I’m doing okay considering I just found out that the ac unit has to be replaced but it won’t be anytime soon b/c there’s a delay on units d/t Hurricane Katrina/New Orleans.
Oh Olivia I am really sorry to hear that. Just a thought, I don’t know how your house is set up, but some of the little window ac units are fairly cheap. At least with one of those you could get a decent nights sleep.
Then again, it depends on how long you have to wait. A week, month or wait until next summer.
Gotta run to an impromptu meeting. I’ll check back w/ you later. Have some ice cream and slack for me FM — I really need it!

Slept all morning, now good to go. Showered really late yesterday so I’ll skip today; that’ll make it easier for me to get back into my routine.

Glad to see you too, FM… I’m doing somewhat better, but ran out of my herbal supplements (St. John’s wort)the past few days and need to get more so I can continue to drag myself back up a bit from the doldrums I’ve been in. Work has been such a drain on my spirit lately that I’ve just wanted to withdraw and be silent when I come home, and then I end up conking out early most of the time… didn’t even turn the computer on last night… just watched my news shows and a couple of Frasiers and that was it for me… I’m losing my touch I guess, lol!
Haven’t even been doing much in the garden due to heat and rain the past few days, but this weekend will be do or die (I’ll do and maybe die, lol!) with regard to weeds and the final seeds I need to plant.
Sounds like everyone is getting the heat bad right now, and we’re no exception… supposed to be heat indices over 100 the next few days! That will make the tomatoes and basil zoom, but likely to make us and the dogs wilt… Oh well, it IS summer, right?
You stay out of the 100 plus weather. Don’t want to see you or the dogs wilt.
I used to take St. John’s wort but couldn’t really tell any difference. Since my bypass surgery the only supplement I take now is a multi-vitamin and I can honestly tell a difference if I don’t take that.

Hey dada! Y-Olivia! Now I’m smiling to see the whole crowd assembling here… too bad I do have to try to get out a bit before dark, but will hang out here for a few… SOOO sorry to hear about your AC woes, O! Where are those attacking glaciers when you need them, huh?

Yup, got home about 30 min ago… time to take the pups out, give them dinner and a biscuit, so they’re happy now. They’re doing pretty well, though Andy has an attitude problem (mentioned previously I think?) he needs to work on. But so far no blood drawn or real brawls so we think it will work out in the long run… Andy just needs to learn his place in the pack order here and we’re making sure that Rolly and Pepa are on top, of course.
Too hot to go out and do much tonight, but want to check on a few things that are close to blooming (red lobelia and hibiscus, for example)… IT had a setback last week and wilted really bad, but we think it will recover. Beginning to wonder if it will bloom this year since there is no sign yet 🙁
Maybe it doesn’t bloom every year … or the first year. This is the first year right?
yeah, we’re disappointed, but it may still surprise us… it’s its first year, so it may hold off, but at least it’s not dead, just a bit crispy looking. I think the dry weather has stunted a lot of stuff this year, except for the regular heat lovers like the coneflowers, which are profuse and happy as clams. I vow that tomorrow I will go get some more pics taken, but we’ve been busy with the new dog and such the last week or so, so that has fallen by the wayside, as has my b-thingie, alas. And the sad thing is… I have several posts planned, just need to get the pics together, upload them and write the post… sometime later this week… will pimp it when I do. 🙂

Though I am not pleased that Andy frequently challenges Rolly and snarls at him for no good reason… for which he is getting lightly “thunked” (à la Cesar Millan) and scolded when he does. Rolly is just too laid back sometimes, and we still don’t think they’ve figured out this is likely a permanent addition yet… will keep ya posted though. Oh, and fantastic to see you live again dada!

It’s not overtly painful and gets their attention pretty effectively w/out the association of being smacked w/ your hand-which I strongly discourage as it will lead to biting when someone offers a hand, particularly a stranger…actually, the pop on the nose is pretty effective on me too…:{)
That’s essentially what we’ve been doing… not for pain, just to break the mood (as Cesar puts it) and get the attention. NO hands will be involved, for exactly the reason you mention. Yeah, pop on the nose or ear works for me too… does that mean we’re K9s? And that was a rhetorical question, so no lippy answers from the “peanut gallery!” LOL… see ya folks later!

Good thing we stocked up on the Old Style last night with FM over here guzzling, lol! I just wish I could send a duct from my cubihell at work up Olivia’s way and she could chill her beer with that alone! Our office is so damn cold I run a SPACE HEATER all day and still sit there shivering with long sleeved shirts on… it’s ridiculous! Glad I’m not paying that electric bill!

Hi Olvia!!!! I moght have to go get some Moomillenum ice cream. It ahs everything in it but the kitchen sink. My favorite or it was the last time I could find any was caramel candy classic by one of the local dairies.
I’m pretty much a purist — or very boring — when it comes to ice cream. My favourite is chocolate.
I would have never guessed.
Chocolate is always good, except for the cakey kind…lol.

I went once and made a fool of myself. We went to the 19th hole first and when we were teeing off, they told me I was doing it backwards. I turned around and promptly teed off into the club house and knocked out a 70 year old lady. LOL
