It’s the end of my Karl Rove posting week and none too soon!

Let me get this out of the way: I would feel exactly the same revulsion towards KR if he was a Democratic strategist, period. There’s hardball and then there’s low blow, and KR is a master of the latter. For him, it is most important that the Republican agenda be carried out by hook or crook. Nothing else matters. Neither methods, nor damage–just results.

From his days casting a shiv in the back of the Alabama jurist who poured his time into bettering conditions for youth–and was rewarded with a Rovian campaign casting him as a pedophile–to attacking John Kerry–a true American war hero–to the overbearing fear and loathing 2004 presidential campaign mantra that Al-Queda is going to kill your children unless Bush-Cheney are re-elected, KR has repeatedly displayed his willingness to stop at nothing, regardless of the damage his strategies inflict on individuals and country. His use of unjustified terror alerts to continue priming the pump of anxiety is but one example. His involvement in exposing Valerie Plame another. The choices were George Bush or America and KR made known his level of patriotism.
Karl Rove is simply a domestic terrorist. He began early in his political career and he continues to this day. Here are two definitions for those who feel such a charge is too harsh or inappropriate:

* a person who terrorizes or frightens others

* a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities

If the shoe fits…

And George Bush’s choice to ride shotgun alongside KR is indicative of Bush’s perverted piety. That he would welcome pairing up with someone as deviant as KR spells out that Bush’s spiritual beliefs–if they actually exist–are transcended by his unquenchable neediness for the vainglorious temporal. His at-all-cost political pursuit of a carnal political Holy Grail required hooking up with a profane degenerate. Bush did so gladly and continues to collaborate. The supremely egocentric Bush has also unfortunately now also morphed into the egomaniacal one, an indulgence we truly can no longer afford.

So, who is more deserving: is George Bush or Karl Rove the American Judas?
