I am. At least for a while. What are you doing here on a weekend?
of work and now am home relaxing on my porch. I guess you’re not the only one violating your personal blogging rules lately 😉
I made up for it by canvassing for McCaskill today — in the rain. I got home about 3:00 and have been doing laundry (including all the laundry from my trip). So I think I’ve paid any necessary penalty 🙂
you had fun today. How was the calamari last night? I ended up going out for sushi because of you. A belated thanks for that, it was great.
I’ve tried to like sushi but I don’t. I know, I know … I just haven’t had the right sushi.
Well, I’ve tried at least 10 kinds of sushi from the right places (each time it’s different), and I just don’t like it.
The calamari was good, although as I told Omir, they used flash fried arugula instead of spinach, which wasn’t quite the same.
spinach but hardly ever eat it. With the headlines recently, I’ve been oddly craving it. Funny that.
Sushi is an acquired obsession but I go for the overall environment of the places.
Have you joined up with kid oakland’s Blogger’s United group yet? Lots of good coordination going on. I plan on writing up an invite soon.
I joined the DFI Link Bloggers United group and told him to put me on the “light” e-mail list, not the google group list or whatever it is.
Since I don’t have a blog and don’t write diaries I’m not sure what I add to the group. But I started to feel guilty that I wasn’t responding to his e-mails –<sigh> I have to get over the whole guilt thing.
But I like the fact that he does things — doesn’t just talk about them. So I joined. And then I gave a way-too-long explanation about why I’ll never have a blog or write substantive diaries; he was probably sorry he asked 😉
you? 😉
The google group is very email heavy but there are alot of good updates coming from across the country on how they are using blogs to promote campaigns and activism. It’s the meta of all meta, which is good if you like that sort of thing (I do). I actually meant to give you the wiki url earlier, that has the links to everything else: Blogs United wiki
are you making fun of my guilt complexes 🙂
Thanks for the link. I don’t think there are many Missouri bloggers in the group (actually, I don’t think there are many Missouri bloggers in general). I’ve organized a St. Louis dKos meetup for tomorrow night and I said I’d push the idea there. A few of the people have been covering the McCaskill race at dKos pretty extensively lately. But I don’t think they have their own blogs.
I promised k/o that I would do some promoting here in Az but haven’t gotten around to it. Today was my day to give that some attention. I’m the only Az person for the moment. I believe there are many members who only blog at community sites so I wouldn’t worry about not having your own personal blog, the conversation is what’s key and I think you would have practical insight to make things run more efficiently.
Okay, I’m done smooching your backside. 😀
but I still don’t want to get all those e-mails on meta topics 🙂
Even if you are a party to them 😉
Daily Digest
we get it — calamari stuffed with chicken and shrimp in a yellow curry sauce.
sounds like a mixture of divinity on a plate.
Hi Andi!
I’m glad to see you’re doing some relaxing — ’bout time.
that’s why I don’t have a desire to go out tonight, it’s doing something and I’m perfectly happy doing nothing for as long as possible. Family Man would be proud and possibly full of vapors if he could see my slackerly self at the moment.
I’m a big fan of doing nothing — even FM doesn’t do enough of nothing as far as I’m concerned (he’s way too helpful to all those drop-by relatives).
If I ever get to retire, doing nothing will be highest priority item on my to do list.
Is this what you had today Andi?
the picture at the top of your B is phenomenal (they all are, but WOW).
It’s good to see you! You’ve been missed around here and there lately … 🙂
I’ve been so damn busy that I don’t have much time but to lurk for a few and maybe drop a comment here and there. I hope things will slow down after our audits in a couple of weeks but I’ve been waiting for that slow down for the past several months. I’m having a quiet afternoon now, tho. I brewed up some green tea that I got from an asian market down the street and sitting on my porch enjoying the perfect weather. How goes it with you?
I hope it slows down for you too.
