I would wake in the night all the time and not be able to remember where I was. It was really disconcerting — so it’s a good that now that I’m a geezer and it would be even worse that I don’t travel nearly as much.
when I was traveling a lot it always happened…it’s spooky tho, when you get so disoriented that you wake up in your own bed and have the same confusion.
that’s a real indication that it’s time for a change.
Since I’m in a hotel at the moment, I’m normally be jealous but there’s a thai restaurant right around the corner and I’m about to phone in a carry out order.
Poor HS had to be go to vet for an ugly-looking sore and ended up having to stay overnight in order to gett a biopsy. And we won’t know the results for about a week. 🙁
Feeling a bit happier this Happy Hour — we’re only about two steps away from getting the spouse back to work (and getting me back to what passes for sanity). He goes in tomorrow to fill the pee cup (standard drug screening), and he has to get new glasses so he can pass the eye exam (he lost his last pair and has futzed around about getting a new set; he can see okay for regular driving but not for professional grade). And today the union rep who’s done all the work on the case called to check in, so the spouse was able to give him the good news — that reassures me that he actually will be rehired once he’s got his medical card back, and that he hasn’t been bullshitting me…it’s going to take a while to rebuild a certain level of trust.
Now if only we could get the country as close to a semblance of normalcy…
I`ll be taking shots of them in the light as soon as I can. They`ve known me for a while. The Green one named “IRIS”, lived in the house with us till it was able to fly free & rule the household. Then we aclimated it to the outdoors, but my wife can whistle him over.
Here`s Iris in our house over a year ago. She would jump in one of my breeder tanks & scoot around on the water like a little jet ski.
OK a question. Were you holding the camera when you took that or was it on a tripod. I would think you had to have a tripod to get any of these pictures.
No I had the little bird on my hand & the camera in the other. When the wing is blurred I`m shooting slow, as the wings are beating faster than I`m shooting. If I shoot at the same speed as the wings are moving, they appear to stand still. Tomorrow I`m going to move the feeders into the sunlight & shoot them for more detail & stopped wing motion. Like this.
astounded by the depth of your and your lady’s empathy and connectedness with the myriad creatures you share your environment with…I am in awe of the gentleness and caring that is so obviously apparent.
That`s very nice of you to say dada. I will definitely be sharing those nice words & feelings with the better half of the team. Sometimes I think I`ve
created a monster but no animal has ever been turned away.
Here`s the Northern Hemisphere`s tide maker, taken a few mins. ago.
I `ll have the complete cycle done tomorrow but weather has hindered my mission by keeping me from getting 6 shots. I`ll have to fill them in next year I guess.
Come one and all. Plenty to drink and plenty of talk.
I’ve already gotten my 27 drinks lined up. Who wants what?
27 times.
And I want you to be home 27 times. But I do like it when you have wifi. 🙂
I hate when I forget who I am.
I’ve found forgetting who I to be very enjoyable. It’s forgetting where I am that I hate.
The joys of geezerhood. It’s been a long time since I forgot where or who I am. Maybe I should start ordering 54 instead of 27. 🙂

John McCain: The truth.
Yep I’ve had that happen a few time, no fun.
H5,
Where are y64+
Chicago — downtown. So I really have no excuse to complain.
Just a quick gin gimlet for me, then I must be off. Have a lovely evening FM.
Hi Alice.
A quick gimlet and anything you want coming up. Hope you have a good evening too.
How about vodka instead?
That looks good. Is that fresh baked bread too? If it isn’t just say yes, otherwise you’ll ruin my whole mental picture. 🙂
Hot corn bread ten minutes out of the oven.
Thank you. Now my mental picture is complete and I want a burger.
We do take care packages.
Fedex tomorrow!
Since I’m in a hotel at the moment, I’m normally be jealous but there’s a thai restaurant right around the corner and I’m about to phone in a carry out order.
and a frosty glass now!
In the cafe you get what you want. Virtually of course.

Testing newcomers? I’m still trying to figure it out. I’m still working on the second sentence. 🙂
lost me on the second line tho…where am I?
John McCain: The truth.
If they can break you code, they won’t need to have your predicament explained.
Is your “romance” already over?
Thanks Andi, I finally got it.

Haven’t looked at the weather in awhile. It has stayed cold and wet down here, so I figured no need to look it up.
Hope your daughter has a good time at the conference and stays warm.
From Hopey and me. Both of us are a little under the weather. I really have to stop french kissing her.
Hi SN.
Hope you get to feeling better. I’ve always heard a dogs mouth is cleaner than a humans. Poor Hopey. 🙂
Poor HS had to be go to vet for an ugly-looking sore and ended up having to stay overnight in order to gett a biopsy. And we won’t know the results for about a week. 🙁
would like to invite your Pack over for a play date.
Hi Andi
Could it be a virtual playdate?
and the fact that my dogs don’t even like getting in cars, virtual is probably the only way it will work.
but they like lakes and creeks.
Hate to open and run, but I’ve got relatives that are hungry and onealbear’s hamburger got me hungry. Got to fix dinner.
Back in a minute.

Night. Hope you catch a lot of fish.
Here are two of my puppies from an hour ago.
Hi Head.
Those are excellent pictures. I’m still amazed you can catch them long enough for a picture.
I`ll be taking shots of them in the light as soon as I can. They`ve known me for a while. The Green one named “IRIS”, lived in the house with us till it was able to fly free & rule the household. Then we aclimated it to the outdoors, but my wife can whistle him over.

That’s very cool. I thought hummingbird were migratory. Do they leave and come back or is the weather there good enough for them to stay?
The “RUFUS” & “Anna” Are here year round. The two above are one of each repectively. Here`s Iris again.
That’s a good one because you can completely see the wings and it drinking. I don’t think I would have the patience for that.
This is Iris taking flight lessons off of my hand.
OK a question. Were you holding the camera when you took that or was it on a tripod. I would think you had to have a tripod to get any of these pictures.

Sorry Head I got called away and now it’s past my bedtime.
I’ll be looking forward to the new pictures.
Have a good night in the pond.

peace and blessings to you and yours Head.
