Happy Easter everyone. My cathedral is Yankee Stadium and I will be celebrating the holiday there.
The Sopranos returns tonight. I wonder if the kids are going to have grey hair and beer bellies. It’s been so long since the show last aired.
Here’s an article that seems timely.
What are your plans for the day?
My cathedral was the pre-Steinbrenner Yankee Stadium. George destroyed it when he emasculated left and center fields, supposedly trying to help Dave Winfield hit more home runs.
Nah. Winfield didn’t come to Yanks until four years after the new Yankee Stadium opened.
the ballpark was damaged.
The ’76 refurbishing emasculated the outfield somewhat. Steinbrenner made it even worse by bringing in the fences further in ’88. This is where Winfield was involved. Illustrated here:
After worshipping at your cathedral…come visit mine.
Birdland w/the Chico O’Farrill Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra.
Sets at 9 + 11 PM.
The game starts at 1?
Say 4 hours…? 5PM.
Go have dinnner somewhere, then come hear the first set. You’ll still be back in Philadelphia befoore midnight.
Normally I can get any number of people in sans music charge, but it being Easter…I don’t know for sure. Probably. Unless a tour bus pulls up and disgorges 100+ people or something. Worth the price of admission no matter what. I will guarantee that you have never heard a band like this, because there simply isn’t one.
Email me before noon if you want me to leave your name.

i had sex with my husband (ex) in church once….BVM on baltimore pike…i was doing the flowers for a wedding and after getting everything in the church set up my husband came up behind me and was all touching my butt and stuff…so its all his fault….we went to the back of the church….had sex on a table…and i made him rinse his fingers in the holy water…have i told this story here before? i love the idea people were blessing themselves with my love juices….after the bride went down the aisle we were leaving out the doors and the fire trucks started pulling up…the church was on fire….actually the mulch in the planting area at the base of the front stone wall was on fire….smoke started filling the church…we went back in and grabbed a fire extinguisher…which didnt work…the fire dept put it out.
3 months later the couple was separated because of his alcoholism…and a year later they were back together after he bought a winning lottery ticket….so im not sure if we blessed their union or cursed it.
anyway its aster…im listening to the soundtrack from godspell….i always loved that song Beautiful City….and im taking my kids and husband (EX!!!) out for his 50th birthday dinner to the persian grille, one of my favorite restaurants.
i went to see grindhouse last night…awesome…its like a cross between Faster Pussycat Kill Kill and Blood Sucking Freaks….and i have both those movies and heir movie posters…. so i loved it….but my butt hurt after 4 hours in the theatre seat and i was up till 4am from all that cherry coke.
the girls from BVM wore little beanies on their heads on their way to school….it was part of their uniform…i always thought it was so fashionable…we didnt have beanies at my catholic grade schools.
mmmmm jelly beans.
that is hilarious and blasphemous.
One of the best stories I’ve heard in a long time. the only thing that would have made it better would be if your ex washed his organ in the magic water.
And double kudos for use of the term “love juices.”
What are your plans for the day?
the philly film festival. are you going to anything, boo?
Drink.
Drank.
Drunk.
I’m an atheist, so I’ll pass on the religious schtick, thanks!
I’ll purchase some Easter candy when it’s half price @the grocery store tomorrow….
Need to blog quite a bit over @TMB–not at all caught up, I already baked a pumpkin pie (w/homemade whipped cream…yummy–it’s cooling now); and I don’t know what I’ll have to eat as an “Easter dinner.” Whatever strikes my fancy, I guess!
I just felt like having a pumpkin pie…I’m fully aware that it’s typically served on Turkey Day, but I like it.
There are distinct advantages to being a single empty nester….
My Maine Coon cat (Kiah) will dine on his usual shrimpies (he’s easy); and I need to tint my hair, too.
He’s adopted, BTW.
Bless all the secular progressive heathens in this country–I’m sick and tired of this so-called ‘evangelical shit’.
`No more Iraq war,’ kids cry – Youngsters lead peace parade to Grand Army Plaza
Marchers in this weekend’s peace parade head to Grand Army Plaza.
Go over and read, it’s a good report.
It finally warmed up to about 50 here.
My seven month old grandson gave me a big smile.
A family dinner and then an outside easter egg hunt for the “kids”, even if they are twenty-somethings the eggs were collected in haste and then they pelted each other with silly string. It was too cold for the water guns and other springtime rituals.
The rest of the afternoon was spent with the horses.
A good time was had by all.
