Now that that’s settled, what will we ever talk about?
The chicken or the egg, who came first. π
I think we settled that. The egg looks pissed.
whatever… I came TWICE before you got home, fuckwad.
He/she is thinking – oh yeah, well I was dreaming that you were a big cock, instead of just a little chicken.
The rooster is probably thinking I really scrambled that egg.
Ok, I’m thinking, and laughing. Give me a minute.
I should have said ‘I’m thinking it ova.’
I guess the yolks on me – I can’t top yours, FM. Hmmm, top…
Maybe the rooster is thinking, is that a crack I see. π
Ok, you topped yourself. Of course you’ve had alot of practice lately, topping yourself I mean.
Well I’ve topped of a head of beer, in a manner of speaking. π
Oh, please don’t hand me easy ones like that. Low hanging fruit, so to speak. π
I’ll have to put my thinking cap on. I forget you’re the high priestess of come back. π
ROFLMEGGO!!!
huh?!?!
Drive-by…couldn’t resist this one…:{)
Late getting back and dinner’s a long way off…gotta go
Later
maybe…
Hi/bye dada. Love that egg.
Goodnight and take care, sweet man!!!!
LOL, Dada! Back in the roarin 70’s they used to have t-shirts like that with the slogan I just got laid! on them… not that I would have ever worn such a thing but I bet you remember seeing those…. hehehe.
I come without you. π
Nice to see everyone.
Hi Toni. How’re you doing tonight. More important how is Andrew doing?
Doing well here.. a codepinker friend is on her way to my home!!! Far out!!!
I swear to dog, Toni, I’ve had more people come to my new place in the short months we’ve been here than the entire decade in N. Cal.
I might have to run off for a bit… oh and then a hockey game.. damn.
OH and those Dr. Seuss books for the little dude… they’re subversive material π WHOOT. There’s a religious guy that works near my husband… and he’s so free to talk about his religion and how he loves Bush and how he thinks certain books are “EVIL”. Yesterday it was Dr. Seuss… ACK LOL
My husband just stares in disbelief… actually he’s a little too gunshy to engage you know. The guy isn’t a superior either it’s just… well you know.
I have an evangelical friend that also thinks Dr. Seuss is subversive. Well, he is, of course, but that’s the point.
Actually, it’s somehow wrapped up in a strangely morality-tinged debate on the right way to teach kids to read. I can’t make head or tail of any of it.
So anyway, how is everybody? Am I the only, um, latecomer?
You know who else is “subversive?” Raffi. He sings about organic gardening, peace, and not needing electronics for fun.
Bushie and friends think that only phonics should be used to teach children to read. The thing is, it doesn’t work as a sole method.
Hi, Toni. So tell me – what is it about phonics? Why would they get so bent out of shape about teaching reading any other way? It isn’t as thoe Inglish spelling is strictly fonetic.
Dr. Seuss, damn straight he’s subversive π SINGLE mom in Cat in the Hat… the whole Horton hears a Who? and
wait.. .someone’s at the door..
(did someone light a match?? I smell matches) π
It’s really kinda scary that these folks feel so free to discuss getting rid of books and such. In the workplace, even.
Dr Seuss is subversive? I see it. Stories about accepting differences, not adhering to phonics-mania. I totally see how someone could think that. I mean, who wants to teach their kids to be peaceful? Hippies.
Yep, all that “get along” crap… that is so bad for our kids. π
One who gets challenged alot is Roald Dahl… I love him! But so many try to ban his books. Because he’s “dark”… GUH.
Of course we have his entire collection π like a good little dissenter-reader that I am. π
It’s not so much that he’s dark — although I guess he could be seen that way — but I read an interview with him one time, and he said that in his books, he goes straight to the top. The rotten kid is the rottenist kid there is, the sweet kind kid is the sweetest kindest kid there is, and so on.
I read my granddaughter James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory a couple of years ago. They are superlative books.
Hate to run, but it’s past this geezers bedtime.
See everybody later.
Night FM. Andrew is great, by the way.
Omelett-in’ this one go by without comment.
Just about 40 minutes till bedtime — it’s going to be nice getting back on a semi-routine.
Spouse’s drug test moved up to tomorrow — I know he’s been a good boy (didn’t even have a beer tonight just to be on the safe side), but you never know if a false positive might creep up; just updated his medication list so he can let the tester know what he’s taking legally.
Looks like I missed all the fun in the last cafe — in the discussion of drive-ins, I could’ve mentioned the old Sonomarin Drive-In, on the border of Sonoma and Marin counties up in the North Bay…they specialized in showing X-rated movies. lol Spouse and I actually drove up there during our dating days; being in the back seat of a Toyota Celica, we had to get a bit creative. π
Anyway, I’d better toddle off and do my beauty regimen before bed…night, all…
Anyone still up?
KamaKid has a whole spiel on why the egg came first. LOL.
Maybe she’s just women first! ;>)
Howdy all, just stopping by before bed since I’ve been so busy lately and just plain exhausted. So here’s a bit of oddness growing out front in the boulder bed, a celosia sport, or freak of nature if you prefer…
I’m currently working on another post at my blog about flowers that sport (started the series in July) but here’s a brief preview of one (there is another already) and there are more on the way if anyone’s interested. Yes, FM, I know, you’ve already seen this, but I promise you more … I have a really cool one that so far only O has seen, hehe. Going to get more pics tomorrow for the next installment….
Hope everyone’s doing well tonight, and hope to stop back again soon, though work this week is grueling as usual (so what else is new lately??).
Visualize whirled peas since I shouldn’t steal dada’s sig and say peace hehe.
Hi, I’m a newcomer, not really familiar with the community or the jargon, however, after posting some comments, and being asked to tell about myself, I’d be happy to be more involved in the fascinating discussions here.
I’m an Israeli, and the reason I find out about this community on the first place was because of the war in Lebanon.
I’m 31 years old, live in Jerusalem. Spent some time in the States, and met there many people from all over the world, an experience that meant a lot to me.
Would love to talk about the Israeli atmosphere in general and my views in particular.
Hi Tammy and welcome.
Always glad to see new people in the cafe. The cafe is pretty relaxed and laid back. Most of the times people will come into the cafe just to talk and get to know other community residents better.
Glad to meet you and I’m looking forward to your participation.