Sounds like you’re having a very pleasant afternoon tho, so that’s good … and it’s a treat to see you here on a Saturday … 🙂
Things are ok here … Getting cool w/ fall. Not looking forward to winter.
That’s some of what I had — we had dinner at a Thai restaurant in the nearby college town.
What else did you have?
And does Jim ever check his e/m? 🙂
fresh spring rolls, and a noodle dish.
Yes he does. Jim says (of course) that he was afraid to answer it in case I killed him or something — where he could have gotten an idea like that (and how does he think I would know)? Anyway, he’s answering it now.
to save all his answers until he gets to Chicago. If Olivia wants answers, she’ll know where to come. 🙂
You’re not, right? … 🙂
worried that I’m mad again or I’ll get mad. 😉
I had the best soup EVER, Tom Kha. Followed by Pad Woon Sen with shrimp.
I just ate my leftover pasta from last night — cappelini with crab and snow peas in a light red sauce.
I’m trying to decide what to do. I was supposed to go out later, but the person I was going with isn’t feeling well. But of course won’t make the decision to just cancel — so I’m supposed to hang around and wait to see if he feels better. pffft. I’m waayyy to nice a person.
I don’t feel like taking a shower if I’m not going anywhere. (I’m crabby, can you tell?)
the exact opposite problem today. I got invited to go out and have no desire to do so. Considering that I never go out anymore, perhaps you’re not the only one in a crabtacular mood 🙂
That time of the month, Manee?
in fact, it might be that time of the year. Hola!
Don’t take a shower. Sit around in sweats, eat ice cream and talk to us.
It would have to be virtual ice cream because I don’t have any.
I have low(er) fat mint choc. chip.
hmmm. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite ice cream flavor.
What kind of pj’s are you going to wear?
Mr. Nature is on his way to France, so probably my Indians tshirt and old unattractive underwear. 😉
reading that the Indians have moved their Spring Training back to Arizona, you should try and come out for some games. They’re alot of fun and the weather is perfect that time of year.
I didn’t know that! Back to Tucson? I’ve always wanted to go to spring training.
It looks like Goodyear, which is in the Phx area (blech). Either way the games are fun. We used to go watch the Cubs in Mesa when we were living up there. The Cactus League draws great teams, imo.
we ALL need to come to spring training with Manny.
are all most welcome, I have plenty of couch and carpet to provide 😉
And homemade salsa? And slobbering basset hounds?
going to be bitter, but Bud hardly slobbers. He’s also not very intrusive if you tell him to leave you alone. I couldn’t ask for a better behaved basset. 🙂
Homemade salsa would be in abundance!
And will tell you that I always stay at the Ritz — you have one in Tucson, right? 😉
it’s right next door to the No-Tell Motel. Come to think of it, it may be the Rits after all 😉
why didn’t he take YOU to France with him?
Paris is a VERY romantic city 🙂
He will be in Montpelier the whole week and will probably see nothing besides the hotel and the lab.
so?
YOU could go out and meet French Men.
You’re the nicest crabby person I know.
What am I? The crabbiest nice person you know?
This is like partly cloudy and partly sunny — I can never figure out which is which.
partly sunny is mostly cloudy – partly cloudy is mostly sunny. Got it?
I was trying to explain to someone the other day — I’m nice but I’m not friendly. I don’t understand why people don’t get the difference.
someone described me as really really nice and fun, but unapproachable. WTF?
people always describe me as unapproachable — but they’re right. I am unapproachable.
I’m not interested in people until I already know them. If that makes sense. It does to me 🙂
I think that’s why this place is great. You can fully vet someone before deciding if you want to meet them or not in RL.
True.
Then you find out they don’t want to meet you ::sniff::
And I find out you don’t want to sleep with me! :::sniff:::
Hey, this blog is good for deciding who to meet — but I don’t decide who to sleep with until we’ve met in person 🙂
People are always telling me that I’m scary — double WTF.
