border collie, who knows that he can count on me to keeping throwing his rag bone to him to catch until my arm falls off.
In my neighborhood you don’t even have to get dog slobber on your hands – they have these clawlike extendable grabbers to retrieve dog toys. Why don’t they just get a robotic dog?
They’d be really horrified by me then because I even let Oscar kiss my nose. In my defense, Oscar is adorable and I am a puppy slut.
Meh. I let my bird stick his head in my mouth.
Hi Andi. Glad your home safe and sound.
Good to see you both made it home … 🙂
I didn’t realize Jim had gone. He’s on vacation. 🙂
You think I’m not normally greeting by crowds of frenzied fish? Hah!
I meant that your photos tend to be on the green side, as opposed to blue … 🙂
Are these your relatives’ fish?
They’re at my mom-in-law’s retirement community in a little pond that’s about 50 feet long and 20 feet wide. I figure they’ve been fed by a zillion and a half bored little kids and so have high expectations that footsteps on the bridge across the pond means FOOD.
Don’t Carp eat just about anything? So things went well — I was surprised to read earlier that you were visiting both your mom and mom-in-law. Are they close?
Oh, and is Jim watching the game?
My mom and m-i-l are best buds (my m-i-l lived in the same city as my mom until just a few years ago when she moved to cincy to be closer to the grandkids).
(clearing throat)
Wouldn’t you be happier where the tables are clean and the food is hot?
Damn everybody get to the cafe and I’ve got to go and run an errand.
Be back later.
Hi, Andi,SN,O,dada, and forgive me for missing anybody but I’m too lazy to scroll up.
I’m off to see Al Gore’s movie tonight.
Y’all tear the place up. The beer’s on ManEegee. Literally, probably.
By! Have Fun.
Enjoy … I think that’s what IVG’s doing tonight too. Let us know what you think of it … 🙂
Come to The Froggy Bottom Dinner
