Gunmen kill 3 illegal immigrants in Ariz
TUCSON, Ariz. – Gunmen stopped a pickup truck full of illegal immigrants, shot several and took the rest captive Thursday in an attack that left at least three men dead and two people wounded, authorities said.
Authorities were trying to determine who the gunmen were.
The men shot three people, one fatally, along a known smuggling corridor near Tucson, then forced the six or seven other immigrants in the group to leave with them, Pima County sheriff’s officials said.
The bodies of two of those immigrants were found a few miles north in the cab of the pickup truck that had been carrying the group. The other four or five immigrants had not been found by midday Thursday.

Thursday morning’s attack occurred on a dirt road near the Silverbell Mine, about 20 miles northwest of Tucson, said Rick Kastigar, the Pima County sheriff’s criminal investigations chief.
Kastigar said the immigrants were heading north when four men armed with assault rifles in another vehicle forced the truck to stop. During a confrontation, one man was killed, another was shot in the hand — losing several fingers — and a woman was shot in the neck, Kastigar said.

I never like to comment on breaking news stories because half the time the information is wrong….but this is just the kind of horror story everyone has been expecting due to making immigrants basically fair game by all the rhetoric from the vigilante groups and assholes like Lou Dobbs fanning the flames of hate and misinformation.

I’m so sick of the so-called MSM ‘breaking news’ stories. These human tragedies fall down unnoticed, on a back page or are never mentioned at all: ‘illegals’ are not human beings, are they? No one minds when a criminal or an insurgent got his/her due and is eliminated. We don’t count the dead or wounded. A cowboy in the WH – WTF!
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."and no matter why this happened, people like Dobbs, Tancredo, and the leaders of the Minute Men deserve a huge amount of blame for creating the idea that immigrants don’t deserve to be treated like human beings.
And when will we start holding them accountable as accessory to these crimes?
This is sickening.
time soon here in AZ. The state legislature just defeated a bill in committee, easily and with contempt of the legislator who proposed it, to make it illegal to patrol with a vigilante group. They cited Freedom of Speech, Right to Bear Arms and Freedom of Assembly as their reasoning.
And this is what the rest of us have to deal with.
That is just too sick. I’m so glad I live in the Bay Area where we are passing laws protecting immigrants instead of encouraging people to shoot other people.

i could sure use one. No matter how many times something like this happens, it never fails to rip my heart into shreds. But this is not about me. This is about the failure of a global system to address the needs of many different people from many different nations in a humane way.
So I turned on the news to the cable channels and all that seems to be on is this shit about Anna Nicole Smith dying even to the point that it is ‘breaking fucking news’ for pete’s sake. Every day the ‘news’ proves how low they have sunk. And no I simply can’t bring myself to watch Dobbs.
Everyone. Please. Contact your reps and ask them to support comprehensive immigration reform. These vigilante groups are out of control.

being perfectly honest, I think a dog whistle call has gone out to the white supremacist movements operating in synchronicity with other border vigilante groups. I can’t prove it…yet. But this is not the first incident in the past week. Nor will it be the last as long as the talking heads are allowed to continue to whip up the populace into frothy rage against a (mostly) faceless “invader”

Newbie to this site and this is the first diary I read.
I am absolutely disgusted by the vigilante wannabe redneck racist gun nut freaks who go out to pretend they’re “Dirty Harry” out in the desert.
I sure hope they catch those murdering goons ASAP but I’m not convinced that the local Sheriffs and other authorities around these parts have their priorities straight about what’s best in the public interest.
