I notice a lot more than I let on. Plus which, they haven’t yet invented flowering optical drives or a way to make your desktop smell like freshly mown grass so geeks still need spring.
I actually haven’t tried it yet. My ability to listen to music is compromised right now. 🙁
(The inability to process complex sensory input hits me in attacks right along with my other symptoms; apparently there’s some degree of commonality regarding that experience among MS patients, so it’s just another place where this thing acts enough like MS to be MS.)
You would think it would be useful as diagnostic data, wouldn’t you? Apparently, however, “specialists” do not give a shit about symptoms. The only thing they really care about is test results. And while they can find evidence of some kind of spinal cord disease process, they can’t find the characteristic brain/spine lesions or spinal fluid markers associated with MS, so even Cleveland is going to leave me undiagnosed and untreated yet again. Which is TEH MAJOR SUCK.
I’m pretty much done with this whole chronic illness disability thing. It’s eaten 7.5 of my best years already, been at the forefront of my life that entire time, and I just cannot do it anymore. I mean, I have not even had a weekend vacation in 8+ years. I honestly couldn’t explain how I’ve kept any shred of my sanity.
But I’m done. Cleveland was all I could take. From here on out, if a doctor happens to stumble across the answer, that’d be super, but I’m otherwise just so fuckin’ done with them, and turning my focus toward getting back to living the best life I can.
to give you the life you want is great but the mother hen worries a little that you might not go see a doctor when you need to so she thinks you should also go kvetch at doctors whenever you aren’t feeling good and force them to act like they have a profession.
Try not to strain your worry-muscles, I’ll definitely go for things like antibiotics and emergencies. Plus I still have to find someone to treat my endocrinological/autoimmune condition (which was easy to diagnose by comparison), so there will be at least one or two MDs monitoring me.
No ice just damn rain!!!! I am sick of the wet even though I know if we do not have a wet season the summer will be hell again. They are saying we might get more ice Monday night or Tueday morning.
Morning All!!!! Andi, thank you for the beautiful picture as always!!!! I am working away on the store and checking in between steps to see what’s up this am. I have already done 6 states this am and am getting them uploaded.
I have some big-ass coding to run against a lot of data and then debug (if needed) so most of the ‘work’ time consists of waiting — so I can read, surf, go walk, etc.
Good to see you, too, as always — even if only in passing, since I’m off to go finish building my home theater PC. 🙂 I hope you’re having a relaxing w/e! ::waves hi and bye::
Just woke up-where the hell did my seratonin levels go? Still fighting the glums far too often especially in the morning. Had some nervine tincture and now some tea so things are looking a bit brighter.
It was a pretty awful week without any juiciness to speak of-we had to plow and shovel snow at odd hours at the college so the youth of America could get their education without falling down. That’s actually OK, it’s the weird power trips that happen during bad weather that are depressing. The senior crew member (that’s me) ended up on the business end of a snow shovel for eight hours one day because of it. So even 28 years of work doesn’t get someone respect (sigh).
And my bestest pal at work just got diagnosed with congestive heart failure yesterday-I’m going out to tend to his critters this afternoon and then visit him in the hospital.
And no date tonight-think I’ll go to the contra dance and at least get some exercise.
The rels got here early this morning and I can hear them up and moving around. George has started the yapping, so I know how the weekend will be, auditory wise that is. 🙂
Hello all. They’ve been promising us 4-6 inches of snow this weekend but so far … nothing. It would have been nice to have had snow all afternoon since I was house bound, working on a project. Maybe later tonight.
Yep as I said it’s the usual around here. I just got through with dinner and cleaning the kitchen. At least one thing with the rels here, I don’t have any problem getting to sleep. 🙂
Giddy loves it — she’ll lie down in it and sleep. Hopeful hates cold and and snow is frozen cold. Sniff likes to play in it as long as it isn’t too deep.
I’m not for sure about that, but it does give one a little bit of time to think about that cab ride in San Antonio..I’m still trying to figure out if he was talking about a drink or a lady?
FamilyMan, be glad the nasty weather is passing you by. Iy has been misting a very cold rain all day and I am still praying the temps quit falling and we do not get more sleet or snow on Monday.
Oh I don’t want real nasty weather. Just a little snow. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it or been in it and I’d like to see George’s reaction to it.
My school is really quite old (1930s), so I am always pulling for some mechanical problem. That has never happened. I have had a snow day every year I have taught.
