BT is back on my screen after dropping off the radar for several minutes. I couldn’t get it to refresh. Did you notice anything?
The new job has been challenging, to say the least. The previous office holder was no help at all (no surprise). We spent most of the first day cleaning. There were sizable food particles in the keyboards and man-eating dust bunnies behind the monitors. The backlog of jobs undone goes back several years.
You may not have heard yet, but our commissioners appointed the former office holder and one of her deputies to the property tax adjustment board last week. They also tried to put the two council appointments to the same board in a box so that her third former deputy would be forced onto the same board, giving them a majority. I spent yesterday lobbying frantically! There is yet hope in that regard. I’ll find out Tues. night when the council is to make their two appointments.
At times like this, I ask myself, “What have you gotten yourself into, you idiot”!
Do you take the local paper? There should be some interesting letters this week.
Morning Andi. I hope you enjoy your Sunday. Apart from my breaking a window on the car (oops), ours was good. We went for a long walk up Mt. Wellington with the dog.
Tomorrow, I will be calling wrecking yards for a front-seat-passengers-side window (yes, I will be installing it myself), and working on the magazine.
Morning Folks!!!!! I am up working on designs. I am working on a series of presidential hopeful designs using each state map. LOL will be 50 with one phrase x 4 sizes for each and then another 50 x 4 sizes with a different phrase and then I will do one of each for each front runner. I also need to start doing some designs for other candidates who have announced even if I don’t think they stand a snowball’s chance in hell. LOL
LOL Well, the weather sucks and I have to do something. LOL as far as the designs go, I am an equal oportunity exploiter of the mass appeal of bumper stickers, buttons and shirts. LOL What most people don’t realize is that the profits from the designs go mainly towards my civil rights and political work.
Hmm, I’ve yet to see convincing evidence of either of those. So far the seasons I’ve seen have included Wet, More Wet, Hot & Very Wet, Cool & Yep Still Wet, and Autumn. I’ve been most impressed with Autumn.
Thanks!!! I am going to do one with each states names for the citizens such as “Texams for Edwards 2008”. I like the 3’d state images better than just flat ones but the graphics I have have different odd colors for each state and I am replacing them with blue of course. LOL
It’s the international Auto Show in Detroit. And this morning, I’ve been reading the Other Newspaper (the one that used to be Gannett owned before Gannett sold it and bought the newspaper that used to be the good newspaper until Gannet bought it. If you can follow that, you are fully awake!) So our right wing newspaper has become even further right wing. And among today’s regular “news” columnists is:
We’re lucky to be near Bloomington with at least a balanced newspaper (of course, some call it leftist). We can get Molly Ivins column on Sun. This week she’s Standing Up Against The Surge.
Hope she stays well and continues to write for many, many more years.
We can’t read her locally any more, but we always find her online.
To be honest, I’m more worried than ever about her health. She has come back from her hiatus for treatment, saying that she is concentrating on the war exclusively until something is done about it. That says to me that she may know that she has very little time, so she’s using that precious commodity on the thing that is most important.
Thank you!!!! I am actually thinking of opening a store that is nothing but edwards designs. I will keep the the ones I have uploaded to the current store where they are but also add them into the edwards store along with lost of other designs. That way anyone doing a website trying to raise funds for teh campaign can affiliate just the edwards store.
My heart is light as a feather today. I know that there are many things going on in the world today that are horrible, rotten, evil, and disgusting but yesterday I was blessed with something very very right. We had Joshua’s bday party at a place called the Fun Factory here. They have putt putt golf, a jungle gym cage thing with big nerf guns in it, a bowling alley, a climbing wall, and a skating rink. Joshua invited eleven little boys and eleven little boys showed up. As wrong as many things seem today families are teaching their children amazing things and thinking about what they are teaching their children. When I was a kid your parents taught you what they learned and what their parents had taught them and there wasn’t a whole lot of deep thinking that went into it. The families represented by a young master yesterday range from military, to Pentecostal and women don’t cut their hair and always wear a dress, and well lots of Republicans because that’s just the way it is where I live. I have been very upfront about my goals as a parent……that my children be able to survive and function in this world so that one day I can get old and kickoff in a little peace. I challenge my disabled son to find his place. I was told by teachers how he is seamlessly in play and place now with his peers but yesterday was the first day I ever witnessed it up close and My God children are so much more amazing and without all the damned hangups we old assholes have. They just get together and do it. In my childhood I don’t think my mother could have gotten 11 little boys together either without some sort of meltdown…maybe two….surviving those kinds of things was usually factored in. We teach our children far different things though now and nobody looks upon bullying as a sign of strength or manliness among our kids anymore though we tend to tolerate it right now in our President. I suppose we cut him a little slack because nobody taught him better or something. A three hour long party though and the only thing I was worn out from was tending them all playing with unlimited energy for three hours straight and they could have gone on longer too. I had to come home and take a nap. With as much out there that is wrong though somebody is doing something right, I saw that clearly yesterday.
At the party Joshua told what they had all learned in school about Martin Luther King. First he was married and had four children and was assassinated in Tennessee (all one sentence). Then Josh looked at me and asked what assassinated was. He then went on to tell that Martin lived when white children and brown children could not go to school together and Martin changed that. Joshua says that Martin was right about this too because then you get more friends. He kept calling him Martin like he knew him.
I am so glad the party went well. I can tell you that some of us were taught those same lessons many years ago and the current shithead in the white house would have been also if he had parents instead of repugnants.
Thanks!! Had a great nap and now am back to work on the state designs. I have the first 16 states done with the design above in 4 different sizes. I will keep plugging away till I have that done and then start working on opening the new store for the edwards campaign gear.
36 degrees here in the Silly Con Valley. Was up too damn late last night, so just got up — watching some football and trying to get up the energy to put clothes away. Also need to work on menus for the week — I want to do a lot of slow-cooker cooking because it makes the apartment smell so good. 🙂
Ick, Chicago just scored…hope it’s not going to be a long day for Seattle…
I am going to concentrate on the edwards tore for now and will do some other designs for other candidates if I think they stand a chance of winning. LOL It is really hard to do designs for candidates you don’t really support.
Morning Andi. How’s things on the homestead?
and I guess we’re going to get a bunch sicker of it.
How’s by you? Enjoying the new job?
BT is back on my screen after dropping off the radar for several minutes. I couldn’t get it to refresh. Did you notice anything?

