Sounds like it to me also, but unfortunately not today. I’ve got to run around town today getting bills paid and then take FMom to a PT and Doctor’s appointment. No naps until later in the afternoon. 🙁
however, I don’t know if you’ve heard of this service that’s available — you buy little pieces of paper with words and pictures on them and put them on envelopes and write addresses on the envelopes and put a check for the bill inside the envelope and leave the envelope in a little box attached to your house with a flag on it and put the flag up and someone comes along and takes the envelope and someone else take the envelope from them and give the envelope to another person who gives the envelope to the person who needs to be paid. And it really works! Honest, I’ve tried it several times and it worked every time!
The bills I pay downtown are right by the post office, so I figure why waste a stamp when it’s within walking distance. You know it’s close by when I say it’s within walking distance, like next door. :~)
It’s 33, so a tad nippy especially since I have this nasty habit of wearing a coat or hoodie and then leaving it in the car. So now all of my coats are in the van and I had to wrap up in a blanket to do my morning stand-and-watch-HJ-pee outing.
I’m waiting for the sun to come up to have another look before I make my decision. I hate shoppng though, and I’d like to have this done, so that probably pushes me a little closer to yes, unless I get feedback telling me to keep looking. (I just started rug shopping yesterday.) 🙂
I hate shopping myself, with the exception of grocery shopping. I pretty much know what I want when I walk into a grocery store.
Yep it will be busy today and then later on today when the relatives show up. I feel like I’m leaving the slackerly world behind. Can’t let that happen. 🙂
How’s your day today? Are you going to be really busy or do you finally get to slack some?
I have 2 deadlines coming up, one of which is for Tuesday (of course!).
But I’ switching to the easier of the 2 projects for the next few days (the other is tedious because a newbie who is no longer with the company wrote the outline), so that will make it seem more slackerly.
But of course, I have all sorts of home chores today too. And grocery shopping.
Reguardless of what you’ve got to get done, take some time-out slacking time for yourself.
After FMom’s appointment, I got to stop and get groceries before we come home. The only thing I don’t like about grocery shopping is I always go in with a budget, and I’m always very high over the limit I give myself.
I love the rug. But my first thought was that it didn’t go with the aqua in the bookcases, which I also love. But I really like the cabiny feel of the rug, fireplace, coffee table, etc. together.
yeah, that’s what I thought: not good with the aqua, but great with everything else. Most of the stuff that I’ve seen (in my single night of shopping) that would go with the aqua I think is too light for the traffic in my house. Or too taupe/chocolate brown for the color of my bookcases, logs, and fireplace (I brought one like that home too.).
Okay, I think it looks fine. OTOH, I really advise not trusting my opinion since I think any rug looks fine as long as it isn’t a very shaggy, multi-colored shag rug (the rug that was in the first house we bought and which we replaced in about a nanosecond).
Personally I think the Catfish pulls the whole room together :o) I would ditch the bookcases and install a giant fishtank. KNUCKLEHEAD can help with that. Maybe a tigerskin rug to accentuate the stripes on the fish. A few cane poles with hooked catfish of course, leaning against the sides of the mantle. And last, but not least, a Bull Moose head over the mantle :o)
Good morning to all! Happy rugging, CG. We actually got a nice quality wool rug at Home Depot a couple of years ago that goes well with the colors in the room that we addd onto our house. Many southwestern colors, of course. And, a fruitful day to those paying bills.
Getting up and stirring on the Left Coast — gray and a little drippy, and the weather outside’s not much better lol. Need to get some work done today around here before heading out to spouse’s doctor appointment and grocery shopping.
Bed is made, which should keep us from crawling back in.
I’m ready for the weekend, although it’s supposed to be rainy all the way through. Give me a nice warm fireplace, a loving family, a computer with a live internet connection, and a few bottles of Mom’s Good Old Fashioned Elephant Tranquilizer and I should be all set.
We’re actually down into mid 30’s this morning. Yee Ha!
Well that crisp air certainly woke you up. It’s 21 here which just makes me want to go snuggle up with the dogs.
Yep cold air always get me going, plus I woke up at 12:30 am and haven’t been back to sleep. Got a lot of cleaning around the house done though. 🙂
I’ve been wondering if we will see the twenties or teens this winter. I heard they’re predicting a warmer winter.
like time for a long nap.

That system must of not made it down here.

Hah!
Good morning. Are you have a nippy morning like FM’s?
It’s 33, so a tad nippy especially since I have this nasty habit of wearing a coat or hoodie and then leaving it in the car. So now all of my coats are in the van and I had to wrap up in a blanket to do my morning stand-and-watch-HJ-pee outing.
I’m all bundled up and heading out to walk with the dogs (giddy’s is barking and hopeful is howling). See ya.
Tad nippy here this AM.
Oh, and I need some decorating advice, if you all don’t mind. 🙂
Are you still trying to decide on the rug or not?
I’m waiting for the sun to come up to have another look before I make my decision. I hate shoppng though, and I’d like to have this done, so that probably pushes me a little closer to yes, unless I get feedback telling me to keep looking. (I just started rug shopping yesterday.) 🙂
I see you have a busy day planned.
I hate shopping myself, with the exception of grocery shopping. I pretty much know what I want when I walk into a grocery store.

How bout something in that aged-looking camel and tan with a tad of the cranberry that you thought might look good as an accent color?
That’s kind of what I was thinking of to begin with, but I really like the red rugs. I keep thinking a lot of the others look washed out.
Do you have a Capel Rugs near you? Thousands and thousands of rugs. I spent an entire day there picking out mine a couple years ago. 🙂
You’d have to be pretty desperate to ask me for decorating advice so I’m assuming this is a general call for assistance from people with taste.
What did the people on the tv think (that’s why they’re turned to look at it, right)?
I knew someone would pick at that…
I am desperate, the old Home Depot berber I got “till the kids and dogs stop spilling” is shot, and I can’t stand it anymore.
Okay, I think it looks fine. OTOH, I really advise not trusting my opinion since I think any rug looks fine as long as it isn’t a very shaggy, multi-colored shag rug (the rug that was in the first house we bought and which we replaced in about a nanosecond).
Hah! The good old days of raking out your shag carpet. 🙂
Shag carpeting…now there’s an idea…NOT. 🙂

Hmmm…so when are you coming down here to be my interior designer? 🙂
I’ve done enough already, don’t you think?!
you obviously haven’t seen the peas in the pod and the antique brass and crystal chandelier in my kitchen.
Peas in the pod?
i think a buffalo head makes a stronger statement.
George is starting to whine to go out.
I’ll see ya’ll in a little while.
Is he done whining yet?
Hi Boran. George never stops whinning. He just gets louder when he wants something.
Umm, that reminds me of someone but I’m not at liberty to say whom. 😉

Okay, breakfast then work…
Hi Cali. Sorry your weather is so de-motivating today.
