I don’t know about all of you, but here in Michigan the weather is CRAPPY, with a capital CRAP. So, let’s get away to some fun beaches and waterfronts for the day.
It was fantastic! I don’t know why, I expected it to be a bit jerky, but the ride was very smooth. I would do it again in a second, and I highly recommend the experience.
Well, not really. This is Pie de la Cuesta, which is to the North and West of Acapulco. Here, the water really is the Pacific Ocean, and not Acapulco Bay.
One of my oldest pictures, this was actually taken with an old Advantix camera, and then scanned in about 6 years later. This is near a friend of mine’s cottage on Lake Superior.
beautiful, ejmw! I spent several years near the Atlantic as a child in Long Island and more with the USN after school and on the Florida east coast in the 60’s & early 70’s. I really miss being near the big water.
Thanks b2, I definitely have had some great times on these trips.
I can’t wait to get home so I can see your pictures from Utah. I remember the first time I drove through that state, I thought “Damn, why didn’t anybody TELL me this state was so gorgeous?!?”. I’ve been back a few times since, it’s still one of my favorite states for scenery (and one of my least favorite for buying beer!).
I looked at your miscellaneous diary first and I thought — I can’t BELIEVE he didn’t post any of pictures of beaches. I’m glad you did a whole diary for them.
This was my first time parasailing, above the beach at Acapulco in January 2006.

What a great vantage point! What fun!

After Acapulco, let’s hop a bus or plane and go over to the other side of Mexico and hit Cancun! I love the blue of the ocean in this photo.

This is one of the beaches on Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, Spain. You can see the outline of another island, La Gomera, in the background.

Still on Tenerife, another of the beautiful beaches. Los Gigantes are the cliffs you see (also the name of a nearby town).

This is Lake Granby, on the southwestern side of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Our day here at the beach is coming to an end, sadly. This is back in Pie de la Cuesta, as the sun sets behind the clouds and into the ocean.

Wow … can’t imagine how great it was ‘live’ … Wondeful photo!
The sun sets over Isla Roqueta

Finally, our day at the beach comes to a close in Seattle, Washington as the sun sets.

You get around!
There aren’t a lot of things I splurge on, but traveling is one of them…If I don’t go somewhere every 4 to 6 months I start going a little crazy ๐
YAY BEACHES! These were like soul food, ejmw, thanks so much for this theme and these images.

Gorgeous!
Hey ej, these are great pictures — just looking makes me feel very good (and like I ought to be in a late night FBC).
Hehe, yeah I think I’ve posted most of these at some point in the FBC…I guess I need to go on another vacation to get some new ones ๐
I only recognize a few of them but I definitely associate you and beach pictures and FBC at night.
These are wonderful photos, emjw. You’ve had some great trips.

I love those sunset beach shots.

I figured if I didn’t do beaches first, there would be a veritable uproar ๐
Tomorrow I think I’m going to have National Parks and then “other destinations” or something.
Life’s a beach! Glorious.
