Morning Andi. I actually voted on Friday. Not only that, I made sure my daughter filled out her absentee ballot last night.
Hi Andi. It is an anxious morning. When are you voting?
I think I may just head over at 7, although I usually wait until later, after most folks have gone to work.
I’m going about the same time. It’s raining so it’ll be tto dark to go for a walk and 7 is usually a good time — after the early morning wave and before the go to work at 8 wave.
< sniff sniff >
What’s that I smell?
Why, it smells like VICTORY!
Although it could be pancakes. Hard to tell at this time of the morning.
Hi Omir. You’re up early, or should I say late? 🙂
Up really early or not sleeping?
Sssh, the evil eye (or the repub vote stealing squad) might hear you.
Morning Andi. Yeah, I know, I’m tempting fate. It’s just my irrational exuberance leaking out, I guess.
Actually if I had a few hundred thousand dollars, I’d bet it all on the Republicans to keep congress. See, that way, if I lose, I get my country back, so it’s a worthwhile investment. If I win, yeah I still lose, but I’ll have enough money to go live like a king in Patagonia (Princess Bride reference).
And with that, I’m going back to sleep. I have to go to the eye doctor in about 5 hours. (Probably a routine visit, but with my eyes, nothing is certain.)
Victory will be sweet!!!!!! I can not wait till georgie boys hands are tied for two years!!!!
Don’t jinx us!
[spits twice]
[throws salt over shoulder]
[rubs statuette of St Willibrord]
Now everybody chant om mani padme hom nine times each.
BroFel! Good to see you!
Good to “see” you too! What’s the haps? Voted yet?
Good morning everyone.
I hope everyone is and stays happy today.
I’m not a happy person now but I hope to play one who is IRL by tomorrow.
Did you get any sleep?
I’m hoping with you.
I got a little and will probably head back to sleep in a minute. I just wanted to jump in and say good morning before I did.
Hi, and bye, all of you. Got to get out, vote, teach, and try to round up a few strays into the polls this pm.
Go listen to Clinton’s end-of-the-day speech posted on DK (likely several diaries there by by now, lowkell had a good link). He will make you feel better.
Hope all of us have a better evening and less anxious morning tomorrow than today!
We’ll be watching anxiously from here as well. Good luck!
Oliva, I hope those are “Amurcan” flowers. The Neo-cons and the Fox crew are looking for a reason to invade Canada and secure our northern border. The whole Nunavat thing has Cheney twitchy. He is 1/2% convinced that the native populations in the US will look at Nunavit and be inspired to demand huge tracts of our God Given, hard won territory. If he gets to 1%, look out. Video surveillance evidence that Canadian floral photographers are using Canadian flowers to influence Amurcan elections may just open a new front in the war on
freedomterror. When I met Mr. Nature he was a staunch republican. By the time of the 2004 presidential election I had converted him to the point of voting for Kerry/Edwards. This morning he asked me to print out the list of democratic judges on the ballot where party affiliations aren’t listed.
Heh. Now onto husband #3? Converting repubs, one husband at a time. 🙂
for polyandry.
One is enough for me. Unless I could have a husband to squish the spiders, one to take the trash out, one who knew how to fix the cars, one who had lots of money, and one who was great in the sack.
for polyandry.
Damn I would be happy with a boyfriend with a job, a drivers lic.,and his own car who can read, write, votes democrat and can put up with me. LOL
if the second was Keith Olbermann. 🙂
Damn, I’ve always had a thing for men with big…errr, ahem, brains…
Heading out as soon as spouse is out of shower — was up late last night then spent the morning involved in the pre-election crap…we are such news (or non-news) junkies around here…
Morning Folks!!!!! I voted the first day of early voting but I did take all my yard signs this am and put them at the local polling place. I will be GOTV phonebanking later. I am home sick with the flu. My cold just got worse and worse and now I am out of commission for a while.
Your body is telling you to slow the fuck down! 🙂
Are you going to take at least one day off or are you going to jump right into 2008?
ROTFLMAO!!!!! I have already been asked to work on 3 campaigns for 08 but told them to leave me the hell alone till Febuary. LOL I plan to take the next couple of months and get my design sites up to speed and redo a lot of the designs. I still have not done my holiday designs for this year. LOL
Take care of yourself. Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you Andi!!!!
Here is the link to the ecard I sent everyone in my email list last night.

The whole world’s watchin’!
Our thoughts are with you.
Cheer up!
Thanks! The home team definitely needs a win today. 🙂
DrMc and I were voters 7 and 8 at our precinct and our equally liberal neighbors were 9 and 10.
I was #213 – seems like a good turnout despite the rain.
Great!!!! Don’t you live in NC or is that Cabin???? We have to help find a decent candidate to run against Elizabeth Dole and get that carpet bagging bitch out of the Senate!!!!
North Raleigh. I agree about Elizabeth Dole. But remember NC voted for Jesse Helms until he was like 112 years old.
