This is a hit and run. I’ll probably be gone for a long time this time. I spilled punch on my laptop and I can’t even get it to power up. I’ve uplugged it and did everything I can think of, but it won’t go.
So, I don’t know when I’ll be back. This really sucks.

I spilled water – not punch…but we took it apart and let it dry for months and then it worked again. Maybe a couple days would be enough but we just didn’t check for a long time because we were convinced it was dead.
If you spill something other than water in an electronic device, the best thing to do is uplug it and then submerge it if clean water (I use the bath tub). Rinse it as best you can while keeping the water pressure low, preferably with the case open, and then use a blow dryer on it’s lowest setting to dry it completely. Let dry overnight or better before plugging it back in.
Also, you can use rubbing alcohol (unsented) to disperse water from electronic components. The alcohol evaporates quickly and completely. Of course, when working with plastics make sure they are not of a type that will be harmed by alcohol by testing a spot first.
