Yep I can see fall has arrived here, but it keeps jumping back and forth so much. One day the high will be in the 70’s and the next the 90’s. I just wish it would get cold and stay there.

A brief on me; a ‘furriner’ from the northern fringes of Europe. Have lived in the US for 16 of the last 19 years, work for a large, multinational organization – mainly development/humanitarian work. I come to BT every day, mainly to read, but posting some comments and the occasional diary entry.

A little about me. I’m Family Man, FM for short, and I live in Alabama. I’m retired from the military and I mostly stay in the cafe. I venture out to the main pages and diaries from time to time.

Got my second of my 4 midterms back. Not happy at all with the grade.

It’s the one I knew that I screwed up on. I just made more mistakes than I had originally thought. At this point, I need to ace the last exam – just to claw back to a B+, probably.

I’m sorry. I remember you were concerned after that exam. So … now you know where your efforts will be focused until the end of the semester. Feel bad about it today and then put it behind you and move forward.

It’s just disconcerting…I feel like I’m back in my freshman year, where I was catching up on everything. Last year, I had no time constraints with studying, and I easily got A’s on every exam (except for Marketing). It’s just very, very frustrating.
I know. There’s nothing worse than a grade that you KNOW didn’t have to go the way it did. Just don’t let it get you too down and affect your whole attitude the rest of the semester.
And … you SHOULD have time constraints on studying because when you get out of school and into a job you’ll have LOTS of time constraints. So turn this around and learn from it.
I guess. I calculated my GPA is my worst-case scenario plays out with regards to my Finance courses (B in both of them), and I’m still floating above the magna line, so I guess it’s okay.
Stilll annoyed, though.

I don’t. I usually end up doing something stupid and not focusing at all. I’ve spent today butchering an entire batch of pancakes, playing GTA, and hurting my hand when punching the refrigerator while butchering said batch of pancakes. Not one to take lack of excellence well.
I have no idea what GTA is but … mmmmmm, pancakes. Nice comfort food 🙂

I used to have a friend that always made A’s and he never studied. I asked him how he did it, and he said he just listened in class.
Good grades always came really hard to me and I had to study countless hours. Needless to say, I hate people that can just listen and get straight A’s. 🙂
I could get away with that in high school, but college is a whole different ballgame.
In high school I didn’t really try, so the grades weren’t the best. In college I had to pay for everything, so my whole attitude changed after the first semester. It was really hard to all of a sudden have study habits when you never had them before.
Hey, if your too smart you won’t have any common sense. I’ll take a B+ with a big dose of common sense over someone who…so smart they can’t figure out how to tie their shoe laces.
OK, enough niceness to Psi 😉
I’ve got to go. I’m supposed to phone bank tonight. God I HATE phone banking.
