Jail time that is. And a $250,000 fine to boot:
Former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby Tuesday was sentenced to 30 months in prison for his role in hopes of avoiding prison in the CIA leak case.
Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, is the highest-ranking official convicted of a crime since the Iran Contra affair.
“When you transgress the law, there are consequences,” U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton told Libby.
Consequences for breaking the law? What a concept! By the way, when does the Scooter Libby Pardon Watch start?
