Okay, let’s have some fun and blow off some steam. We can only make predictions for so long. My predictions are in: 30-36 house seats and a 50-50 Senate with a recount mess in Missouri. We’ll see if I am Nostradamus or Nostradumbest. Rather than focus on that tonight, let’s focus on whose concession speeches we would most like to see. I have a top ten:
1) Rick Santorum- He’s my Senator. He considers homosexuality to be morally equivalent to bestiality. He went to visit Terri Schiavo. He doesn’t even live in the state but makes us pay to home school his kids. I don’t hate a lot of people, but I come pretty close to hating Rick Santorum. He’s the number three ranking member of the Senate and he would be slated for the number two spot if he won. I don’t much care about his opponent. I am very much looking forward to watching Little Ricky say ‘goodbye’ to Pennsylvanians though. I hope that he gets beat so badly that it wipes the smirks right off both his and George Bush’s faces.
2) George Allen- This race is still a squeaker. Allen was hoping to use it as a launching pad for his 2008 Presidential campaign. Instead, his reputation has been utterly destroyed. If nothing else, he will not be running for President. Allen has been exposed as an old school racist and a major jerk. It will be sweet justice if he loses.
3. Katherine Harris and Kenneth Blackwell. I lump these two together because I hold them more responsible for the last six years than any other two individuals. I am very much hoping that the cable news channels carry their concession speeches.
4. Heather Wilson of New Mexico.
Nuff said.
5. J.D. Hayworth of Arizona. J.D. is a former shockjock, a major mediawhore, a liar, and an overall corrupt bastard. No one deserves their comeuppance any more than Hayworth.
6. Richard Pombo of California. Pombo is the Chairman of the House Resources committee and perhaps the biggest enemy of the environment not named Dick. Oh wait!! He is named Dick.
7. Marilyn Musgrave of Colorado, who literally thinks gays are a bigger threat than terrorists. Get her outta here.
8. Mean Jean Schmidt of Ohio. She called John Murtha a coward on the House floor and had to ask that her remarks be stricken from the record. I have nothing but contempt for her.
9. Barbara Cubin of Wyoming. She told her bed-ridden Libertarian opponent that he should be smacked in the mouth. She holds Dick Cheney’s old seat and that is all the symbolism I need to include this race.
10. Mike Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania. Because I plan on being at Patrick Murphy’s headquarters and it will ruin my whole evening if Fitzpatrick wins.
What’s your top ten? You can do a list of who you want to win too.
I just want to add an honorable mention for Dennis Hastert. If he loses I may float all the way home.
honorable mention: Roy Blunt
Ya just gotta figure a way to include lieberman, ya just gotta find a way!
Lieberman loss would be oh so sweet.
Bilbry, just another corrupt former lobbyist Repug.
Santorum makes my skin crawl. For that matter so does Allen. He is a puke for sure.
I can honestly say I will be so glad when Wed. rolls around and I wake up to see that we have taken over both the house and senate. Sweet!!
BTW- Markos will be on Larry King tonight.
I just want to see Pombo and Lieberman go down.
I LIEberman is a long-shot, but it would be sweet justice.
im looking forward to santorums consession speech tomorrow night and caseys in a fair and open primary 6 years from now.
good luck on that patrick murphy race….its not looking great but i think either way he has a future.
and i want to say good job to joe sestak and the delaware party democratic committee as they get rid of that kook curt weldon…i wish paul scoles had gotten the support from the party that joe sestak got and was sad last year when he stepped aside to let joe have a try at unseating weldon….but sestak is pretty impressive and paul scoles remains one of the classiest people i know and im writing in his name for senate instead of voting for casey but still against santorum (i just cant bring myself to vote for someone who cant mind their own business)
im picking up my ex husband and my 82 year old neighbor at 7am and we are going to go vote…then im heading back to delaware and officially moving here by getting my de drivers license and taking advantage of the cheap car insurance.
