Good morning, Andi.
Good thing this is a ‘short’ week.
Not short for me but I’ll be a good sport and be happy for all of you who do have Friday off.
We’ll probably rent a car and head for the Berkshires for a long weekend.
How is your Passover?
Berkshires sounds nice. Hope the weather is good.
Since I’m not a religious Jew, the only thing I do for Passover is a family seder and because of a combination of cirucmstances, we aren’t doing one this year. So I guess I’m passing it over.
curly did a very simplified seder last night. No one was up for the full program.
We long ago stopped doing the rest of the service after “the festive meal”. All the glasses of wine seem to get drunk, though.
Seems like ‘festive meal’ is what most holidays have become. Followed by ‘festive sporting event watching while unbuttoning pants and belching’.
Here is a photograph of a sculpture entitled “Blessing” by a senior at the Art Institute of Chicago named David Cordero:
Obama’s response to the sculpture?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070403/ap_on_el_pr/obama_as_jesus
Clearly Barack Obama knows nothing about the history of political art at the Art Institute of Chicago. And clearly Obama believes art should serve the role of confirming the previous beliefs of the beholder. May I say he is woefully wrong, indeed ignorant?
I thought that was the chocolate Jesus. Very similar actually.
Morning all.
I TOLD you pollen was bad this year. Story
The good news for me is that I came back from vacation with a nasty cold that has moved into my chest (hack, hack) so I’m not going to notice the pollen. 😉
You’d notice it if you swept up big piles of it every day.
well Pete the Sweep just arrived so soon I will have piles of creosote to notice.
Is he cute – or can’t you tell underneat the soot?
Don’t ruin it for me if he’s 68 years old.
Soot? I think you’ve watched mary poppins a few too many times. (He doesn’t have a top hat either).
He’s a very charming, interesting, about-my-age ex-teacher (used to do this as a summer job but made out so well he decided to do it full time).
What a totally beautiful photo, Olivia!
Also, is there anyone on the forum who knows anything about Portland?
I have a sudden serious itch to move there…
Do they need well educated fund-raisers?
I’ve had to make several trips there for work and really liked it. It’s in a very appealing location, especially if you like outdoor activities, it has a great downtown, really good city parks, and the best bookstore (Powell’s). Traffic wasn’t horrible and it does have a light rail system.
