Just to follow up on Steven’s post this morning about the Blue Dog coalition: all of the following Blue Dogs, except the ones that are struck out, voted against James McGovern’s Out of Iraq bill. Notice that my friend Patrick Murphy did not vote with the Blue Dogs. Also, notice that the California caucus largely went with their Speaker. The bill failed 171-255.

Clearly, the Blue Dogs held firm on and refused to allow the caucus to be divided.
Well at least they obeyed Pelosi on the vote the leadership wanted.
I stand somewhat corrected.
it’s actually Aravosis that stands corrected. It was his source.
Good on Patrick. Now, if he could convince the rest of the Blue Dogs of the errors of their ways…
I spoke to the office today before the vote and they assured me Patrick would vote the right way.
I am, as usual, pleased with Pat Murphy.
Now, if someone can find a way to get Chris Carney shipped to back to Baghdad…
I never doubted Patrick. You know him. Did you really doubt him either?
As for Carney, he has Sherwood’s district. I repeat, he has Sherwood’s district.
Did I mention that he has Sherwood’s district?
If you expect him to vote like a progressive, you never understood the minor, and more likely temporary, miracle that allowed us to win the PA-10.
Michaud seems to have voted for the McGovern amendment and against the “short lease” bill. That would put him in the same camp as the Progressives in terms of reasoning for voting against the “short lease” bill. Which means that only one Democrat, John Tanner of TN, is actually in favor of giving Bush a blank check.
What an amazing show of unity!
blah, I meant “leash,” not “lease.” That’s what I get for posting at 2am.
Michaud voted against the McGovern amendment.
Oops. No he didn’t. More coffee please.
