Which new year’s resolution will you be breaking tonight?
None, because I didn’t make any. It’s part of my general aversion to goal-setting. As far as I can tell, the basic idea behind New Year’s resolutions is to make me feel bad because I can never keep them unless they’re so trivial as to be meaningless (e.g. “I resolve to get up in the morning five days out of seven”).
I never make them either. In fact, I generally try to forget that another year has gone by and a new one is beginning. Makes me feel too old and mortal. And lethargic – let’s not forget lethargic.

I almost always take your advice, especially when it involves doing nothing. The dog park had a water main break and Hopeful went for a swim before I noticed it. She was mud and dog crap from head to toe. So just bathing her took two hours and now my house is a mess again and I’m ready for bed.
so we are out of balance. I guess you’ll have to let Ben take care of dinner and the dishes to set things right.
It’s in the oven. Maybe I can finagle a foot rub out of him though.

oh I never really got got out of it (I checked and even answered work email) — it was just fun pretending for awhile.

well I wouldn’t have married any of them but there were all those nice jewish boys who were going to be doctors and lawyers and MBAs.

They’re definitely better at hooking up and setting up all sorts of devices – but this is new to them as well.
Drats, it’s been like that since Saturday morning – but I got a lot done at home yesterday, with my limited comment ability.
You could just comment anyway and the rest of us will have a blast trying to decipher them.

Warmed up!!! The houses on Malibu road [read all the actors houses on the beach] are in danger. Three already burnt down, more burning now. See from my house. Winds very strong & possibly getting worse.

Hey oliviz dada diane & second nature. I`m cool, I was just down taking pictures., I`ve been in these fires before & my own place has even been on fire before but I `m in no danger whatsoever. The only problem is I may be overworked rebuilding all those houses. These homes are multi million dollar homes on some of the most expensive real eastate in the world for residential use. I`ll post day photos & burning photos I just took. Give me 30 mins . Got to feed my tanks say goodbye to my daughter & granddaughters kiss the door & slam the wife & Il`ll be right back.

Hope you are far enough away, KH, with lots of anti-fire plants around. My bro is uphill enough, though very close to the fire. The irrigation system’s been working like mad up on the holy hill, of course – not that it would stop a really heavy fire.

As to your self description, Teach says to tell you he can see you on the Harley, with the fish tank strapped to your back, riding through a wall of flames. Personally, I think there might be something or someone more valuable in that location.
(Come to think about it, I think we did see someone at Sturgis with a fishtank. . .no, they were carrying their gila monster).

You are more patient that we are. Had one key go out last weekend. Took about 2 hours of that before we went to the Apple store and replaced it.
We do recc. Macs, greatly superior to the PCs we’ve used.

Not bad. I’m just very tired because the boran2boy has been getting up every night for the last couple of weeks. How are you? I’m glad to see that FMom is okay.
I’m tired too. For some reason I got a surge of energy today and went into a cleaning freenzy. I’m not even half way through with the cleaning and I know by tomorrow the energ will be gone.
Is boran2boy still having nightmares?

Yep, he’s still having them, but not every night. Sometimes he is just waking up to come and sleep next to me. He falls right back to sleep but not me.
When my youngest daughter would sleep with us she would be right in the small of my back. While I’m asleep if something is pushing up against me, I tend to move away. Well she like to take up the whole bed and I’ve had many nightmares I was falling off a cliff. I would wake up and find myself on the edge of the bed.
I haven’t had nightmares but I have found myself on the edge also.
Just part of being a parent I guess. Just think, once he gets older you can do all sorts of payback. 🙂
Payback, yep. But I do love to have him him sleeping next to me.
I was think more of in the lines of when one day you’ll go to visit his houe, going through the entire house and turning on every light in the house, leaving the front door wide open and just staring into the fride.
I’m going to go into my kids’ houses and get a drink of juice or pop or milk every 10 minutes, use a different glass each time and leave them all around the house. And I’ll probably leave the milk out too, just for fun.
Enjoy it while you can, boran2 – cause someday soon the thought of lying in the same bed with you will cause him to go into fits of disgust.

Good news though — I was down 8 pounds since my last doctor’s visit, for a total loss of 19 since I began “Operation Incredible Shrinking Woman”. lol Blood sugars are well under control too, thanks to the meds and the diet. I really want to lose at least 30-40 pounds before I go to Chicago in August — that might be enough where I won’t need a stupid seat belt extender…
