It would be easy to blame Republicans, and Republican Presidents, for the slow erosion of the right to choose first enunciated in the Supreme Court’s historic decision, Roe v. Wade. Republican Presidents after all, nominated all but two of the Justices now sitting on the Supreme Court. So it would be easy to direct all of our ire at the Republicans for the decisions in Gonzales v. Carhart, which is the most significant limitation on a woman’s right to choose, and which presages more limitations to come.
