The “Morning After the Night Before” edition.
Luna managed to get loose yesterday when I was away taking Albert to the vet.
So, the saga. Yesterday I got home and found her cable broken and Luna missing. After driving around in the dark and talking to the neighbors for most of an hour I finally found the neighbors who had her – about a kilometer up the road.
She had come into their yard to visit their dog, and the wife had seen the trailing cable, realized she was not supposed to be out and tied her up. If only she would have read the number on her tag and given me a call as well – anyway, it was nice of her to catch Luna for us.
So, to follow up a stressfull evening, last night when I put her to bed I made the mistake of latching her cable to her name tag ring and not the ring on her collar. So, when I got up at 4:45am to use the toilet, once again, there was no dog.
Off I went, again, driving up the road while Imogen went the other direction. Fortunately, Imogen found her in the neighbor’s yard across the street.
From the smell of her, she not only rolled in something dead, she ate some of it as well. She’s not feeling too good at the moment.
and my dog, Lucy, just can’t seem to get over it. She spent two days being a whiny, clingy freak — and she still gets worked up, a week later, when she goes to say hi to the other rat.
It’s endearing, yet somehow incredibly annoying.
Here`s what 18 days does to a little rescued bird.
This little “Kiwi” as my wife calls it, is now flying into the parrots` cages
just to be like them. All the cages are open at all times & most of the birds just go into their respective cages to eat, but have them as a private space that belongs to them only. [visitors are welcome though]
It will soon be time to let this one go out to do it`s own thing. After 18 days it`s hard for my wife to let go of her rescues, but she unfailingly does. Most of them come & visit daily, to her enjoyment & mine.
Here`s “KIWI”.

What a darling!!!
Oh dear! I can imagine what you must have been going through. And I’m sure Keres is very proud of herself even if she’s a bit off her feed. I’m so glad she’s back home again and safe.
