New thread for you all to enjoy!
Thanks for the thread and nice picture CG. What kind of tree did you get today?
What a great picture!
Agree! Where is that?
Great picture, CG — I’m assuming that CBtE took it.
Pretty much another drive by for me today. Got lots to do.
Hope everybody has an enjoyable day.
Good morning Andi.
Maybe on Monday when you get back to work, you can get some rest. 🙂
Good morning, Andi and FM!
Quiet, solitary morning at the ask residence. Crisp (51), beautiful day outside.
Good morning ask.
It’s a comfortable 68 outside right now. Sounds like you’re having a very slackerly weekend. Good for you.
I need slackery.
Got the nasty cold that swimmer had earlier in the week. Sore throat, stuffed head and a fever (much better today, though).
You have a full house this weekend?
Sorry to hear about the cold. FMom woke up with a sore throat yesterday. I’m waiting to see how she is today.
I was expecting a full house, but things changed all of a sudden. We’re all meeting at my nieces house today. It’s good and bad. Good because the house is empty here and bad because it’s a two hour round trip to the nieces house.
So you have a project!
And the empty house does you no good while away!
OK, over to rf’s cafe.
Come to the cafe Happy Mother’s Day at the Froggy Bottom
Good morning everyone.
I would say another beautiful day, but it’s still dark here.
It’s Monday so it can’t be beautiful — no superlatives for Mondays.
I beg to differ. You forget that everyday is Saturday to me. 🙂
How was your busy weekend?
Not bad, except all the effort spent pretending to be a nice person was kind of exhausting. 😉
Poor Andi. The sacrifices you make. 🙂
Yeah, especially getting up on Monday mornings.
Yeah I know, but one day you’ll be retired and look back.
Then you’ll think to yourself, “God I should have retired years ago.” 🙂
I already think that all the time.
Unfortunately, it’s always followed by the thought “but I have to eat” …
… and then the dogs join in with “who cares about you — we have to have our dog biscuits”.
Food is always a big consideration, especially for the dogs. Heck you and Jim can get by on a few nuts and berries, but the dogs have to eat. 🙂
And the dogs also have to go for walks in the woods — as they are pointing out to me right now.
See ya later.
See ya Andi.
Have a good, well as good as possible, Monday.
Another excellent segue into your morning trek!
A whole weekend pretending you are a nice person?….imagine how hard it’s been for me pretending for 5 years in a new marriage. I think it’s time to be myself now. 🙂
Morning SN.
Well there goes my image of you. 🙂
Your adoration had to squashed sooner or later, FM.
How’s Mom doing this morning?
She said her throat is still very sore and that she’s not feel well again. So now I have to try and get her going this morning to see the doctor.
I’m supposed to be in B’ham for a few days starting tomorrow, so I don’t know at the moment if I will have to cancel that appointment. Hope not, it’s already been canceled once.
I still have a nasty cold and the beauty in that is to get to stay home on a Monday.
I hope you feel better really fast so you can enjoy not being at work.
Hi ask.
I hope you get to feeling better too. Good for you on the staying home. You need to slack as much as possible and get to feeling better.
I think you’re right. Beautiful Monday morning picture.
If a tree falls in the woods, and Andi is there to hear it, does it mean she should be working?
I hate being around when trees are falling (well not little ones like that but big ones) — it’s pretty scary to hear that sound of something big falling and not know where it is and then when it doesn’t fall on your head, it’s sad to think of the death of the tree. So maybe I’d rather be working.
… which is a segue into the fact that I ought to be working.
I hate it when ya’ll use words I have to look up. I bet SN has been wanting to use the word segue for a few weeks now. 🙂
Good morning, Andi, FM and SN!
Still congested and sneezing. I’ll stay home today.
Hi ask, see above.
SN I think it means that Andi was out dodging falling trees and was lucky not to get smashed.
I’ve got to get going. Got a lot of things to get done today.
See ya’ll later.
and boo hoo.
I’ve got another trip today through Friday. I wanna be retired like FM. Wah and wah some more.
Morning, Andi!
Sorry to hear that – you’ve really been a road warrior lately.
My cough is still nasty, I may have another day at home in me.
I hope you start feeling better soon.
Yeah, I’m finally getting payback for a year and a half with almost no travel. And I’ve got two more trips coming up between now and mid-June — definitely feeds my already strong desire to be a retiree when I grow up.
..definitely feeds my already strong desire to be a retiree when I grow up.
Strange how attractive that option seems.
Where are you headed this time?
Menlo Park, Ca.
But first headed out for a walk with the dogs.
Hi Andi and Ask.
It’s Tuesday evening here.
Luna fell in the Derwent river today. She’s a bit damp and dirty still. I’ll cover this more in detail in the Dog Blog. Other than that, it was a pretty ordinary day.
Morning, keres.
Poor thing! Looking forward to a dramatic rescue story in coming dog blog.
Hi keres.
Poor Luna. Did you jump in after her?
