I forgot to tell ya’ll earlier, but I have to take FMom to an appointment this afternoon. I’ll be gone from about 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Could ya’ll keep an eye out for me.
‘Morning, folks — good to see you, as always.
Glad we’ve overcome dramatic weather events to join hands once again over these sacred tables.
Intense weather here very late last night — almost continual lightning & incredible thunder, little spritzles of rain. Very dramatic.
Apparently, steamy South Florida is now under a ‘low-water watch’ due to lack of rain (the step before mandatory conservation) — while the northern mountains brace for flooding due to too much rain, when there should be snow & frozen ground.
Yep, that’s the concern in the Catskills too — the ground is completely saturated & two full days of rain are expected (the type of rain that’s caused destructive flooding in the past).
Are they expecting snow there soon?
When I went for this morning’s walk, the ground felt like a sponge. And it was really hard to walk down hillsides without slipping. But as a bonus the lovely sound of rushing water was everywhere.
One of the world’s most beautiful sounds, as far as I’m concerned. I’m meant to live where I can hear it, according to all psychic indications.
Always love hearing about your woodland walks, Andi. Soon enough, I’ll be picking myself up by the bootstraps & heading back home to do the same. Now all I need are a few pennies for boots ..
Gorgeous, Andi. Thank you!!
If good feelings could provide continual electric power, you’d have all you need from me — despite what Mother wreaks.
As for my personal power outage: yep, I’ve decided to return north as soon as pos$ible. As for winter, I don’t give a hoot! Lost my old abode, as you know & have nothing built on my land (flooding prevented it), but I’ll manage a room somewhere, likely in/near some town or other ’til I can secure wheels.
The rustbucket I was driving there this summer just went for $40 in the local paper. Worth every penny of it, too!
Indeed it does.
It also helps to have ‘let go’ of the idea that I’d bring my (newly widowed) Mom back north with me. Despite my encouragement, she’s not at all ready to relocate. Ergo, I go — flannels be damned!
I hope so too, FM! Thanks again for good thoughts.
Actually, I do like the beach & sea, under certain conditions (ie, not crowded or dirty). Sunshine’s good too, but I like a little variation sometimes!
Yesterday the tornado sirens went off all day. Daughter’s boyfriend has a brother who lives where the tornado hit yesterday in Montgomery. It broke all the windows in their apartment and sent their couch out one of them. Everybody heading there today to see what can be done.
That’s how I like to wake up — with the battery backup warnings going off.
See ya all whenever I get electrified again.
Morning Andi.
Sorry to hear there’s no power. See ya when the house lights up.
Good morning! Everyone (?).
Morning ask. Are you ready for a slackerly day?
Afraid not.
Heading in now to a very busy day.
Good morning ask! Ready for the last sunny day before the weekend?
Sunny? You’ve got sun?
Hm, totally grey outside and rain forecast for tonight.
Well, the weather here at the cabin does have a mind of it’s own sometimes. Guess I better get outside for my walk while I can.
We do have rain forecast for tonight.
More rain for us today … it’s been a rainy fall here.
I thought ya’ll were supposed to be under 10 feet of snow by now.
Thankfully … the longer we go w/out is fine w/ me! 😀
I’m off … see ya later!
See ya. Have a good day at work. If that’s possible.
Though perhaps not in the cafe which is … empty?
Hi Andi,
Seems there was a small band here, but ll heading for work now. As am I. Have a great day!
Yep it has been slow going this morning.
I forgot to tell ya’ll earlier, but I have to take FMom to an appointment this afternoon. I’ll be gone from about 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Could ya’ll keep an eye out for me.
Assuming I have power (there’s more bad weather forecast), no problem.
I can keep an eye out too.
Thanks Andi and CG.
Good to have to you back … 🙂
I wouldn’t mind the power loss so much if only it would happen after I made the coffee.
A teaspoon of instant coffee taken straight usually does it for hardcore coffee drinkers.

Good Gaia!
We’re experiencing the soggy ground here from all the rain, and worries about what will happen when the snow comes. Ah well … good to see ya!
Always lovely to see you, Miss O.

Are you going to be able to go before winter really hits?
For your pleasure, from today’s walk — the results of all this rain.
Gorgeous, Andi. Thank you!!

And I would think that just the thought of going home will help you survive florida for however much longer you’re there.
Indeed it does.

And it’s 15C here today, so no snow today … lots of fog though. 🙂
If you ask me, O Purveyor, that could make for some truly lovely imagery! The fog can be truly magical.
Good morning WW. Glad the bad weather is past you.
Far as I’m concerned, FM, the weather here is always bad.
🙂
Good to see you today. How’ve you been?
Doing pretty good.
So I take it even for a little while, you’re not a sunshine/beach person. I think I would prefer the mountains to the beach myself.
You’ll be back in your mountains soon I hope.
I hope so too, FM! Thanks again for good thoughts.
Actually, I do like the beach & sea, under certain conditions (ie, not crowded or dirty). Sunshine’s good too, but I like a little variation sometimes!
Good morning all! It is almost black outside, yet more rain in the soggy northeast. I’ll start building that ark any day now.
Morning Boran.
See if you didn’t clean your lawn, you would probably have enough limbs and stuff to start building that ark. I know I do. 🙂
when you get it done … 🙂
I’ve got to get some breakfast going.
See everyone later.
Yesterday the tornado sirens went off all day. Daughter’s boyfriend has a brother who lives where the tornado hit yesterday in Montgomery. It broke all the windows in their apartment and sent their couch out one of them. Everybody heading there today to see what can be done.
Best wishes & good luck to all, MT. May everyone stay safe & well.
That’s a really cool frog.
(Okay, I’ve got to stop screwing around and get some work done.)
Seconded!
Good to see you, mythmother! Hope to be back later & hang out with you a bit. Ribbit. Plunk.
Why doesn’t one of the multiple personalities of the affable amphibian open a lounge so a hard working guy can get a drink? Pretty please?
