Good morning Andi.
I’m getting ready for bed, couldn’t sleep earlier. Had alot on my mind, to say the least. I’ll see yawl on the flipside.
Hope you get to sleep Manny.
Good night.
I need to be semi-awake at my desk tomorrow. All my best to you and FMom as you try to get her to the doctor. paz y good night.
Just carry some toothpicks with you and prop you eyelids open. They’ll never know you’re asleep. 🙂
Thanks for the good thoughts.
What time is the doctor’s appointment today?
It’s at 10:15, but it’s a two hour round trip to get there. I’m just hoping FMom doesn’t get stubborn again though.
I really like the picture up top. Are you climbing trees to get shots now? 🙂
I’ll keep an eye on the cafe for you and open a new one if needed but I’m betting not.
Thanks and nope, just standing on a high ridge looking across and somewhat down the hillside to another ridge.
Geeze I had a picture of you hanging from a limb, the dogs barking and you trying to snap a picture. 🙂
Hopefully things will be quiet, but if not, thanks.
If I went up a tree, I wonder if the dogs would think the alpha dog had become a squirrel.
They would probably wonder, now that she’s up there, how are we going to get fed.
Good morning AndiF and FM! (Good night, ManEe.)
I’m hoping FMom doesn;t get stubborn and that things go smoothly for you today FM.
Are you walking this AM, Andi? It’s raining here.
Good morning CG and thanks.
If it’s raining you should plant your gluteus maximus in front of the computer today. 🙂
Yep. Rainy days are good for getting lots of writing done.
It’s not raining here though I expect it will be foggy/misty. But I’m going to keep walking in the morning until it stays dark too late. Right now, there’s stumble-quality light around 7.
I’m hoping things dry out long enough for me to do the loop around lunchtime. Otherwise, I’ll have to hit the treadmill at the gym (boring).
Good morning, AndiF, CabinG, FM.
Wow, that photo looks like a painting. Oh – what a dumb remark. Usually it’s that a painting looks like a photo. Your picture does look lit from within, however, luminous.
Thanks, Kidspeak. I understand what you meant and I thought the light had Monet-like quality to it.
FM, sounds like you are heading up to the med center at UAB or Nvl? Hope the trip isn’t too difficult.
Hi Kidspeak and thanks. We’re heading to Tuscaloosa. The trip shouldn’t be too difficult because we’ll be on interstate just about all the way.
I am heart sick this morning at hearing of the passing of Governor Ann Richards. She has been a hero of mine for a long time. Governor Richards will be missed!!!!
Here is my podcast to her memory.
Farewell to Ann Richards
Ditto your sentiments. What a great lady she was. Very hard to think that she’s gone.
Morning. I wish like hell I didn’t have to go to work today. I have been crying off and on since I got up and heard the news. I have met her daughter and many of the people who worked closely with her since I moved to Texas and always hoped I would meet her eventually. I am dedicating the rest of the 2006 election season to her memory and will bust my ass to get some good people elected.
Good morning Refinish. My sentiments go with her family and you.
I feel very sad about it. But Texas can be very proud of giving all of us women of the quality of Ann Richards and Barbara Jordan.
Thanks FamilyMan and Andi!!! I will use the memories of her strength and courage to make me a better Democrat and help take Texas back from the bastards. I have to go get ready and head to work. I will check in later if I get a chance.
I just listened to your podcase RF – very touching, especially the making me laugh and cry all at once. Remember who you are, indeed!
She was such an inspiration, it was an honor to meet her, to see her in action, if only a tiny bit.
Thank you!!! I only wish I could really do justice to this great Woman.
Hope you all have a good day. Must get ready for school – more hectic now that spouse is no longer on strike.
Oh, @#$Q!!. Leftovers left out on counter, eaten by Gang of 4, no wonder they weren’t very hungry when I fed them earlier.
Good Morning everyone. FM, I don’t know what happened, but I hope that you and MrsFM have an uneventful trip and I hope she’s doing better.
Andi, great pic… it does indeed have a glowing quality to the colors. That’s an effect that rarely transfers well to a photo. I’m so thrilled that we’re having another fotofair.
I’m incredibly sore from all those shots. Halfway up my back (from the upper rump shots) and both my shoulders are sore right up my neck. I’m not looking forward to the next shot tomorrow. 🙁 Plus the antibiotics are giving me distress in the lower tract. The upper tract isn’t doing the best either. Oh, after all that pissing and moaning I do feel better. 🙂
Well, I’m going out to kiss my horses for a little bit. I promise to get myself out of whining mode. Later.
I hope you feel better soon. Try some yogurt with live cultures for the antibiotic GI upset, and it also usually helps to take the antibiotics with food, too.</pharmacist advice>
Thanks, CG. I’ll get myself some yogurt today. I haven’t been careful about taking the pills with a full stomach, I will try that.
Hope you feel better soon, and so sorry about the kitties. Take care of yourself.
Thanks so much, Kelly. I’m really OK, just miserable and whiny. I can’t help it that I love those animals so much. The worst (best) thing is, the next time a stray turns up at my barn or back porch, I’ll still feed it and take care of it and find a way to get it to the vet. It’s in my genes.
We’ve got five rescue cats at the moment, and we’d probably have more if that wouldn’t put us over the city limit.
It’s an errands and writers group day, so I’ll have to get moving here very shortly.
Today’s Tea: Empire Kemun, the last of the bag. Fortunately, that’s one of the errands.
Refinish, alas for the indomitable Anne Richards. I’m right there with you. She’s been a hero of mine ever since “born with a silver foot in his mouth.” She and Molly Ivans represent the best of Texas, as do you. Very sorry to see her go.
Manee, nice post on some awful legislation over at your blog.
FM, you and FMom take care. I hope to hear that both of you are doing better soon.
Andi, lovely pic.
All, have a grand day.
And now I’m off to deal with my stuff and some family stuff. Unfortunately the dial is back up at ten with occasional spikes to eleven. I’ll probably be more out than in over the next week or three. I do wish my response to stress weren’t insomnia.
TTFN,
KMc
Kelly, stress is a real killer. If you have a day where the shit hits the fan from 5 directions at once, you need time to decompress. Of course, I retired early over stress, so I was never quite able to keep my head above water. Please take the time to take care of yourself.
Now if only I could find those toothpicks needed to hold my eyelids open…
Yes to Peace
I received this just now in our codepink email…
something many can do 🙂
I saw this and it instantly made me think of my own daughter and how she is constantly using sidewalk chalk to make rainbows and peace signs on our driveway… something she’s been doing since she was old enough to hold the chalk (without attempting to eat it)
Yes. To Peace. Something about that just makes me glow inside.
Just wanted to say congrats on the job front. I’m really happy for you.