im writing in his name for senate instead of voting for casey but still against santorum (i just cant bring myself to vote for someone who cant mind their own business)
I hear you on this. It is tough, isn’t it when principles mean nothing and political strategy runs the show! I begin to get that why bother feeling when I think of Bob Casey’s win as a good thing! Now just where can that lead for a secular minded person who thinks politicians should leave their religion in their respected churches, or consider another line of work other than lawmaking their religion on the rest of us!
to Pat Murphy when I went to the Act Blue page — I figured it was the best way to balance out the sour taste in the mouth of Casey…
I keep toying with the idea of just holding my nose and voting for Casey. However after reading your comment about writing in a name, I think I will do the same! Good idea and maybe good therapy for me anyway.
I like your write in idea. Why deprive myself of a vote against Santorum just because Chuck Schumer’s an ass?
Indeed, which is why I am writing in Cindy Sheehan in lieu of voting for DiFi. Sadly, I wish California had someone like Lamont so that we, too, could attempt to wake the woman up.
is engaging in dirty tricks.
These robo-calls version of dirty tricks are happening in at least 53 competitive House races (more in my comment to Steven’s story this morning).
it was widespread, if we had an independent media in this country that would be the headline story tonight and tomorrow morning. Alas…
but if I did Dave Reichert, Doc Hastings and Cathy McMorris would be on it, just because they’re from my state.
Reichert is very vulnerable and I really want to see Darcy Burner get the seat over there across the pond. McMorris is less vulnerable but Goldmark could still beat her, and Hastinss is even less vulnerable. But that doesn’t stop me from wishing.
The only one I’d add to these lists is Michele “I’m crazy for Jesus” Bachman here in MN. Patty Wetterling, her Dem opponent is trailing in the polls, but I’m still hoping. This woman is completely nuts. In the state legislature, her only concerns have been lowering taxes and a ban on gay marriage. And the quote in her name above is something she said at one of our mega churches a few weeks ago. Anyone who admits to being crazy doesn’t deserve to be elected to anything!!
i just realized i have to write someone in for rendell too….since he and schumer fucked us all over when they cleared the field for casey…maybe i will write in booman for governor.
Roskam — who has no military experience — if only for his last-minute blind-siding of opponent Duckworth — a former helicopter pilot in Iraq — with a VFW endorsement and for suggesting she wasn’t strong on national security issues.
I’ll list the people I want to win:
I predict that we will pick up 20-30 in the house, and we will get PA, OH, RI, MT, and MO. I still think we have a chance in VA and TN and that either of them is number 51, we need both to offset a CT for Lieb victory.
PS Booman, I’ll see you at the party. I’ll have a car for the day, so let me know if you need a ride back to Center City, or indeed if you need an early ride up to NE Philly to help out there….
Will do, and I hope it is a party and not a wake.
The Republican majority in the NY state senate.
Let’s see what Governor Spitzer can do with both houses controlled by Dems.
Top ten to lose tomorrow;
1, Ned Lamont
2, Jean Schmidt
3, J.D. Hayworth
4, Little Ricky Santorum
5, Katherine Harris
6, Tom Reynolds
7, Tom DeLay’s seat
8, Mark Foley’s seat
9, George Allen
10, Ned Lamont again!!!
This to me would be the ultimate
Ok, here’s my top 10 list:
Anyway…Ooops! That was 13. My bad. :<)
Did I mention george allen?
Well I dont know if I have TEN on my list, but if I lived in Maine I’d sure be voting for Phillip Morris Napier.
Saw him on the Maine governor’s debate (thanks C-SPAN love u!) and he was rocking the house. That guy is no tool of special interests for sure. I wish the Senate was 100 people like Napier and Sanders (and Wellstone etc). That would be a government for the people BY the people.
Pax
George W. Butch’s resignation speech.
All the rest…just hors d’oeuvres.
AG
What about Dick? He’s gotta go first.
That’s no tidbit, it’s the whole stinking carcass.
Let’s remember the departure of the corrupt Mr. Agnew – that was fun.
