I can carry a tune. But I don’t have the kind of voice that anyone would want to sit and listen to. My highest and best use as a singer is to keep the group on track when singing Happy Birthday.
I am actually a fairly good singer or was. I use to sing in a lot of choirs and music groups and had lots of solos and have song everything from gospal to …. you name it. Kareokie is totally different as I am not going to buy one of the machines so I can practise. LOL
I am backing Edwards so far but am waiting to see if someone else comes along that sets the world and me on fire. No matter who wins the primary a Democrats is a million times better than any Independent or Repugnant Candidate. LOL
LOL I am a yellow dog democrat and have been registered as a democrat since I was 18 untill I moved to Texas where you do not register party when you register. I still vote in the Dem primamry and only for Dems unless no one but an independent or libertarian is running against the repugnant.
The wine is a red from a Missouri winery that my best friend’s nephew is at — he’s learning the wine business. She gave bottles for Christmas. Jeunette Rouge. It’s not too bad. But I’m not incredibly picky.
I’ve never counted. I don’t usually get anything delivered here at home except pizza. But at the office we get lunch and dinner delivered all the time and we can get pretty much anything.
Some local wineries are awful, but Missouri has some good local wines. The Norton grape produces a very nice full bodied red.
Gotta admit we need the rain, but it’s depressing nonetheless.
Heading out this evening to meet up with our local hockey fanatics to watch the Sharks v. Vancouver Canucks on the big screen at a local hangout — yeah, always thought Canuck was a derogatory term but that’s the name…
Really got to get in gear this week — we’re thinking 2/12 for when the spouse will be back at work (or at least in retraining), so that gives us a couple of weeks to get this place cleaned up…
This is the small piece that they had open. It’s across from the civic centre, where the junior hockey team plays (the games I go to every friday night).
This is facing north, looking towards the parliament buildings. That building at the far end of the canal is the Chateau Frontenac. This would normally be full of skaters.
And just cause it was close by, I snapped a photo of the Centre Block at Parliament Hill.
I met a woman from Ottawa last night and kept thinking she must sound a lot like Olivia. Her husband grew up in Sweden and while they lived in Ottawa he used to bike to work all the time because of the great bike routes everywhere. He wouldn’t think of doing it here because he’d get killed.
I kept wanting to say that I knew someone in Ottawa but when I thought it through and realized I’d have to say ‘yeah, her name is….Olivia…in…Ottawa…oh, nevermind.
LOL, that’s how I felt when I met the wonderful group from Ottawa in Italy. I said I knew someone from Ottawa, but I made sure that it was at a point in the conversation when they couldn’t ask me too many questions.
It was swanky and weird and I felt out of place. So, what else is new. 🙂
But there were a lot of interesting people from all over the world that now work with my h. Lots of women from India in gorgeous saris and with hearty laughs and open smiles. Loved them. And envied their ease of dressing.
My youngest sister is in the tech field and works with many people from India. She also likes to cook and has gotten some really good recipes from them.
Thanks, O! I was off to a rocky start since at first nothing I did worked and it was frustrating but then I realized that the camera is actually a partner so then I got more tuned into how to work with it to at least get the shutter to go off! The colors are amazing. I still have lots of homework to do….
It was frustrating but I’m glad the camera is accessible enough so that beginners can be off and running to enjoy their beginner’s luck and start learning from their mistakes…. 🙂
Thanks, AndiF! I was sticking my nose into lots of bouquets. The vendors were very nice about it. A bunch of people were there today shooting a raisin commercial. They had their own faux farmer’s market constructed with lots of business going on.
(No thanks, I’d rather watch)
what a GREAT picture. I’ll go first:
feeeeeeelings, whoa whoa whoa feeeeeeeelings ..
hey, who threw that tomato?
I think I need a stiff drink. LOL
are you impugning my singing?
actually, that’s OK. I wouldn’t want to listen to me either.
I have hear both great and horrible when out at a kareokie bar. I am so so which means I don’t sing when I go out. LOL

I just love them singing frogs. LOL
I waited for the new lounge before sharing some new designs. LOL
VOTE EDWARDS
TEAM EDWARDS
and a redo of a previous design.
Bloggers For Edwards
That hoodie is cute.
I haven’t picked a candidate yet though.
I am backing Edwards so far but am waiting to see if someone else comes along that sets the world and me on fire. No matter who wins the primary a Democrats is a million times better than any Independent or Repugnant Candidate. LOL
I get all the fun of picking on all the candidates and none of the responsibility for picking one. Life is good.

