And the party continues…
And if you can’t set an example, you’ll just have to serve as a terrible warning…
Martinis are in the shaker, chilled and ready to pour.

May the 4’s be with you
with clean tables and another round for everyone!
Just what I was waiting for, a clean table!
Hi folks.. I guess the weather and waiting for news tonight has me totally on edge.
Hi all. We’re having a lovely Spring-time Saturday afternoon here.
The day started early, what with having to get Inti to into a trailer by 8am to go get sheared, so we’re having a slow afternoon.
Hi keres!!!
Hi RF. What’s the news you are waiting for, and how is your weather.
We’re officially into Summer, but the weather is still Spring-like.
waiting for word on the execution and the bloodbath that will surely follow. I have a lot of friends who’s kids are in Iraq.
It’s just ghoulish – this death vigil. And Bush will use it like some sort of “mission accomplished” trophy.
It is and I know there is nothing I can do about it. I just hate that the real traitor will never be brought to justice.
He has been hanged. I just saw it on line. May the powers that be protect the oinnocents in Iraq.
Thank you for the news, refinish.
nothing and only makes things worse. It is day there. I tremble to think what sort of day it will be today.
It’s amazing to realize that the horrific consequences we invision could be precisely what these evil bastards want.
No doubt. If anything at all is consistent about administration PR, it’s a readiness to milk death like a prize cow.
Dad and Josh are playing video games. I just made them pancakes for dinner….not my idea of a great dinner but it was requested by the Joshman. Our daughter is out someplace having her life.
Pancake suppers are great!!!! I cannot say how many times we have done those for fundraisers through all the years. LOL
but it sounds like a great idea and so many people like pancakes for dinner it isn’t funny.
I love making these for dinner!
German oven pancake recipe link.
I’m going to do it. Bookmarked that puppy.
Dutch Babies are great. I like mine with powdered sugar and lemon.
BTW, if you order pancakes in Australia, you’ll get crepes. Flapjacks or griddle cakes are largely unheard of. You can however, buy mini-pancake premade in bread isle of the supermarket – they’re called pikelets.
Me too with the powdered sugar and lemon – though it’s tempting to fill it with something since it comes out like a bowl. I’ve never tried the other suggestions.
Here’s my recipe. I think it’s a bit easier the way I do it.
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbl butter
1 (glass) backing pan
1 Blender
Preheat oven to 450F. When the oven is hot put the butter in an oven dish (the one I use is about 12″ x 8″) and pop it in the oven.
While the butter is melting, put all the other ingredients in the blender.
Just as the butter gets to the fully melted stage, blend the batter and then put it straight from the blender into the hot pan with butter.
It’s very important that this be done quickly and that the batter be poured into the center of the melted butter. I usually put the pan on top of the stove and close the door to keep the oven temp up. Pour the batter and then quickly put the pan back in. Keeping the oven hot makes the Dutch Babies really puff up.
Hint: put a bit of soapy water in the blender and blend it for a few seconds. This does most of the cleaning work for you.
Well, I have done a crepes fund raiser also where you make the crepes and then have all the different fillings and powdered sugar.
Crepes actually freeze well.
If you put layer of wax paper between them you can freeze them for later use. They make a fairly fancy dinner when rolled around some sort of stuffing and baked. We like baked crepes with spinich and cheese (like feta). Mushrooms work well as a stuffing or a sauce/topping.
LOL I have done that also. You can tell I do a lot of fundraising with food for many causes.
and I have already eaten.
LOL just wait till I tell you about the bake sales I have done with 30 different kinds of cakes, 20 different kinds of pies, cookies, brownies, homemade bread… you name it. LOL
It is a southern thing I guess. A lot of churches do it and have the men do the cooking. LOL I have done them for AIDS charities and GLBT centers.
At one of my project homes, where I was today, I took this of a poster leaning in a window. I always liked this guy.
says Saddam has been executed.
And Huffpo reports that the Bush’s were safely hunkered down in an armored vehicle during the tornado warnings in Texas.
Do you think they had to up-armor the thing from the local scrap yard?
Do you think it was because of a tornado?
There were tornados in Texas today and 12 people were hospitalized and 1 killed in the area around waco which would include crawford area.
Speaking of junk, I wonder how long it will take for Bush to make a statement?
True. I am sure the sawed of son of a bitch will be on TV gloating soon.
Gloating ‘respectfully’, no doubt & re-invigorating his twisted sense of godly purpose.
He said he didn`t want to be woken up for the murder of Saddam. I knew it was the tornadoes, I was just being sarcastic. It`s funny they would shelter him from a storm, but didn`t think to protect him when planes were flying into buildings.
Sorry, I guess my mind is all warped tonight. LOL
He truly said he didn’t want to be awakened? I’ve never known an addict to reject a good rush.
In any case, he’d better wake up & perform his primary duty.
you mean sobered up right?
Good evening, everyone. Kind of a grim mood in the lounge tonight. Understandable, but grim nonetheless.
I just typed and wiped out three sentences – failed attempts at lightening the mood.
I’m w/ ya … I’m here lurking and reading, but not really sure what to say about well, anything. So there.
How are you this evening, Miss O?
Personally, I’m listening to Jerry Garcia’s rendition of Smoke Gets In Your Eyes issuing from a nearby television. I daresay, one can’t remain 100% gloomy under these circumstances.
Goodness knows where that leaves us, though.
Yes, it’s not clear to me either … 🙂
How are things otherwise?
Fine, I s’pose; thanks for asking! I’m busily realizing that it’s truly time to get back home to the woods; I’m actually becoming very sick here in the urban tropics. I’ve got a little practical stuff to figure out, however — mainly regarding how to secure wheels without wheels.
🙂
How’s your weather been? Are you seeing winter?
It’s 14F right now … and we do have snow covering the ground that required shovelling, but not a lot and miniscule compared to Colorado snow.
I hope that things work out so that you can get home soon, and will send positive thoughts (a la FM) your way in hopes that they help in some small way. I read an article a while back that talked about the healing properties of forests, and that people who walked in forests and communed w/ nature regularly had healthful benefits … of course, this is something you are familiar with. I’ll have to look for the link, b/c I did save it somewhere.
I think like Teach I’m going to retire for the night. My guests are here, and I’ll have to be chipper for the morning … and morning person I am not. Sleep well and pleasant dreams ww!
I wish you the same, dear purveyor & thank you very, very much for good thoughts. They do help!
I’d be happy to see the article, if you can come up with it. Of course, we both know.
Enjoy your company!
Hey, olivia and WW. I think I’m going to leave for the night. I need to get my mind off of the political. ‘Night.
Have a good night, Teach. Count your blessings!
Sleep well!
