And that was haunting … beauitful … scary … all rolled together.
Some sad news … you know my mourning dove? Remember how the nest was too small? I think she accidentally pushed the egg out of the nest b/c I found it tonight on the ground … broken open w/ the almost fully developed baby bird lying beside it. And the nest is empty now … 🙁
Yeah – all by myself. First time I’ve gotten it to boot on the first time as well…had to go back and plug in my second DVD drive and my graphics card power connection, but otherwise, it’s been quite nice. 😀
some 7-11 somewhere in Denver would serve as someone’s ATM!
I got lost in 5pts once coming back from downtown. Reminded me of the photos from WWII. Did they ever rebuild those areas or does it still look like that?
gentrified…still a little rough around the edges tho. Don’t know if you were there for the big urban renewal fiasco where the tore down about half of the lodo area. but that’s really brebuilt and full of lofts and yuppies clear down to the railyards and around Union Station. Denver changed a great deal in the last 2 yrs or so…not all of it for the better.
and ya, I think we can have some fun with the project, and learn something new, just like what’s happened with the macro shooting. I see a whole lot more of the “world” now than I did before, which is a very welcome and unexpected benefit from the initial incentive to shoot macros.
wow-people are still up! I’ve been out drinking too much beer w/friends from the food co-op where I volunteer on Fridays-we went to the Pub at the End of the Universe. It’s right around the corner from my house so no worries about falling off the bicycle. Come visit and I’ll take you there! I’m falling asleep on my keyboard so goodnight!
I guess the cafe ran out of flies?
How are you tonight/this morning?
which I’ve just noticed since I turned off my three 2’X 2′ floor fans.
Last night I heard the coyotes singing for a while. They sure have some high pitched wails sometimes.
Never used to have them around here, but the last decade or so the red fox have died off from disease, and the coyotes moved in.
I miss the red fox, at least you see those once in a while, but the coyotes I hardly ever see one.

little chick didn’t make it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a small mourning dove. Robin fledglings, yes but not the doves.
I’ve seen mourning doves on small nests like that. They don’t seem to be the best nest builders. But somehow they usually make it work.
Doesn’t sound like something conducive to stress relief … 🙂
And these 3 lines I have to write on the barefoot wet grass … any constraints or totally open?
Are you still going to send an email?
lol … j/k
don’t expect email on that yet, as the list is still in the formative stage.
Absolutely no constraints on the reply. It’s the momentum of contraints we’re trying to get away from. Right?
No constraints is a good thing … 🙂
Any time limits?
Hello everyone! First post at BT on my revamped desktop. It’s freakin’ sweet!
And hi … 🙂
Hey olivia! How goes it?
You’re up late to be getting up as early as you do … 🙂
It’s the weekend – so it’s all good. 😛
w/ the new system … you put it together yourself?
Yeah – all by myself. First time I’ve gotten it to boot on the first time as well…had to go back and plug in my second DVD drive and my graphics card power connection, but otherwise, it’s been quite nice. 😀
Two DVD drives eh … sounds like quite the system you’ve built. 🙂
I’m crawling off to bed now … try to get some zzzzz’s in. Have a good w/e if I don’t see ya around … 🙂
nearby somewhere…had a couple kits this year. They’re not as cheeky as the urban coyotes…the coyotes won’t run from you like the foxes.
They keep the feral cats thinned out.
most likely due to deer hunters shooting at them, or sheep ranchers. I don’t suppose you have much firearm activity there.
But then I do recall nightly gunshots when I lived on 18?? Clarkson, ha! (Denver)
unless there’s a riot going on…but the seem th have finally got that under control.
Denver’s a lot more dasngerous now than when you you there…lots of gang activity…drive bys…crazy shit.

or spell tonight.
I lived at 16th and Franklin in the very early 70’s, and E Colfax was crazy then.
Franklin sounds familiar… ya probably weren’t too many block from me, ha!
18?? Clarkson was just a few blocks south of the big Safeway store.
I should go google a map of that area, and refresh my memory.
Ya didn’t happen to go to the Dillard’s concert at the York Cafe?
Black Oak Arkansas played somewhere around there too.
I was approx 3 blks S and 4-5blks E of there. Used to hang out at the Folklore Center near 17th and clarkson…a lot
ah, ya, me too!
Don’t recall the Folklore Center.
How about Village Nine?
Or we used to dance on the plexi-lighted floor downtown at the Elect Lt Co
reminiscing … 😉
>reminiscing … 😉
ya vell, it vuss a great time to be in the Denver/Boulder area. There was lots of great music.
We used to have ND parties, must have been a couple dozen of us around the city at that time.
Driving from Denver to Boulder at night, and then cutting the lights off as you decend into Boulder, now that was an interesting “flight”.
I’m catchin the next flight to zzzzzzville…I’m toast.
G’night all, pleasant dreams
Peace
or do they call them sumptin’ else up N too?
And I guess you could say I am … 🙂
‘twould be mighty tempting to do a tour of the old haunts… well, maybe the D convention will provide that incentive.
Red Rocks I missed somehow, heard plenty about it then, must’ve been short on the dollars at the time.
G’Night dada. Sleep well.
Ain’t the sun up in Ottowa yet?
Got another 1/2hr or so …
Good night NDD … sleep well.
I’m looking forward to working on this project w/ ya. 🙂

Ya just never know whatr a trail will lead ya to.
then moved to Bldr. Got into the scene here and didn’t go to Denver unless it was something special.
Ever make it to a show at Red Rocks?
Sorry about the dove.
This guy we caught going into one of the aviaries at my neighbors.
A few mug shots later he was transported to a friend`s ranch nearby.

their own chickens those guys used to be problem. Seemed like they could come through a hole about the size of a quarter.
Now 99.9% of the chickens are corporate raised, the meat is mushy with a high fat content, and they don’t taste so hot either.
How’s things going w/ you …