Nothing dramatic, and “rescue” amounted to grabbing her by the harness and lifting her back onto the dock she fell off of. She’s a big girl, but not so big I can’t lift her. I don’t think she’s ever swam before, so she was a bit freaked out by being in water over her head, but other than that it was not too traumatic an experience.
Unfortunately, she was still damp when we got home, and now she’s a mudball asleep on the couch.
I don’t blame her if she has never been in deep water. I see a trip to the dog wash coming up. 🙂
Morning Andi and ask.
Sorry about you trip Andi. ask take another day off.
Good morning, FM.
ask take another day off.
Might do that. Big plans today in your neck of the woods?
No plans here. I was supposed to be gone for a few days, but I think FMom has a bad cold like you. So I’ll be here until she feels better.
I had a boss once that no matter how you felt, you were going to be in the office. I never saw the sense in that.
I never saw the sense in that.
How silly is that; testing the immune response of the rest of the staff?
It was a small office, so if one person had a cold or the flu, then we all caught it. The odd thing about this boss was that he wouldn’t let us take sick days, but he would call in with the slightest sniffles.
Bye FM, keres, and ask. I’m late for my walk.
I wouldn’t have believed it, but we’ve got smoke from the fires in GA/FL. Yesterday morning when I took George out, I thought we might be starting to have some fires around here, but the local news today said it was from those fires. I just heard on the news that the smoke might be hitting TX by tomorrow.
You can save money on cigarettes while the smoke is hanging over your house. 🙂
Just not the same for some reason. 🙂
How’re ya doing today?
Just peachy, FM. Got some appts. for today but otherwise the day is clear – just the way I like them.
Hope your mom is feeling better.
Sounds like after the appts. it will be a slackerly day.
Thanks.
about having to go to California.
I get to be the first one to say
she’s sleeping, but I’ll make sure she gets a piece of that cake.
Thank you!!!
The day is off to a great start already. 🙂
and hope the rest of day is even better.
Happy Birthday CG and MM.
Good morning, FM!
Happy Birthday to CG, mm and all celebrating today.
Good morning ask.
How are you feeling today?
Thanks, it’s better!
I may even have to go to work…
If it’s only better, then you can squeeze in another day at home. 🙂
I wish 🙂
But better get going!
See you all.
Thanks! (I’m having a ‘zero’ birthday this year)
Thanks, FM!
You’re more than welcome CG.
Hope your B’day tree is doing good.
Is it too early for ice cream?
Good morning Andi.
I don’t know if MM is around, but I’ll answer for her. It’s never too early for ice cream. 🙂
How’s working in the beige room going?
No beige room yet — that starts this morning.
And Happy Birthday to the luscious pond women, CG and MM.
Good morning SN.
Is this a case of one luscious calling the other luscious? 😉
Extra brownie points for you, FM. 🙂
Thank you. I thought I might be running low on those. 🙂
Big plans today?
No plans at all…just taking things as they come. I got a shipment of new CDs so I’ll blast those and maybe I’ll get inspired to work around the house a little bit. Nah.
Yep nothing better than a completely slackerly day.
But it will take me all morning just to open 4 CDs.
Hey you are in the South aren’t ya. We do things at a slower pace down here. 🙂
I’ve noticed. I better go and get my empty, slackerly day started or I’ll be late doing nothing.
Empty! What are you talking about? You’ve got four CD cases to open.
Enjoy and see ya.
Since I am, sadly, not out walking with the dogs, I can be around to say “Good Morning”
Morning back atcha. Wow, you’re up early.
Isn’t there an old say about you can take the person out of the time zone, but you can’t take the time zone out of the person. Well at least not for a couple of days.
Unfortunately, what I tend to do is go to bed on the local time zone and get up on the home one. Ah well, sleep is overrated.
And when you get old your life is mainly catnaps anyway. 😛
if you go to sleep while they are talking to you.
That’s one way to get early retirement. The dogs would thank you.
keep them supplied with dog biscuits.
Toothpicks or invisible tape. Just prop those eyelids open and most the time they’ll never notice.
Actually, I am a pro at staying awake in front of customers, no matter how exhausted I am. I just fall apart the second I’m done for the day.
You know I used to pride myself on that. When I used to have to attend really boring meetings, no matter how tired I was, my eyes were wide open and I would be listening. Actually it was more fun to see if anyone was nodding off or full out asleep.
I’ve got to get some pre-work work done and get some breakfast so I’m outta here. Ta.
Ah well, sleep is overrated.
I beg to differ.
local time but that’s a hour and a half later than normal in “home time” so it could’ve been worse (got about 5 hours sleep).
I love it when you call me luscious… 🙂
Hi! I think we need a new cafe, but there are birthday greetings in here for mythmother…shall I wait?
107 is kinda of large. Anyway you can import MM’s B’day greeting over?
Do you mind just reposting? I’m not sure how well copying and pasting the comments will work.
No problem with me CG.
CG and mm!
Thanks!
(I’m going to change the cafe now, so you may want to re-post so mm can see it!)
