this diary is dedicated to all who suffer because of war
we love and support our troops, just as we love and support the Iraqi people – without exception, or precondition, or judgment
we have no sympathy for the devil

Looking to turn the tables on his critics, Bush accused Democrats of attacking him on Iraq without having a plan of their own just days before key US elections.

Sympathy for the Devil
by Jagger/Richard – The Rolling Stones
Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
Ive been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man’s soul and faith
And I was round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a generals rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached Bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
’cause I’m in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I’ll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, what’s my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what’s my name
I tell you one time, you’re to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
What’s me name
Tell me, baby, what’s my name
Tell me, sweetie, what’s my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah

The candle that DianeL first lit many months ago, and which has become such an important part of these diaries since, is still available here.
You can copy that image into your own comment (you can leave it on my server), craft your own image, and/or rate this one – not for mojo, but to leave a small mark after taking this moment – as a sign that you know, but do not approve, and are not resigned.

Professor Juan Cole’s top 10 ways – how to tell we’ve lost in Iraq
the other rats tell all, – full article in December. Excerpts here,
Vanity Fair’s: Neo culpa
H/T:Andrew Sullivan
Personally, this article tells more than one can see. First we see a young man crying and with his nail bitten hands in front of his face we see anguish and hurt.
Second we see the two of the most hated men in the world. They both are happy and smiling. Both are there for their own personal photo op and love doing it too.
NOw let me ask you with of these do you see the reality of life in….. Of course it is number one. This death and destruction came at the hands…personal hands of those other two depicted in this article. It is as plain as day, if you can see through the fog of deceit in those other two.
Oh for the life of me, I can not see how those Iraqis can live through the horrendous actions of this war and still be sane. I am going nuts for them, I suppose. I want the two that started this war and others simply gone. I want them on their way to jail for the rest of their natural lives. They have been dangerous to the entire world, and the world wants them stopped and ridded of for everyone’s good. Just ask the world. I am very embarrassed/angry, as to the fact that my president could have done such a thing to ppl who did not ask for this murderous war. I hope the military does coup the WH and soon, for we and the world can not stand one more minute of their ghastly deeds.
Thank you Rub for your persistent review of this war. Thank you so very much..
That is a moving series of pictures. Sadness to rage. What a tragedy for that poor child. What horrible men who fuck with children’s lives.
the Devil is certainly getting his way.
VOTE! Only then can we impeach the bastards.