I hadn’t checked for about 20 minutes so I might have missed the problem.
It’s comforting to know we’ve got a neat freak in office now. 😉
You may not have heard yet, but our commissioners appointed the former office holder and one of her deputies to the property tax adjustment board last week. Of I take the paper — how could I survive without the sheriff’s log and the latest episode of atheists vs fundies.
Keep up the good work — it is appreciated (and by more than your wife).
The knives have been sharp this week, but I have a few of my own to throw. Sheesh! Can’t we all just get along? 😉
Sometimes I feel like we have mini versions of bush and cheney as commissioners. Now, mini-mitch daniels has my old council seat.
now that is scary.
(I went to high school with mitch — he was a year older — and no one, from nerds to kewl kids, could stand him.)
I expect him to suggest privatizing the state parks any day.
sounds like Texas politics to me. LOL
You mean lots of posturing and manipulation, little actual work to benefit the people – or variations on that theme?
Exactly!!!!
Guess we know why you won. LOL YOu are actually willing to work.
At least there’s a paycheck and health care. I’m really grateful for the latter and Mrs. Dem is grateful for the former.
Yee haw!!!!! and of course knowing it is an elected official who is willing to work getting the check and the benefits makes things even better.
Right now, I’m off to bed.
I never doubted for a second that you wouldn’t fix the window yourself. And that it will be done right.
Morning Folks!!!!! I am up working on designs. I am working on a series of presidential hopeful designs using each state map. Morning refinish69. What a busy person you are!
Wow, that sounds like a lot of work — even for you.
Hi Miss Andi!!! Well, I am trying to prove I am the workaholic that FamilyMan called me. LOL
G’morning everyone. Can any of you tell me why the hell I’m up when the sun hasn’t even risen yet?
Hi.
Despite having grown up in South Florida, I refuse to accept that “45 degrees and soggy” constitutes winter.
LOL does 36 and expecting a high of 30 tomorrow count?
Afaic, temps below freezing always count, and anything below 40 counts in Texas. 😀
well they are alling for sleet and actually have a winter storm warning through tuesday.
winter and road construction.
Hmm, I’ve yet to see convincing evidence of either of those. So far the seasons I’ve seen have included Wet, More Wet, Hot & Very Wet, Cool & Yep Still Wet, and Autumn. I’ve been most impressed with Autumn.
IMNSHO, the two best months are april and october.
And this has been a very weird winter — way above average on temps and precip both.
Morning, Indy. Yeah, me too. I usually sleep until 8 on Sun. Had a day of high anxiety yesterday, so maybe that’s my reason.
I sure hope you have a better today day, Indianadem.
Thanks Indy. Maybe the stars are aligned a little better today. Anyway, I feel some improvement over yesterday’s funk.
You so you can join the morning coffee clatch at the pond. LOL
That must be it! Now that you mention it, my snark-o-meter has been reading a bit low lately. Must be the time I’m missing here. 🙂
and you know I am very good at the snarky comment. LOL

