New eastern thread.
To Everyone out there.
This is a Liberal site right? And Im not Liberal, so its not my site, no problem. The idea for me is to get both sides of a point. You can further debate said point with yourself, until you can no longer counter yourself, you then have your own true opinion. But you all seem very happy with just being completely Liberal, you have no opposing view, no one to judge against. Actually the only reason I joined here, is because I typed in “Cofederate Flag” on Google and found someone all out bashing it. And alright no problem there, you are all entitled to your opinion, this is America after all. But allow the posibility of yourself to be wrong, or not to really know all sides and points of an issue. The title of the article was “Burn This Flag” its old, back around the 7th of July 06. But to the author of the article does not even give a chance or a hint of himself being wrong. Your liberal right? You want all things to be truly equal, fair, black people, white people, asians so on. But you are really just soley against Conservatives, White Pride, The south, and so on, or rather some are that way. To the same people, why do you not form your own opinion, rather then just hating someone else’s? The Confederate Flag was really just and organized rebllion against the Government of The United States, what could possibly be more Liberal than that? If you ignore your history, you are doomed to repeat it. We had some dark points in History, but if we ignore them, dont take them for all possible views then we will go down the same path again. So Please keep a truly open mind and take in the conservative side too

If I take up arms against the government will you celebrate my flag or banner or whatever I choose to use as a symbol of my rebellion?
I suppose that would depend on whether you thought my cause was just. In the case of the Confederacy they rebelled against the federal government because the people of the United States held an election and they didn’t like the result. Check out the timeline. South Carolina didn’t even wait for Lincoln to be sworn in.
So, how can we support the righteousness of succession from the Union when Lincoln was never even given a chance?
And we can’t ignore that the reason that the south seceded from the union was that they feared the anti-slavery policies that Lincoln ran on. Since we don’t support the enslavement of people, especially based on their racial characteristics, it is very hard for us to be objective about the symbol of southern rebellion.
But thanks for your point of view.
Wow! Just wow. How much have you read here? Have you read our purpose or that all are welcome to participate here as long as you are not a prick? We are from all points of view here but mostly of the democratic party, lots of independents too. Stick around you just may learn something here. Welcome.
I wanna learn something, thats why Im here, but likewise, if you have an opposing view then you might also learn something. I never said you were wrong, relax dont take it so personally, the entire idea is to spawn new thoughts, discuss and solve problems, im not trying to piss you off.

“Denounce the government, Embrace the flag.”
best advice i ever heard.
The Confederate insurgency against the United States was hardly a liberal affair. It was a protest against democracy.
Like flying planes into the world trade center, the confederate insurgency’s rebel yell sounded an awful lot like “we hate your freedom” & “we hate U.S. democracy.”
One of the most illiberal acts a mob can commit is regime change by bomb instead of ballot, which is exactly what the confederate insurgency, under the confederate flag, attempted to do.
If I take up arms against the United States and my fellow citizens, I’m not affirming my liberal values, I’m disowning them.
I’m glad to read that you were sidetracked here on a search that started w/”confederate flag.”

American business is going down. This month the company announced that retroactively employees were not to ACCEPT resumes. Yes, it’s true and if I no longer worked there I would post the actual web page of the announcement. It does not say we should not forward a resume to our HR department it specifically states that effective six days prior to the dated announcement that we are not to ACCEPT resumes.
It cites “new regulations” as the cause of this companies latest bout of assholianism. In the coming months, if they let me stay here I will elaborate further on the depth and definition of assholianism as it relates to the latest business memes and themes.
