Hi FM. I’m having a slow day at home. I was supposed to be finishing up the plumbing on the b-i-l’s house, but it was mostly outside work and the weather is blustery/rainy/icy cold – so, I’m waiting for a nicer day to do the work.
Very smart move on the waiting. Our weather has nice lately. We’re supposed to get down to 49 F tonight. There’s definitely a touch of fall in the air. I guess by now, you’re ready for the summer. 🙂
It was 70 F for a little while here and I acutally felt a little chilly when I went outside. As much as I’ve fought it, I’m becomming acclamated to the heat again.
Yes, well, I figured it was some such thing like that.
I guess if you come through Detroit around Thanksgiving this means I’ll have to make you dressing with (shudder) white bread or something equally repulsive and Yankee.
Hey, mayo is yankee food, strictly! Mustard is what you put in dressing. Now, pimento cheese is a great idea. . .my favorite sandwich, after peanut butter & jelly.
Anytime you want that repulsive Yankee slime, feel free to make it yourself.

Kitty Litter Cake
CAKE INGREDIENTS:
1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent
SERVING “DISHES AND UTENSILS”
1 BRAND NEW cat-litter box
1 BRAND NEW cat-litter box liner
1 BRAND NEW pooper scooper
Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.
When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.
Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape
the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.
4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!
Ready willing and able for summer, or at the very least a less variable spring.
I just had to go tempt Nina and Inti back into their paddock with a bucket of grain. There’s a fence that occassionally blows open in very gusty winds, as it did again this morning. Nina was having a great time eating the leaves off the fruit trees. I guess I’ll be replacing that latch today.
Not to mention having enough time to campaign. He can take more classes when Bush is out of office. Besides, Wharton is probably just warping his mind in the wrong direction anyhow.
So, I went swimming with my camera on Monday, and I’m wondering when it might be dried out enough for me to turn on again. Do you all think I need to wait until Saturday?
What kind of water got into your camera? If it wasn’t clean fresh water, then you should open up your camera and give it a good soak and rinse with fresh water (sans battery if it has one, of course). Then let it drain and air dry for a bit, followed up by using a hair drier on it’s lowest (or even air only) setting. Then let it sit a bit more just to be sure. Oh, and if you need to clean any surfaces (except the lens) use rubbing alcohol as it evaporates cleanly.
we may as well take a nap.
bed time?
Hey folks. Hope all is going well. Currently plowing through a bunch of Japanese.
How goes school?
That’s japanese, as in the language, that you are plowing through, not Japanese, as in people from Japan, right?
’cause that would be cruel.
You know him better than I, but I was wondering.
How is everybody doing tonight? I just got back from a trip into the city, and I hate to drive at night.

I’m so ready for fall. This morning I was at the dog park in a long sleeve t-shirt and all the southerners™ had on parkas. It was 55.
I have a sweater on tonight and I’m still cold. Fall is definitely on it’s way.
How is HJ?
How’s HJ? I checked and here she is.
concedes his best-sleeper title.
It’s interesting that she felt the need to elevate her hind quarters this time.
I believe it’s just a whither-the-pillow-goeth-I-goeth thing.

It was in the high 40s here last night, but nice during the day.
I can’t quite imagine 70 feeling chilly.
Just think what I’ll feel like when it gets into the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. :0
Southerners is Trademarked??? I’m trademarked, as a Southerner???
Explain, please!!
Sorry, I kid. I tease FM about all things South™ and Southern™.
So you were kidding the whole time? I’m crushed. 😛

Oh no, I love it with chitlins and pimento cheese spread and mayo, just like down here. 😉

Hey, Kidspeak, when’s the last time you made stuffing up here?
Night all, and I’ll get the cat boxes tonight.

Another pimento cheese sandwich lover. Good for you Kidspeak! 🙂
Who do I have to pay when I call all my in-laws southernersTM?

A trip? You mean you traveled elsewhere between your Lazy Boy and the bathroom? 😛
Hello Psi. Yep I actually had to drive somewhere. It really put a kink into my slackatude. 😛
How have you been doing?
Eh…not too great. I have been busy with schoolwork. Had to drop a class; 6 is simply too much for me to handle, even when I am working efficiently.
I did a 19 credit semester once…and I was really happy when it was over. Six classes really is too much.
So, does this mean you’ll be coming to DL next week? 🙂
Probably a smart idea to drop the class. As I’ve said before, efficiency is the key to slacking.
Not to mention having enough time to campaign. He can take more classes when Bush is out of office. Besides, Wharton is probably just warping his mind in the wrong direction anyhow.
That is an excellent point.
Plus he needs time to plan the topic of the week so he can talk to me about it on Sunday nights. Not that it’s all about me or anything. 🙂
So — Andi says I get to meet you in Chicago?
Yes. We’ve bought our boat tickets, so we’ll be there. I’m glad you’re coming, too.
So, I went swimming with my camera on Monday, and I’m wondering when it might be dried out enough for me to turn on again. Do you all think I need to wait until Saturday?
I would wait just to be sure.
was that intentional?
Some people will go to any length to get unusual pictures for the photofest.

I was an a/v tech for 15 years.
Well boys and girls it’s time for me to hit the sack.
Hope everyone has a good night in the pond.
Drat! everyone is going to miss my great recipe above! I’m just too slow at html.
I saw it and I’m about to go to bed. Now I’ll have nightmares!