Very nice designs, refinish, and he has my support too, BTW.

Thank you!!!!
Morning, everyone.
Morning Kidspeak. Is it soggy up your way too?
Yes, but it’s full of hot air.
It’s the international Auto Show in Detroit. I thought of posting this as a Pseudoscience Sunday diary, but I’m too sleepy to do something that snarky on a 3 day weekend.
We’re lucky to be near Bloomington with at least a balanced newspaper (of course, some call it leftist). We can get Molly Ivins column on Sun. This week she’s Standing Up Against The Surge.

I love her work, and her personality.
I worry about Molly also. She is a fabulous woman and I got to meet her at Dem Fest 2005.
Morning Kidspeak!!!!!
Morning, RF. Love those designs for Edwards!
Thank you!!!! I am actually thinking of opening a store that is nothing but edwards designs. That’s a great idea!
Good morning, all! It’s apparently still early spring here in the Hudson Valley, in the 50’s.
Howdy Boran2!!!! Glad someone is having nicer weather. LOL
Good morning, Refinish! It’s a bit gray here but very warm. How is it by you?
Waiting for the sleet to start tonight. LOL Cloudy and drizzly now amd cols for here. I only left the house once since getting home friday night. LOL

been up working on designs since 4 am. I am going to take a nap and then start again.

Ick, Chicago just scored…hope it’s not going to be a long day for Seattle…
good morning everyone.
I too am rooting for Seattle. Being in Green Bay my favorite teams are the Packers and whoever is playing the Bears.
Its cold here today (26) but at least it isn’t raining, or icy.
I still consider the Seahawks an AFC West team, but this time I pick Chicago..’cuz Chicago is like a second hometown to me.
and that was a pretty exciting finish.
There are football games today? LOL
how many states do you have left to go?
(oh and just to show the requisite amount of local pride — yay colts)
29 left to go with the first design LOL
maybe you should switch to regions (northeast, great lakes, plains states) for the less likely candidates and save yourself some work.
I am going to concentrate on the edwards tore for now and will do some other designs for other candidates if I think they stand a chance of winning. LOL It is really hard to do designs for candidates you don’t really support.
I am uploading the designs I have done to the site and then will start back on the list again after I get that done.
Did I miss an announcement or something?
I’ll put up a new lounge in a sec
the hookah is lit!
