I was just thinking how nice some of my family gatherings would be if I couldn’t understand a bunch of the people there — of course, the trick is to get to pick which ones it would be.
Heading for a sunny high of 99 today, so it is most definitely an inside day for me filled with glamorous chores like catching up on vacation laundry and washing out the litter box. Anything beats having to head out into the heat.
It’s breezy here today (and last night, too), so hopefully it’ll be more bearable. we didn’t get to the beach until 5:30 last night, cuz it was too hot.
The trip back was wonderful with our deli sandwiches and Colin’s fan. Turns out Mr. Nature had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere on the way back from the ferry the first night and ended up staying at Morehead City until he could get it fixed. Poor guy.
I still can’t believe how long it’s taking ya’ll to get your ac fixed. I seemed to help out WW with my weather dance awhile back. I’ll do one for ya’ll to keep it cool.
I just got a call from a lady out where my brother lives. She wanted to know who I was, and I asked her who she was. She said she had gotten three call from here last night and that she didn’t know anyone in Bama. I asked where she was and she told me, and I told her FMom was probably trying to call my brother and dialed the wrong number and just kept hitting redial. She sounded a little upset.
I asked FMom and she said yes that’s what happened. That call has taken away my inner slackatude.
My housemate got a call the other night on her cell phone with some guy demanding to know who she was. She was like, “Well, who the hell are you?” And he got all huffy. She had to point out, “Dude, let me remind you of the history of this 17-second phone call — you called me, I don’t have to identify myself to you.”
It’s one of those I’ll never understand people things with me. Why not just inquire why the call and proceed calmly from there. I understand why people become defensive, but it always seems to create more problems than anything else.
Well, I’m no longer having minor crying fits over the fact that I’m too stupid to use little plastic products, so things are looking up. 🙂 How’s it going with you, Liv?
PS. That copyright thing you’re doing on your photos is probably a very good idea. There’s some kind of tricksy HTML way you can make it impossible, or at least very difficult, for people to right-click and copy your images, which I bet google could help you find, if you decide that would be useful.
I was happy to read that things ah, fell into place for ya! I’m betting I’d meet w/ similarly frustrating results … 🙂
Going well here … I did find a site that explains how to disable the rt click — actually found quite a few, but now I’ve just got to find time to read them all … That’s The Story of my life you know … 😉
you can add a “watermark” that doesn’t show up on the screen, but when someone goes to copy it, it shows up on the copy…you might want to play around with that too.
And I know there’s a way you can disable image capture…couldn’t find it in either of my HTML books but I know it’s out there; good luck finding the right tag…
How’s it going, Andi?
Good morning Psi and Andi.
What flavor of ice cream is on tap for today’s wrestling card?
Don’t know. Can’t be anything with chips or hard stuff in it. I wonder if there is a Mississippi Mud ice cream. 🙂
Hey FM. How goes it?
I think it’s supposed to “only” be in the mid-90s here today.
Sounds like sweater weather.
Very funny. 😛
I meant to ask, how much longer are you on the job, and when can you get back to being a care free student who sleeps late. 🙂
I have 2 more weeks of work after this one’s finished. Then 2 weeks off, and then it’s back to school.
Good. We’ve got you in the early mornings for at least two more weeks.
Just wondering what your major is.
Double-majoring in finance and accounting, with a minor in Japanese.
I sort of figured it was in finance, but the Japanese is a surpirse. That’s cool.
I’m half-Japanese, so it shouldn’t be. 🙂 I moved from Japan before the language got really ingrained in me, so I’m learning it now in college.
I still think it’s cool. Heck I just try to get by English, and Andi always has me googling new words I’ve never heard of. 🙂
I was guessing econ. The Japanese minor will certainly make an attractive addition to your resume. Are you hoping to work in Japan?
Nope, was born there and am half-Japanese. 🙂

Nothing much doing here. Such is life in the boonies.

