Hey! How’s it going?
Morning Andi and Psi.
I feel so special this am. You used Wicked Wednesday. š
Good morning to all my froggies!!!! Wicked Wednesday might be a good name for today. LOL I will plug my latest podcast. LOL
Waiting for the World to Change… NOT ME!!!!
There is even a phone number where you can call and record a message for me and I can use it in a show. Check it out on the podcast page.
Morning Refinish. How’re ya doing this am?
Morning FamilyMan!!! I am doing good. Slept a little better last night and fewer nightmares. LOL Hope you are doing well and not getting over heated with your slacking.
Glad to hear you slept well. I’m feeling fine today. I think fine enough to go out and tackle the yard again.
I missed it yesterday, but BobHiggins wrote a great story about lawn mowing. Here.
I went through that last summer after my car wreck when my neighbor’s mowed my grass all summer long. This year we are suppose to take turns doing the front and my much younger neighbor usually beats me to it 3 out of 4 times. LOL
Why can’t I have neighbors like that?
LOL!!!
Hi PsiFighter, Family Man (oh special one), and Refinish.
Hope everyone is doing good today.
Morning Miss Andi!!!!
Anything interesting on your political plate?
LOL Planning the first meeting of a new Stonewall Democrtas group and attending meetings as always. There is a bloggers luncheon this Sunday in Austin that I will attend.
Nah just us same old wicked morning people. Now if the night crew started crawling out of the wood work I’d agree.
ROTFLMAO!!!! Isn’t that some of the same people?
Me thinks you have a point. š
Maybe but you all showed up and earlier than usual.
Gosh I just noticed it’s only a little after 5:00 am here. I am running late today. š
I got some good sleep last night, so I’m not as in rotten a mood as I usually am at this time. Currently plowing through the WSJ.
Glad to hear that — I like my position as chief grump of the cafe.
If you’re such a grump, maybe you should go back to sleep, eh? š
If I could, I would — which may be a significant component of my crankiness.
I don’t think so. You’re in the grips of geezerhood.
Crankiness and no sleep are just two of the symptoms.
Crankiness and not sleeping have been my boon companions throughout my whole life.
Good morning Andi, Refi, Psi, and FM!
I can’t remember the last time I was up this early…we’re off to a doctor’s appointment for CBtY’s poison ivy shortly.
Morning CG. I hope the doctor can prescribe something to make CBtY’s poison ivy better.
Thanks, FM. I think our afternoon at the neighbor’s pool yesterday was probably the most helpful thing we’ve done so far. It has spread to some pretty uncomfortable places, unfortunately.
Lawn mowing today? We need to do ours…but it’s supposed to rain (surprise).
I can only wish for rain. We just got enough last week to make the lawn start growing again. I think it’s a joke the FSM keeps playing on me. I keep thinking the lawn is finally dead, but the FSM keep going nope he can’t have a totally slackerly summer. š
Sorry you’re up for such a crappy reason.
I’m sure FM can help you plan a nap.
No napping for me today – I have a deadline to meet for tomorrow.
Supposed to go see the Al Gore movie tonight, though.
What are you up to? Any upcoming travel plans?
Re that last question, I just read my email now.
I just came back from my walk and I’m sure you’re off to the doc but I’m answering anyway — I wish those travel plans were for some place wonderful in order to do something fun. I’m sure glad I don’t have to spend vacation funds on putting in a new septic field very often.
Is that what happened to your vacation funds this year? What a pain, and it’s such a bummer to have to spend fun money on home improvements like that, instead of fun ones.
You know I have such a grat comment on replacing a septic field, but I’m not even going to say it. š
I think I had the same comment…
Bummer would be an understatment. And to add to the non-fun, both our cars got damaged in a hail storm. Ah well, I still get to take some vacation days — I’ll just spend them reading and biking and hiking around here.
Hello Andi, Psi, refinish, FM, CG …
Andi, love Wicked Wednesday! Nice one FM … š
Morning Olivia. Are you ready for another wonderful day at work? š
How was that for super positive. š
The real answer is no — I’m using your toothpick-eyelid trick right now.
How ’bout you?
I’m doing OK today. IMO you don’t get enough sleep. I think a really suscessful company should have mandatory nap times like in kindergarten. At certain times everybody pulls out thier little mats and takes a nap.
You should put that in as a suggestion to your place of business. š
As you spend awake! š
I’d love the mandatory nap time … if only to just get things quiet and no one bothering me. š
That’s actually what made me into an early riser. I always found that I was most productive in the early mornings. So I would get into the office at least an hour and a half before everyone else. Instead of staying late, I would come in early.
Once everyone got to the office, productivity would take a sharp dive, then after lunch I was totally useless. Something about eating a big meal and naps, I don’t know.
By quitting time the only thing on my mind was going home and I would feel very put out when I had to stay late.
Unfortunately, I’m not a morning person so it would go against my nature … š
I better get going. We have an early morning meeting. Have a super day FM and don’t be working too hard.
I’m sending along a toothpick holder for your desk. Try to keep those eyes open.