I know but at least that asshole was from NC not some carpet bagger sent in by the RNC. I hated Jessie with a white hot passion and think Elizabeth is actually worse than he was. I saw her on Meet the Press Sunday and almost threw my coffee cup through the screen.
salute at the TV screen so much, I think I’ve sprained both middle fingers… lol
Hooray for that! We’re in a college town which means the profs vote very early and the students don’t start till after noon, so it’s hard to gauge things this early. On the other hand it’s rare for us to be over number five if we get in as early as we did today. I’m hopeful.
I am just glad you voted and that your neighbors were there also!!!! I do feel a change is about to happen and I am very excited!!!!
And let me take this opportunity to thank you for the absolutely amazing amount of work you’ve done to move things in the left direction. You’ve been amazing.
Thanks!!! I will be doing even more in the next few years to finish taking our country back!!!!
I’m down from an XXL to an XL, I’m coming over to your sites so I can upgrade my T-shirt collection; I could use some conversation starters at the Y… 😉
CNN is reporting receiving many reports of irregularities in Delaware county, IN. Some 70 polling places failed to open due to software problems. Muncie area. Is that mainly African American, I wonder?
Oh God. And the GOP website is dedicated to the “inaccuracy” of exit polls in previous elections that we all widely regard as stolen.
seems they are at it again. If the polling place opens late by law it has to stay open late to make up for time lost to voters!!! We cannot let the bastards steal another election!!!!
Sending the final revisions to my editor and a multi-book proposal to my agent. Back in a little while.
I still have the jitters! Reading the local rag this morning, I noticed one huge problem with the way a voter was handled at her precinct. Called the local elections office and reported it so they can notify their workers that they have the rules wrong. It’s going to be a long day!
Absolutely, ManE. I don’t believe we’ll really know anything at all by day’s end — meaning this ‘long day’ may be a few days (if not weeks) long.
Just heard that some absentee ballots in OH won’t be counted for almost 2 weeks.
Talk about a faisco.
Good day, dear pond-mates. ‘Tis a grey, soggy afternoon here in South FL, coupled with attendant assurances by interested officials that the state elections apparatus is in real spiffy shape.
Thank you so much — once again — for your flowers, Miss O. Nothing soothes the agitated soul like gazing into Creation’s eyes.
{{{my dear purveyor of truth in beauty}}}
I’ve missed you the last few times you’ve been by.
It’s gray and wet here too and the trees are nearly bare and what leaves are left are cracked and brown and altogether that sums up how I feel today. So maybe this pic from a few weeks back will set a different mood for both of us.
Do you feel cracked and brown? 🙂
Been raining steadily since dawn, but it’s pretty warm so hopefully only the red people will stay home.
no I feel grey, wet, stripped bare, and cracked and brown and I can’t effing concentrate on effing work.
Or maybe they’ll go out in the rain and melt (it’s the lefty reverse rapture).
I can’t effing concentrate either. I’m about to effing give up for the day and do something more productive.
boss just asked me for an effing essload of information right before my effing lunchbreak. eff that! i’m off to graze
Got anything good in mind? I guess I could out and rake 40 acres of leaves — it wouldn’t be productive but it would definitely keep me busy.
I think I’m going to take the boy to Borat after dinner so I don’t obsess about the returns.
I’ll have Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars to distract me — unless I decide to tivo them and compulsively watch the returns.
That sounds like a good idea. (But I’m saving that idea in case there’s a recount.)
There’s a long scene in it with two naked men wrestling – that simulates sex. One guy’s privates are pixelated out, but the other one is so fat there’s no need. This comes courtesy of the older Nature boy.
I should’ve called in sick…
I have that queasy stomach feeling as well. What’s funny is that by watching Fox news you’d never know it was election day. The other two are showing nonstop election coverage. Maybe Fox knows something?
well, if the story of the day is voter intimidation and suppression then I’m not surprised Faux is pretending that everything’s fine and dandy.
I’m sick to my stomach of the vigilante groups harassing voters here in my city. MALDEF has alerted the peeps at TPMmuckraker to an armed idiot with an American Flag bandana videotaping and following people at the polls. Rarrrrr >:-[
Is that idiot staying outside the ‘safety zone’ or whatever it is? He’s armed and videotaping people!?!
he’s following people around and he’s not alone. I’m pissed…
I just read it. OMG – keep an eye on the situation? WTF?
Heinous.
Manee, is your blog down?
although with Blogger who knows… Warden the Racist just left another comment, I think I’m going to have to ban his IP address. damn it
Yeah, Blogger hates me.
Hill Street Blues used to say, “Let’s be careful out there…”
This shit makes me sick — we’re killing and being killed to bring democracy to Iraq, but we can’t get democracy here in the freakin’ Yew Ess of AAA…
Now I’m cranky…or maybe I’m just hungry…
Britney filed for divorce. If she and K-fed can’t make it what hope is there for any of us? Sigh.
That’s the first smart thing she’s done in years. Good for her.
and not doing a very job of it. I want this over.
apparently the exit polling data is making the rounds so I’ll open up happy hour
to the Froggy Bottom Election Party
