Walkin’ the dog, walkin’ the dog . . .
Our new favorite place to walk is the “Queen’s Domain” in Hobart. It’s the greater part of a hill that has been set aside as a park, botanical garden, and sports facilities.
From the Domain you get a great view of Hobart and of the Derwent River. It’s also very popular with dogs and their people. Today Luna had great fun romping with a “Staffy” (Staffordshire Terrier).
is the birds.
This is an Eastern Rosella. They live in small groups and are found in the lower elevations of Tasmania.
They feed mainly on grass seeds an are frequently seen foraging on the groud.
Hi keres.
Luna looks very regal in that picture. The Eastern Rosella and the picture you took are both magnificent.
Hi FM. You don’t think the “regal” pose is somewhat lessened by the slobber that she managed to shake up onto her muzzle?
Eastern Rosellas are one of those birds that you’d think someone made up if you hadn’t seen one in person. The fact that they’ll graze only ten yards from Luna and I makes them even more amazing.
Luna would look regal even after having a mud bath. π
That is amazing that they graze so close to ya’ll. I think for something like that, even I might have to start snapping pictures.
It’s really hard not to take my camera everywhere I go. It seems like everytime I leave it home I encounter some spectactular creature or scenery that just cries out to be photographed.
It’s a hazard for we photographers to always be viewing the world through a “lense”.
My problem is when I do take my camera, I find that I forget to put back in the memory card. Really annoying sometimes. π
Yes, that would be. <rollseyes>
At least I’m remembering to take the camera. I figure in a couple of years I’ll be ready to take pictures, and find I’ve forgotten the camera too.
LOL. Ah, senility.
One of my favorite saying is: “Of all the things Ive lost, I miss my mind the most.”
I’ve never heard that, but I like it.
Good morning (evening), keres!
What incredible colors on that bird.
And yet, they are nowhere near as magnificent in a photo as they are in real life. It is hard not to get jadded living here.
I can always take a job someone deep in melbourne or sydney suburbia.
you know, just to ensure you stay appreciative. π
Just to the east of Hobart is Mt. Wellington (shrouded in clouds).
Keres, I haven’t been able to resist making use of your pony.
that’s hilarious.
As soon as I saw that commercial I knew I had to do something. First draft, of course. This is going to get much worse before it gets better.
I’m happy to contibute my small effort to the cause greater hilarity.
Yes, it’s a turvey topsy world. While you in the north are moving into summer, we in the south are lighting fires and huddling round them.
Maybe just a smidge too cozy for Albert’s liking.
This is Luna’s “see, I’m being good and not hassling the bunny” pose. Which is usually followed closely thereafter by Albert retreating to his bunny fortress (under the kitchen table).
Hi keres.
There’s nothing ever wrong with being cozy.
Albert is the King of Cozy, but he generally prefers his cozy spaces to be dog free.
That’s quite the size difference … great perspective for that shot too.
Luna is about twenty times bigger than Albert. Albert makes up for that by having mcuh more attitude than Luna.