Scary? You’re too little to be scary.
Exactly. And I’m just as sweet as can be, too.
from kansas earlier this week, she has been super busy with life but she says hello. Yesterday was Diva’s birthday so she and friends were planning to provide cake and entertainment for her over the weekend. I left Diva a voicemail earlier so hopefully will get an update soon from her. She is finding helpful angels everywhere, which makes me extremely happy.
I just went to look at the Bud picture of the week — that was really mean. Poor Bud.
he howled at me afterwards but then we quickly reconciled. Nuthin’ initiates forgiveness better than food and attention.
that’s what works with me. Food and attention? I always forgive.
And backrubs. Don’t forget the backrubs.
no … backrubs always the OTHER person wants attention. Ultimately.
Dogs have it much better.
You’re right, of course.
I’d rather food and no attention. Money works too.
don’t leave!
you all left, didn’t you 🙁
but I’m back now too. Needed to continue with the Laundry From Hell.
It was like a horror movie for a moment. The heroine came back to the house … and everyone had disappeared!
I was off being decisive. I feel much better.
it gonna be?
pajamas, clubbing or heroin? oh wait, scratch that last one. 😉
I’d rather know I’m doing nuthin, than sit around and find out at 9:00 I have to get excited about something.
I just don’t understand people (men) who can’t express even an opinion on what they want to do. Please explain this to me.
fairly straightforward when it comes to planning so I’m not sure I’ll be of much help there. As far as general male flakiness, I think we’re just programmed that way and don’t even realize it’s a problem until it’s either brought to our attention in an argument or the lady takes a hike.
selective hearing problem.
brought to our attention in an argument
It always amazes me that the fact that it was brought up before the argument is forgotten. Only when it gets to the point of argument does the message get through
Sorry. You don’t have to answer for all men 🙂
that’s a relief. As for selective hearing, I don’t think that’s a condition reserved for males. ahem 😉
been the marmot.
hasn’t been around much lately. Or maybe not while I’ve been here.
caused quite a stir recently, I’ll try to hunt up a link. The hookah was involved.
enjoy
So shower or pj’s?
I suppose those aren’t mutually exclusive. But why get clean for nuthin 🙂
Showering at night has never made any sense to me. Why would I need to be clean just to go to bed?
but I love it when I have clean sheets and a clean me. It feels so good 🙂
Me too! But they have to be clean egyptian cotton sheets. I’m a sheet snob.
I’m going to have someone make my bed every day with fresh sheets. Like the Westin “heavenly beds”.
I’ll still shower myself — having someone clean me might be a little self-absorbed 🙂
That would be item #9732 on my list of things I’m going to do if I win the lottery.
What are the other 9731 things?
Or to make it easier, what is #8451?
I think that would be ‘have the grocery store deliver food so i never have to leave the woods.’
she just wants to emulate my ways with delivery men 🙂
I could never put anyone in my basement; it’s appalling.
That’s good – traumatized men are more compliant.
Get new collars for the dogs.
I’m rethinking your birthday present.
I found the perfect present for you (did I already tell you this?) When is your birthday?
I don’t know if I should tell you. I’m scared.
No, you’ll love it. At first you might wish I hadn’t given it to you … but then your true nature will overcome your good intentions and you will love it.
(And it’s nothing big .. I just saw it and new it was for you.)
I’m just unspeakably moved, and yet somehow still scared. It’s 12/26
I should have remembered that — you told me once before. A christmas baby 🙂
I should have been named Mary Magdalene.
whatcha gonna get her? Tell me, tell me. I won’t tell.
uh uh. It’s a surprise.
But I will tell you that you wouldn’t like it.
a dog collar? Really, I’m not into that.
That’s okay – Jim is.
you’ve been fooling around with one too many Jims and have gotten confused.
I’m not here.
neither
so we’re in the same place!
Why can’t I see you?
gonna open up another lounge.
The New Lounge is open
