Hey Danni and I made chocolate espresso cheesecake and boy oh boy is it RICH! I couldn’t finish a piece last night after the hockey game… and that’s not normal! 🙂

I took it on the 4th of July on the way up to Mount Lemmon. It poured on us hard for a good hour at the top. Scary clouds like that are the norm, but they’re being stubborn and not sharing their moisture with the ground. Great lightning shows the past coupla nights tho.
How goes it in Effingham?
Were you planning to join maryb and me there for our meetup? (Or were you thinking I lived there because I live over in south central Indiana.)
And I thought Effingham was some kind of coded obscenity! A real place, huh? hehehe
It is the city that is half-way between maryb and me. Other than that, I don’t think it has anything to recommend it.

but we have What Cheer, IA … how’s that for a hoot? Nowhere near that loathesome Steve King’s district though, thank some unknown benign entity. That western part of the state over there near NE is scary stuff (King’s district). I’d like to hoist him on his petard and shock him on top of some electrified fence! Oh, ok, better calm down here. I just don’t like him.

it was kind of busy and boring at the same time here today at work, and I’m just counting down the last 16 minutes before I can flee the place for the day. Spent most of the day in my (ice)Cubihell watching video streamed MR interviews being done for us in Paris… it made me realize just how much I miss that city and the language… <sigh> And I was sitting here with a space heater on a 90 degree day … wish I could just teleport myself to Paris… oh well. I’ve got you guys, and that’s pretty damn sweet in and of itself.
Geez I’m missing Paris and I’ve never even been there. 🙂
in Germany and you never made it to Paris? Astounding. But then, all the times I lived in France, I never made it to Germany either… but that wasn’t because I couldn’t… it was because I didn’t want to! There’s a story in there, but I’ll keep it all to myself.

But I did manage to get my old MG back on the road yesterday.
I used to want an MG, but after I got a certain height decided it would be too uncomfortable.
Turns out the car is configured so you can extend your legs pretty far in front of you. I am a certain height, but it doesn’t bother me too much.
Until it’s actually time to get out of the car.
I’ve always wanted a two seater sports cars, but have since decided that something I don’t have to worry about climbing in and out of is the way to go.
I lusted for many years for an MGTC.
A 1980 (last year they sold them in the US) MGB. It was my only car for nearly a decade, and I’ve now owned it for more than two. I hear they’re starting to increase in value, but as they say, twice zero is still zero.
Looks like all the cacti are giving the finger. The lighting is nice.

Butterfly bushes… very phallic looking. They’re my favorite!!! They attract butterflies, hummingbirds and moths. Very fragrant.

Down in Calif I had at least 8 in my front yard. We went from no butterflies to actually seeing some Monarchs return. In the early morning and late evening youcouldn’t go outside on the front porch because of all the butterflies. I have some photos of Danni with butterflies in her hair.
They are really amazing.

I am a Tim Burton fan 🙂 but no.. I didn’t make any sculptures out of his manly mons area LOL
I was shocked he asked me to do it! I’ve had to trip his neck and eyebrows a few times and I am not too good with the scissors. I’ve said “oops” one too many times… but am pretty good at the manscaping area. It’s not a shave… just a trim. I’d too scared to take a razor to that area.
Plus there is an afterward optical illusion that is a … “plus”.

I must admit, the first time, I had to ply him with lots of alcohol and I truly only think he let me attempt this is because… well what man doesn’t want that particular area to be the center of his wife’s attention. Even if scissors are involved. (there is a safe way to do this though… you place a comb between the skin and scissors)
This time he asked me. And he was stone cold sober.
I had pasted a similar recipe to a Froggie here but I had one written down but it was still in a box. Here’s the real deal.
1/3 Cup Lime Juice wit Zest
(zest is the stuff you grate off the lime)
1/3 Cup Olive Oil
1 Jalapeno or 2 Serranoes diced
2 TBSP Tequila
2 TBSP Chopped Cilantro (fresh)
2 TBSP of Chopped garlic
(or however much you want to put in, go nuts)
Salt/Pepper @ 1/4 TSP each
Marinade times:
Seafood – 1 hour
Poultry – 2 hours
Other – 4 hours

I haven’t found my spatulas so the batter was a bit unmixed at the bottom of the bowl… that was really the only bad part. We diddn’t realize it till we were gooping it into the springform pan. It’s really GOOD!
I’d take a photo but the last bit of unmixed is on the top. But man is it rich!
well and truly hugged by me too. Plus a little pinch on the cheek (no, not that one) and a “ooh, you’re just so cute”.