Howdy Folks Been working away on teh design site all day till I had to go buy a new keyboard. Reba jumped up on the bed and slipped into the edge of my desk and knocked a full cup of java on the key board. I Cleaned and dried and even used it for some time before half the keys decided they no longer wanted to work. LOL I usually make sure I keep beverages on the right side of the desk as the end of the bed is at the left side so part of the problem was my fault. I am impressed because the last key board lasted 1 year and 4 months which is a record with the Diva Dogs.
Yes, but I immediately went out and bought a new one. Any keyboard that last more than a year is a good one when you have two dogs as crazy as mine and I live at my desk with food and beverages. I eat most measl in front of the pc and have been known to spill food or drink at times.
Our pond, which is about 40′ wide by 7′ deep, started out dry yesterday. Now it’s only about two feet from spilling over. This rapid change was in part aided by our uphill neighbor’s blocked culvert, which meant about half a kilometer of road and slope run-off crossed the street in front of our place and turned our drive and our front pasture into a wide shallow river.
.
A beautiful day with a bit stormy weather!
Europe cleans up after devastating storm
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
This will be the first snow of the winter with accumulation. Very weird.
Can’t we just skip the snow and ice and go right into spring?
in cables, wires, and optical disks. You’ll never notice.
I notice a lot more than I let on. Plus which, they haven’t yet invented flowering optical drives or a way to make your desktop smell like freshly mown grass so geeks still need spring.
‘You must believe in Spring’.
Speaking of which — were you able to get the music off the cd I sent you or should I make you an audio cd?
I actually haven’t tried it yet. My ability to listen to music is compromised right now. 🙁
(The inability to process complex sensory input hits me in attacks right along with my other symptoms; apparently there’s some degree of commonality regarding that experience among MS patients, so it’s just another place where this thing acts enough like MS to be MS.)
though at least it’s more diagnostic data.
Well when you feel better if you want me to do audio cd, just let me know.
You would think it would be useful as diagnostic data, wouldn’t you? Apparently, however, “specialists” do not give a shit about symptoms. The only thing they really care about is test results. nothing can strain them. 😉
But Giddy is insisting that it’s time to go strain the leg muscles. See ya later.
So sorry Indy!! I will send warm thoughts of Love and Healing your way!!!!
Thanks, RF. Y’all still iced in down there?
No ice just damn rain!!!! I am sick of the wet even though I know if we do not have a wet season the summer will be hell again. They are saying we might get more ice Monday night or Tueday morning.

for a change. I stopped working at 11:00 p.m. when I went to bed and started again as soon as I got up. Deadlines, deadlines.
LOL That is what you get for taking two weeks off for the holidays. Sorry You are having to work this weekend because I know how much you hate it.
I have some big-ass coding to run against a lot of data and then debug (if needed) so most of the ‘work’ time consists of waiting — so I can read, surf, go walk, etc.
You’re up to Jim’s eyeballs in code and you crack geek jokes at me? Ya big hypocrite.
Good one.
Hiya Indy, good to see ya.
Hi Miss Olivia!!!!!!
I thought you had left the cafe along w/ Andi … Good to see you this morning. 🙂
Good to see you, too, as always — even if only in passing, since I’m off to go finish building my home theater PC. 🙂 I hope you’re having a relaxing w/e! ::waves hi and bye::
I’m off too … preparing for the rels. Have a pleasant day everyone.
Well I hate waiting but all my work is hands on with photoshop and uploading designs. LOL

Good morning, er afternoon everyone.
The rels got here early this morning and I can hear them up and moving around. George has started the yapping, so I know how the weekend will be, auditory wise that is. 🙂
Hope everyone’s weekend is going well so far.
Hello all. They’ve been promising us 4-6 inches of snow this weekend but so far … nothing. It would have been nice to have had snow all afternoon since I was house bound, working on a project. Maybe later tonight.
Hi Mary.
I keep hoping, but all I get is rain. How’ve you been doing?
I’ll send some down if I can 🙂
My week sucked. For many reasons that aren’t worth going into. How are you?
I’ll take all you can send, well after I get groceries tomorrow. 🙂
Sorry to hear about your week. We’re doing OK. Just the usual around here.
I see upthread you have more rels at the B&B — I mean, your house. You and FMom should start charging.
Yep as I said it’s the usual around here. I just got through with dinner and cleaning the kitchen. At least one thing with the rels here, I don’t have any problem getting to sleep. 🙂
We’ve got 2-4 inches predicted (please sir, I want some more) but it’s not supposed to start till after 1:00 a.m.