And I have a feeling this will be me today.
And big feet! š
LOL
That’s my Canadian persona. Well actually I guess you could say that me in real life to. š
Are good things. š
For polar bears maybe, but for one of my dates in college it didn’t look to becoming on her. š
How are you doing today FM?
I’m doing fine. How’s the day at work going? Got the toothpicks out of your eyes yet?
Guess the only way I can make it into the early cafe is to stay up all freakin’ night…fortunately my “grey nights” as I used to call them don’t happen as frequently as they used to, and at least I’ve got the computer instead of just watching World News Now on ABC all night…
Almost 5am Pacific…might go lay down for at least a couple of hours… shrug
Hi Cali. Sorry you were up all night, but happy as always to see you here.
I hope you get some rest!
NHL schedule out today!!! š
And there’s been lots of moves going on here in Ottawa … š Take care Cali!
Giddy was feeling left out of the puppyfest.
She’s smiling!
Morning SN. How’s your day looking so far?
I’m liking being on vacation, FM. I sit here in the morning and look out the big window, drink coffee, check email, and my brother in law brings me the paper. I may never go home.
I used to find when I came home that it was great for awhile, but once they started telling me to take the trash out, it was time to go. They didn’t realize in my mind the only reason I came home was to be waited on.
Well not the only reason, but it ranks right up there with the top ones. š
He could probably do without my inquiries as to why he’s a Republican. He doesn’t like Bush, but he voted for him twice. Argh! At least he’s ashamed of the second time.
Look on the bright side. Maybe you planted a seed of liberalism there.
I definitely planted SOMETHING, we’ll have to see what sprouts!
How’s Family Mom doing?
You never know what will grow.
FMom is so-so lately. Arthritis is acting up really bad, so I’m constantly watching to make sure she doesn’t fall. It wouldn’t be so bad except our den has two steps to walk down and I worry a lot about her maneuvering up and down those.
Right now she’s pissed at Geroge. I took her for a ride the other day and George pulled everything out of a little trash can she keeps by the couch. So here I am trying to make peace. š
A fall would be disastrous at her age. But with your constant good care I’m sure she’ll be fine.
Actually when I talk to her about a fall she gets mad. She has put on some weight and I tell her she wouldn’t fall it would be more like weebels wobble, but they don’t fall down.
OK I’m a bad son and I know it. š
She’s even happier now — we just got back from a walk in the rain a few minutes ago and she’s sopping wet.
How’s the owie on her foot?
It’s looking better and she’s not licking it as much.
Are you going to get some good weather for taking pictures at the lake?
My sister lives about five miles inland, so I don’t know what it’ll be like at the lakeshore today but I suspect windy and cloudy with big waves. I’m heading out in a little while.
I love that. FM’s idea, yes? Great.
Howdy Andi, Psi, Refinish, FM, CG, Olivia, Cali, SN, and anyone else who’s around. I hope the day treats you all splendidly. I’m up early for me because we’re in the window between full airconditioning and just night fans. So I woke up a little bleary and sticky.
Hoping to get my last major project cleared today (well, second to last – I’ve still got work to do on the WebMage sequel, but it’s largely a matter of polish at this point) and then start off next week with a pass at the new novel. Woot!
Tea today: Hunan Black, iced of course. Or maybe…diet cola. I know which I’d prefer, but one’s a lot less work.
Morning Kelly. Get that ac on.
Congrats on finishing up the projects.
And BTW, I love the polar bear above. That’s me on a slow day.
You’re welcome Kelly. I strive to be the polar bear everyday, but for some reason I always get side tracked.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed but there’s a plan afoot to have a BT meet-up in Chicago on October 7. I hope you can fit us in on your busy calendar.
The chances are not great, but I’ve definitely been keeping an eye on the thread. School will have started by then and Dr.Mc gets a little crabby about travel by that point in the year. Still, I’d love to go and see y’all f-to-f.
FMom is up early today. I’ve got to get started. I think today will be a pancake morning starting out.
Everyone have a good day in the pond.
Second morning shift has begun! Is that a photo of our last staff meeting? Where are the rest of the monkeys?
My student help last year called herself Chimp because she could do a great monkey imitation. Then she decided I was Chief Chimp and she was Junior Chimp. Fortunately that moniker didn’t stick.
It’s raining like crazy but it’s the day we mow so off I go. Being the Chief Chimp, I get the riding mower with the cab, windshield wipers and heater. Power has its rewards even in blue collar work.
Stay out off any major wickedness today froggies!
Come and join my new beachclub.
Link
Ahhh Boran, if I mow your lawn can I stay at your beach club for a couple of weeks free? I’ll even do the weedeating.
Sounds good!
I could be the bartender…and maybe Damnit Janet too? š
I couldn’t think of better bartenders. Well maybe George, but he tends to drink up all the stock. š
Good morning/afternoon everyone! I’d rather have ice cream than hang around with wicked witches (well, sometimes anyway), so the Froggy Bottom Soda Fountain is now open.