Mmm…laundry. How was your trip back?
It’s breezy here today (and last night, too), so hopefully it’ll be more bearable. we didn’t get to the beach until 5:30 last night, cuz it was too hot.
Morning CG. How’s it going in the land of the peg legs?
She posted pictures, didn’t she? Sigh.
We’re having a great time in spite of the heaT (and bugs). Had fun with SN and the Nature Boys!
SN was saying what a great cook you are. Between Omir baking bread and you cooking we need to get a Froggy Bottom cooking show on the air. 🙂
and now we all have seen just how happy a man with pegleg makes you.
As the saying goes, “A hard man is good to find…” 🙂
Of course it does mean keeping a large supply of sandpaper around.
Remind me to leave the innuendo to SN and Indy from now on…

Morning SN. Dirty laundry and cat litter. Makes you wonder why you ever went on vacation.
some time for uploading all those pictures you took.
Hope you all have a cool(er) day.
It’s only 66F here w/ hi of 79F!
Woo hoo! 🙂
Morning Olivia. We can send you some heat from down here. I know you are already missing it.
Or should I say html pro. Thanks for the offer, but I know you guys really like it, so I’d hate to have you deprived. 🙂
You know with global warming coming you really should get used to the heat, and I’m more than willing to share some so it’s not such a shock to you. 😉
nope! You keep it — please! lol
If you insist. However, I can’t make any promises for the rest of the month.
Then (fingers and toes crossed) we’ll have sweet ac relief. 🙂
I still can’t believe how long it’s taking ya’ll to get your ac fixed. I seemed to help out WW with my weather dance awhile back. I’ll do one for ya’ll to keep it cool.
me too …
Is this the naked rain dance? 🙂
Nope, that’s only done for drought areas of 3 years or more. I have to have a really good reason for going to jail. 😛
We certainly wouldn’t want that!
Well if it gets to hot, let me know and I’ll sneak out in the middle of the night and do a little jig. 🙂
… but only in an extreme circumstance … 🙂
I better get back to wk … have a good day FM!
You too Olivia.
it’ll take forever to melt the ice cream for the wrestling pit. 🙁
Not if it’s soft serve. 🙂
Well since you put it THAT way. 🙂
Not to worry — I’m sure we’d work up a good bit of heat w/ the wrestling. It would be in liquid form in no time.
🙂
since you are so very cool.
of Nature and Cabin Folk:
That really looks beautiful CG.
Thanks FM. Sunset paddling in the sound is one of my favorite things about coming here every year.
graceful kayaker SN and Nature Boy:
Hey, thanks for that, CG. I look bigger than the boat. 🙁
you don’t. You look like you’re having fun.
We had a great time meeting you guys and hanging out with you. I just wish the weather had been a little cooler.
We had fun too! Are you sitting outside the coffee shop?
Yes, with a cool breeze blowing (strangely enough)!
I need to finish up my coffee and figure out what to do next…bike ride? read? eat? So many decisions… 🙂
Don’t overdo it in this heat.
and your sunset shot and SN’s are fine companion pieces.
I’ll have to go find her pictures now…although I’m almost aafraid to see the peg leg one.
You both appeared to be having a, uhmm, good time. 😉
I don’t know about CG, but it was the most action I’d seen in quite awhile.
Are you saying you’re going to take up carving wood? 🙂
I just might, FM. Stay tuned. 😉
Don’t forget the sand paper. 🙂

Sometimes I hate caller ID because of things like that.
I can understand her being a little upset, especially since instead of one call it was three.
I’ve already told FMom not to hit redial again. 🙂
We are a very funny bunch of tool-using apes.
It’s one of those I’ll never understand people things with me. Why not just inquire why the call and proceed calmly from there. I understand why people become defensive, but it always seems to create more problems than anything else.
Because we’re also mostly dumb, easily agitated tool-using apes? 😉 Hey, give me back my banana!
LOL I couldn’t agree more. 🙂
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing, you two, I’ve really enjoying seeing these as I am quite fond of you both.
How’s it going … It’s good to see you. :*
Well, I’m no longer having minor crying fits over the fact that I’m too stupid to use little plastic products, so things are looking up. 🙂 How’s it going with you, Liv?

That’s one I had not heard about — I’ll add it to the top my growing list of stuff I have to read. Thanks!
