Before I gave up playing music, playing Naima was a special joy for me. Naima is named for John Coltrane’s first wife and was released in 1959 on the album Giant Steps. This performance is from 1965 and features John Coltrane on tenor saxophone, McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison on bass and Elvin Jones on drums. Unfortunately, the sound on this is very tinny, but I think some of you will enjoy it nevertheless.

As you probably know, BET on Jazz was turned into the really horrible BET on J.
As a reaction I collected what I thought were the best working jazz, acid jazz and nu jazz links on the web.
