Our collective revenue is way down, but our collective influence may be way up. It’s hard to know how much influence we have. I’d like to be able to pay my utility bills (the air conditioning is a pain), but I’d much rather rout Joe Lieberman out of office and have people take notice. Buy an ad if you have something to hawk. Otherwise, donate to Ned Lamont. Either way, don’t take this thing of ours for granted.

Maybe you should set up a donation bin, Booman. I’d chip in – love BMT and especially the people here. Where I work makes it difficult to make donations to political candidates, so I should chip in somewhere!
Can’t do it PsiFighter. To protect myself from being sued when you call Rumsfeld a vampire, I have to eschew donations. I make the little money I make from the store, ads, and affiliates. Buy all your books from my Powell’s link. It makes a difference.
I’ll remember that.
And once I get back to college, I’ll throw down for a BMT mug. Need a political one to go with my ‘Bluth Company’ mug. 🙂
Which item makes you the most money, so those of us who can’t afford much can give you the biggest bang for our buck?
color bumper stickers are just a proxy for donations. If we wanted to donate $200, for example, you could just buy 8 color bumper stickers. Be careful though, they weigh a ton. Just joking, the shipping is free.
Would paid subscriptions expose you to the same risk? You know my thoughts on that…
I find it hard to believe that our free speech laws are in such disarray that you could be sued for the words of others simply because you accept donations for providing the forum.
Could you please tell us where you learned of this law? did your lawyer tell you this? What is the statute which defines this action.
I have scoured the Legal Guide for Bloggers and I could not find this law referenced.
Please explain this.
look up Limited Liability Corporation.
(psst…that’s what those $5 and $25 bumperstickers are at the store for…)
A gathering of losers:
Brings to mind a couple of quotes…from B. Franklin:
We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.
and one apropos to the dlc and Joementum:
It is hard for an empty bag to stand upright.
and off to buy a couple of your overpriced and exceedingly heavy bumper stickers…the ups man’s getting a bad back.

The DLC resemble nothing so much as a group of herbaceous dinosaurs, duckbills or such, trapped in a tar pit due to their inability to detect the danger the tar, which was invariably covered with a layer of water, represented to them.
Hillary Clinton will never be President. She’ll never even be nominated.
It’s the summer, lots of people are taking a break from politics. Things will pick up in the fall.
Pimping the site to alert people to its existence is also a good way to build traffic.
There are lots of places that permit comments from huffingtonpost to the nation. Put a reference to this site in your sig.