YEEEEEE HAW!!!! I just got my first sale from the new shop.
was lying awake last night and came up with a new design for you:
A photo of GWB with the slogan: “I’m NOT with stupid!”
🙂
Hope your day is going well…
How do you feel Cali?
LOL Better yet. I didn’t vote for stupid.
LOL I am glad you like it.
will be along later for a Live Set…
I expect to hear maryb beltin’ out those old E.St.Louis Blues
John McCain: The truth.
LOL. If you want the blues, you gotta wait for supersoling to get back from DC. He’s the blues fan.
mon freckled ami…you got a serious Bluesman here…
self portrait
John McCain: The truth.
Blues sooths the soul and gives away to release all the angst.
then please … take the stage. I can listen all night. 🙂
since ya won’t sing…can you dance?
a little booty shakin’ always livens up the crowd…
John McCain: The truth.
I sing better than I can dance. I’m very uncoordinated and, actually, kind of a klutz.
I’m a much better audience than performer. I can listen all night.
good thing you got a day job…:{)
John McCain: The truth.
It’s important that society have employed people with expendable income who also have no talent. They help support the people who HAVE talent.
My pile of stuff is gone! All punched and put in binders.
I think a glass of wine is in order. And ordering a pizza to go with is in order too. 🙂
I had pizza last night. I will admit it was great and was the first full meal I ate all week. LOL
keeps you from singing ‘feelings’, I think you should a 16 incher.
::sniff::
hey wait … an excuse for an extra large? I’ll be right back, I need to make a phone call …
You could always sing with your mouth full. LOL
mmmexcellmmmmnt mmmmideammmm.
Don’t talk with your mouth full!
(Did I sound just like your mother?)
🙁
Yep, you did.
So how’s the wine? And what kind of pizza are you getting? (I’m very jealous of being able to call up places and get dinner delivered.)
see there are some drawbacks to being in the sticks. LOL
to living in the country but all the good stuff is way better at being great than all the bad stuff is at being crappy.
Each to their own. I love visiting people who live in the country and escaping but I prefer to live in a city. LOL
bacon and onion.

I think the mystique is going out of the wine business when every place you go has a local winery (there’s even one here in Brown County).
How many different kinds of food can you get delivered?
I’ve never counted. I don’t usually get anything delivered here at home except pizza. But at the office we get lunch and dinner delivered all the time and we can get pretty much anything.

Wait a minute – if anyone deserves a 16-incher it’s me. 😉
You can share with me. I’m very generous that way 🙂
you going to sing songs by the Archies?
I don’t get the reference. I must be far too young. 🙂
I forgot you were just a toddler. Well you can come up with your own karacroakie song that’s worse than Feelings.
Muskrat love has got to be the all time worst
The sun’ll come out Tooomorow betcher bottom dollar that tomorrow there’ll be sun…
and let’s not forget someone singing I did it my way. LOL
earworm!!

beautiful! I think we need a meetup in Ottawa.
Olivia — when was Ottawa founded? And was it founded specifically to be the capital? (Or did it develop out of a fur route village?)
No, it was not originally the capital … was named by Queen Victoria in 1857. Ottawa was a logging town … 🙂
Here are a couple links:
city of Ottawa.
Ottawa wiki
It’s so beautiful, I assumed it must have been built from scratch to be the way it is.
Frontenac is in Quebec City … I always mix the two.
LOL, I wondered why there were two Chateau Frontenacs.
I’ve stayed at the one in Quebec city.
And have eaten in the one here in ottawa.
For some reason I always mix them up, always have. Who knows. 🙂
of your going to the world’s biggest skating rink until he saw the crowds. But he did love the look of the empty stretch.
And all packed onto a tiny little piece. 🙂

for the bicyclers too … it is a great city for that.
LOL, you should have said something — maybe we knew each other … 😉
She’s in her fifties and has 3 daughters and a son from 32 to 24. I got Kevin, Corinne and Fiona and forgot the other daughter.
how’d it go?

oh…the irony…high tech job…outsourcing…
John McCain: The truth.
Nah, their husbands are old timers in software development and have been in the US a long time.
My youngest sister is in the tech field and works with many people from India. She also likes to cook and has gotten some really good recipes from them.
even the men’s.
One of the couples have 3 teenagers who were born and raised in the US and are now moving back to India. Culture shock?
Here are my fledgling efforts from the Encino Farmer’s Market today. Still lots and lots to learn!
I’d say you’re off to a great start mm!
The colours are wonderful. 🙂
Thanks, O! I was off to a rocky start since at first nothing I did worked and it was frustrating but then I realized that the camera is actually a partner so then I got more tuned into how to work with it to at least get the shutter to go off! It can be frustrating to start off, but you learn a little bit and a little bit more and then you’re off and shooting. 🙂
Thank you for sharing these w/ us. There is no colour like that around here right now … a very welcome sight.
It was frustrating but I’m glad the camera is accessible enough so that beginners can be off and running to enjoy their beginner’s luck and start learning from their mistakes…. 🙂
those are really gorgeous. I especially like the top one.
we’re exclamation twins. 🙂
wowie zowie? You’re way too young.
I didn’t realize their was an age qualifier to use that phrase … or maybe I’m old. 🙂
ugh …
is from the sixties.
I think zappa fits in that category … 🙂
but given that I was getting off on the Freak Out album 40 years ago it seems more aged than ageless. 😉
Thanks, AndiF! I was sticking my nose into lots of bouquets. The vendors were very nice about it. A bunch of people were there today shooting a raisin commercial. They had their own faux farmer’s market constructed with lots of business going on.
I hope you are going to be posting your pics in the cafe on a regular basis.
I’m going to do my level best.
Great pictures!!!!!
Thanks refinish! It was a gray day so it will be interesting to see what happens with the sun out. As it is most of the time around these parts.
Hi Ya’ll
the traditional Brazilian greeting? 🙂
Yes, but they say it while perfectly tanned and with no errant hairs.
Izat bettah? What can I say? I’m from South Carolina, ya’ll.
How are ya?
Brazilain tans and Southern Fried Chicken.
I love bread — it’s my idea of the perfect desert.
is coming right through the ether.
The Guacamole I mean…
LOL
Bring your song lyrics, booze, bread, and guacamole over here.
