Good morning Andi. Nice stream shot.
How’s FMom? Did it all go okay at doctor’s?
(re pic: thanks)
She’s about the same. I wasn’t impressed at all with the doctor yesterday. It seemed like he couldn’t get us out of the room fast enough yesterday. He was there probably a total of 8 minutes.
How are you today?
That unfortunately is modern medicine — if you want someone to spend time with you, you have to go to a nurse practitioner.
Good morning Andi and FM.
TFSMIF!
Good morning ask.
How are you today?
Tired, I think.
Didn’t even notice that TFSMIF was in the title already..
Are you well?
I’m doing as well as can be expected.
Are you looking forward to Oct. 24th?
Oct. 24th?
Because…it’s UN-day?
Every day is UN-day – or should be.
Have a nice weekend planned?
curly and I were supposed to leave for Spain on Sunday.
She’ll head out alone and I’ll only catch up with her next weekend in Barcelona.
Work is crazy.
That’s really too bad but I hope when you do get there, the both of you have a great time. My niece spend a summer in Barcelona and just fell in love with it.
Quite annoying, but she took it well.
Strange coincidence; curly made the hotel arrangements for Barcelona – with no input from me, she ended up booking the very same hotel I stayed in when at a friend’s wedding back in ’98.
Gotta run, FMom is calling.
See ya’ll later.
Mornin, FM. I don’t know the story, but I’m so sorry that you and FMom are going through a rough time. Not all in the medical profession are so lacking in compassion. It’s a shame that you had to drive so far to have such a rotten experience. I hope things start looking up.
Good morning all. Gotta run to work, but had to share this. I mentioned it last night. Molly Ivins complete tribute to a great Texan, Ann Richards.
What a great story! Thanks.
Woke up less dizzy. Woke up… if you can call what I did last night as sleeping.
Yesterday something really weird happened. When Wayne left to take Wesley to school… a black Audi drove up, a woman jumped out with a paper bag and began cutting and taking my roses. I ran out and said, “what are you doing?” and she ran off to her car saying “just taking some roses”… WTF?? She could have at least asked…
and she chopped about 4 bushes worth… she took all the ones that were ready to be brought inside.
What next?? Just help herself to my gas? Coome in and ransack my fridge?
I don’t mind people walking by, stopping and smelling them – and some neighbors know they can take one or two… those are the ones that come by and also deadhead the roses…
Still reeling from Boran2’s diary about that awful shirt… WTF
Jeeze. Maybe you should hide in the bushes with a pellet gun. 😉
Hey, here’s another ditz who doesn’t have a clue about TSFMIF. Um, how about “The Shittiest Friday Morning- I’m Fucked” or “Tillie Smith’s Fornicating Mother In Fresno”
(help me, someone… put me out of my misery please)ACK!
Maybe it’s Thanks for small miracles it’s Friday??
Never had anyone drive up and take all the near blossomed roses before.
We have had this happen. Not roses (our roses are rugosas, which no one will cut for their blooms). But our jonquils, of many varieties, have often been cut, sometimes right in front of us!
And the daylilies that follow them, have been outright dug out of the ground. We originally had many reds and pinks, and most of them close to the curb are gone, dug out and just the hole left. I’ve never seen anything like it – though I’ve never caught anyone in the act of taking one of the plants.
It was like she felt entitled…. I was just “jaw on entryway”…
Well . . .after all, you are a recent arrival, aren’t you? She’s probably been stealing those roses for years. (Or did you plant them after you moved?)
Some people really do think the world is literally theirs to take, I do believe!
They were the elderly man’s pride and joy. The roses (12 of them, all labeled with little plaques)were here when we got here. They are the “memorial” for a lost neighbor for all the neighborhood.
That’s why neighbors come by and deadhead it and smell em…
The previous owner… took care of them every day. He fell in the garden, was taken to the hospital and never made it back.
Some real estate agent bought the home and remodeled it then made a killing on it.
Oh dear. That’s both a nice thing the previous owner did, (sounds like the yard must be very pretty), and it does make me really suspicious that my hypothetical “done it for years” might be true. Or true for the length of time between the old man’s death and your moving in.
[The hypothetical comes from a real accident my dad had to deal with in his insurance business. A lady backed out of her long driveway at full speed onto the highway in front of her house and hit a car driven by a new neighbor. Her explanation? “It’s all his fault. I’ve been backing out of that driveway for years. Everybody knows that.”]
Did she by any chance have one of those despicable yellow magnets on her car??
I didn’t notice… it was a black audi…
Thank (the) Flying Spaghetti Monster It’s Friday
Hi Nag. Hope you are feeling better.
ahhh the noodley appendaged one. 🙂 Thanks Andi
Hi Andi, Thanks, I am feeling better, especially mentally, which helps everything. Among other things, I need to pop in here at the cafe more often.
So, the flying spaghetti monster, huh? I’m on my knees chanting for forgiveness… AAAh-oooo. AAAh-oooo. (good thing I have a laptop)
Just think how good you’d be doing mentally, if you came to chicago. 🙂
You do not want to see me on a boat right about now. I’ve been known to do some serious “feeding the fishies”.
But.. I could always go for some Gino’s East Pizza.
Mr. went to school there during the navy times… Chicago, not the pizzeria
Thanks For Small Miracles It’s Friday.. works, too 😉
It’s lovely today – clear and bright and in the seventies with a good breeze. Woke up with some energy (how did THAT happen?) and have been getting things done. Don’t want to jinx it though.
Pic from this morning.
asiatic lily
That is incredible!!!!
Absolutely breathtaking!!! sigh. Thanks, I needed that. 🙂
Wow, gorgeous!
Recovering from a totally wasted trek yesterday — just a bit cranky today, but I’ll survive.
Waiting for the spouse to get out of the shower so we can hit the road…already got my Random 10 ready so hope to make it back for the evening lounge (will probably miss Happy Hour due to the time difference)…
Have a good day, folks…
