Do you have your photos selected?
Have you figured out the templates?
Do you know when to post your fOtodiary?
We’re getting close now: the fOtofair is this coming weekend. If you answered no to any of those questions, don’t fear! There’s still time to get involved, and the fOtofair team is here to help.
For this final diary, we’ll post the links to all the previous diaries, take a look at next steps and what to expect this w/e, and open the diary to any questions and/or comments.

- You’ve selected your photos and uploaded to your photohost. Not yet? See here for info on photohosts [link].
- You’ve created your clickable thumbnails. Not yet? Click here for instructions on how to create clickable thumbnails [link].
- You may have created photo comment templates for each of your photos and saved them to a text file. Not yet? If you haven’t tried out the template yet, feel free to practice in the comments section below. Here’s a link to the template diary [link].
- When you create your fOtodiary on the day of the fair, you’ll need to use the first template (Diary Template or the one with the red box). Click here for the diary template [link]. Don’t forget to add your own title and tell us a little something about your fOtodiary, such as when and where the photos were taken or the equipment used, etc.
- On the day of the fair, after you’ve posted your fOtodiary and added your photos (so your diary is complete and ready for visitors :), send us the link to make sure your fOtodiary is added to the master diary. Send to the fOtofair2006 email with YourUsername in the subject line.
- If you need help with any aspect of your diary, at any point, don’t hesitate to send an SOS: Email us!
::
- Feel free to post your diary any time starting on Saturday October 28th — there is no specific starting time.
- If you run into any problems while creating your diary, don’t panic! Send us an email or post your question in the cafe and together we’ll figure it out. 🙂
- If you would like to post a diary but are worried about creating thumbnails or templates, please send us an email. We want to make sure that everyone who wishes to participate, does!
- The fOtofair team will create a master diary that links to everyone’s fOtodiaries. We hope to have this diary recommended so that it’s on the rec list. Individual diaries should not be recommended. We know that this goes against the BT spirit, but we don’t want fOtodiaries taking up all of the slots on the rec lists. So, leave comments and 4s in lieu of recommends please!

We’ve provided a lot of details up-front this year in the hopes that people might learn something that could be used outside the fOtofair, such as posting photos online and using html. Hopefully we haven’t confused you.
So, that’s it. This has been an iterative process, building on last year’s fair, so any comments on what has worked or hasn’t would be helpful. The floor is now open to any questions, comments, or suggestions with one final request, and the most important of all:
Have fun with it!