Do the dogs like snow? Or do they whine because it gets in their paws and freezes?
Giddy loves it — she’ll lie down in it and sleep. Hopeful hates cold and and snow is frozen cold. Sniff likes to play in it as long as it isn’t too deep.
Sounds like Sniff will be pleased by the few inches you’ll probably get.
that stays in the 4-6″ range. But I have to be go to Chicago on Tuesday so I do want no snow from Tuesday on.
Now that you’ve said it, you know a blizzard will be coming on Tuesday. 🙂
depends on the type of dog..and whether you’re making reference to a man??
a man?
What’s going on over in your neck of the woods? How much snow do you have?
actually i’m kinda of stuck, well not really stuck.. in the snow in Kansas. but common sense has told me to wait to travel until tomorrow.
Sorry about the snow but wise of you to wait to travel.
Always listen to common sense. Sounds like you could use a fun sled. Oh wait. Kansas. No hills?
well there is the flint hills..the hill I slid down earlier today..but at least the good Mexican restaurant is not busy!
Don’t go sliding down any hills after a few margaritas 🙂
I learned a long time not to go sliding down a hill for a margarita…unless your talking about senorita named Margarita.
snow makes you lonely and nostalgic …
I’m not for sure about that, but it does give one a little bit of time to think about that cab ride in San Antonio..I’m still trying to figure out if he was talking about a drink or a lady?
but no trees to run into.
I think snow shoes might work better than a sled there.
Even you’re getting snow Andi. I feel so left out. 🙁
I won’t believe it until I see it.
That’s the way I feel whenever they pridict it for down here. I’m beginning to believe we won’t get any until the next ice age.
FamilyMan, be glad the nasty weather is passing you by. Iy has been misting a very cold rain all day and I am still praying the temps quit falling and we do not get more sleet or snow on Monday.
Oh I don’t want real nasty weather. Just a little snow. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it or been in it and I’d like to see George’s reaction to it.
can fall here as long as it brings a snow day with it.
Hi Toni.
Any snow down here would make it a snow day. 🙂
Ah, the “sheltered” life of the South.
You had better watch it Toni. With global warming we’ll be laughing down here in the South when ya’ll are complaing of the heat. 🙂
If I couldn’t stand the heat, I wouldn’t be a teacher:)
Besides, if we get considerably warner here, just imagine what y’all will feel in the summers.
Yeah — Jim was dreaming about snow days but it’s at the same kind of wistfulness as his dreaming about winning the lottery.
Jim can’t win the lottery, because I’m going to. That is whenever we finally ever do get on down here.
cuz I’m gonna win it.
OK I’ll make you a deal. If I win, I’ll take you to dinner and if you win, you’ll buy me a small island. 🙂
What a deal!
I’ll need to consult my financial advisor and get back to you.
I have never purchased a lottery ticket, but I always get at least one snow day a year.
in general the snow day odds are better than the lottery odds but not for this snow.
Though he has had the occasional year with no snow days.
My school is really quite old (1930s), so I am always pulling for some mechanical problem. That has never happened. I have had a snow day every year I have taught.
are actually ‘cold’ days — if it gets cold enough they’ll call off school
I’ve never spent more than $2 on lottery tickets. I figure if your going to be lucky, you can be with $1 or $2.
Howdy Folks Been working away on teh design site all day till I had to go buy a new keyboard. Hi Refinish.
I hope this keyboard thing isn’t catching. First ask and now you.
Yes, but I immediately went out and bought a new one. Any keyboard that last more than a year is a good one when you have two dogs as crazy as mine and I live at my desk with food and beverages. I eat most measl in front of the pc and have been known to spill food or drink at times.
My keyboards all die from terminal grunginess. I want an water-immersible keyboard.
LOL You and me both!!!!!
I just saw something on TV the other day about a new keyboard that’s washable.
Can it go in the dryer?
Now that I’m not sure of, but I did see the guy put it in the sink and wash it. I think he dried it with a towel. 🙂
I found that Clorox wipes work well on keyboards.
LOL I remember when you could get the plastic covers but thse damn things never worked well for me.
like a keyboard condom?
ROTFLMAO!!!!! That is what I use to call them
but unfortunately it still needs ironing if you don’t want to embarassed by it.
But at least it didn’t happen at the height of the ice storm when you couldn’t get out to buy a new one.
I have a really old crappy one I keep just incase of a situation like that. LOL
Coming down at about an inch an hour.

Luna is so soppy it’s not funny.
