Good morning, early birds. After four nights of sleeping alone Mr. Nature was back last night hogging the space, and he forgot to close the door all the way so we had the cat in there with the dog and they did their cat/dog thing on the bed early this morning. It’s like a cartoon.
AndiF, FM, refinish, SN, and whoever else might have shown up while I was typing this. I feel like I’ve been away forever…
Everybody’s already off to school! Happy dance!
(ps, I’m feeling guilty about thinking Friday was Saturday and forgetting to put up the cafe…I’m not too good with this long weekend stuff. Sorry and thanks to whoever put one up.)
I got a lighter dose of surly for the holidays, so I guess that counts (gotta take what I can get in that department.)
Now to get back into my daily walking routine. We’ve been having 60-degree weather and it’s supposed to stay that way till Thursday, so I have no excuse (other than too much work to do).
Did everybody have a nice turkey day and long weekend?
Hey FM, I was just poking around some of the weekend cafes and came across this link and immediately went and voted for Olivia. But but but how can we tell where in the voting she is? On the next page it ranked all the nominees by number. sob. But I did notice that Olivia commented that we can vote once a day, so I bookmarked the page.
I don’t know how we can tell who is ahead. It’s one of those vote and hope type things. It appears close, but I hope if we keep telling people to vote and showing them where to go, it will pull Olivia ahead.
BTW I read you’re other post about hunting season. Be careful.
Morning! Just a quick hello before storming out the door. The first day back to school after a long weekend is usually a mix of crabby, sleepy kids and those excited to be back. 5 or 6 will be still be traveling back from Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio, or Tennessee. Time to re-establish routines and set a peaceful tone.
If you have time and access, look at this past Sunday’s NYT Magazine. The cover story, “Still left Behind” is very interesting. I’ll probably post a diary on it later.
Take Care, and I’ll be there at Happy Hour!
Andy. This is my part to add some complete sentences to the breakfast Cafe, which I always read, but don’t always have time to make comments. Thanks for opening it up.
Good Morning everybody! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
Today is opening day of hunting season (deer) and it’s always a bit of a nerve jangler for me. The horses are snug in their stalls until midday. It’s been quiet, but I do have my handy dandy orange hat to wear outside… it’s stunning.
You can’t take NSAIDs after nose surgery because they lead to extra bleeding. You can’t even take them for a week before surgery. So for pain they gave me tylenol with codeine and for the first week combined that with ativan so that I would forget that even had a nose on my face I guess. Was looking for a digital camera for my daughter yesterday. It is really the only thing that she wants for Xmas. My husband was being an ass everytime I showed him a camera. Finally I made up my mind on one and he said, “Fine, if you think it’s so much better than the one you bought her then take the other one back!” What, I bought her a camera already? He took it out of the closet later to prove it to me. It’s much nicer than the one I was looking at. I got a hell of deal at Best Buy that day. It was already on sale and they were giving an additional $50.00 off if you bought it that same day. It had 2.1 more megapixels than the one I was going to buy her “sober”. Whoa Man! I even managed to purchase a memory card for it at Target that day and it’s even the right size. My husband said he was in Target with me and he has no idea when I did that. I just sort of showed up with it….I vaguely remember Best Buy but I remember nothing about Target. Don’t take drugs and shop!
drugs. They depress me very quickly as well. I thought that my SAD was sneaking up on me faster than I anticipated and made a doctors appointment as soon as I could last week. Two days later though when I went in my depression symptoms had gone. I don’t think narcotics agree with me 🙂
to a very nice long weekend.
Good morning Andi.
Ready for another wonder week of work?
I’m still asleep. Should have been wonderful week.
whatever it is, I’m not ready for it.
I always hated to go back to work after a long weekend. Be heartened though. More holidays coming up. 🙂

Morning SN.
Sounds like a normal day starting out for you. How did it come out with the car yesterday?
We bought a new battery and it seems to be fine now – :::knock on wood:::
That great. Hope that was all.
You need to take a camera to bed with you to capture the fun for us.
and risk it turning up on YouTube?
You could become a national star, or at least get that 15 minutes of fame. 🙂
Forget fame – just give me the money. 🙂
That’s what I’ve always thought. No need for fame, but the money would be nice.

I kept thinking every day since Wednesday was Saturday because all of the kids were home. But now it just feels like a Monday.
It feels like a good day to jump back in bed since the guys are gone. But I have to work. 🙁
Morning CG.
Yeah these long weekends throw me off too. My long weekend has been going on since 03 I think. 🙂
Hey, it would be a shame to ruin a good run of long weekend. Keep up the good, uh, work. 🙂
Yep work is all I do. 🙂
So did you get a surly-break for the holidays?
Everybody was tryptophanning-out on Friday so no worries.

Just a reminder for everyone to head over and give Olivia your vote today.
Go here to vote for Olivia .
Go down to number 7 and click on the white dot by parvum opus. Then go to the bottom of the page and click submit.

I’ve got to get moving and get animals out and feed and trash out to the street.
See ya’ll later.

owning horses…..UGH! Hope today passes gently and as softly as possible for all of you.

Wow Tracy that is kind of scary. I wonder what it says for your shopping expertise that you got better deals by not remembering it. 🙂

Afternoon everyone.
Doing Christmas decorating, popping in and out this afternoon reading.
Anyone know of a good twelve-step program for tryptophan junkies? <yawn>
Yep. Start taking higher doeses of green bean casserole for the gitters and after two days a big shot of pumpkin pie will calm ya right down.
I recommend just going cold turkey.
Hi WW.
Cold turkey as opposed to hot turkey sandwiches. 🙂
That’s right!
How are you, FM?
I’m doing better. How’s it in the tropics today?
Tropical, my dear.
We had a bit of a break for a few days & I was quite the happy little camper — but alas, the weather’s now back to abnormal.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better! Are you out of the woods yet, or still being careful?
How’s Mom?
Glad to hear you had a little break.
I’ve still got the bronchitis and FMom is feeling better. Actually I’m leaving right now to take her to Physical Thearpy, so gotta go.
I hope to see you later on.
Bye Ya’ll. 🙂
Take it easy, FM. (As if!)
Tempting as it is, I am not going to milk this thread for puns.
