Good morning!
Good morning CG.
Nice and airy in here. Now all I need is a couple of pots of coffee.
Good morning, CG and FM!
I linked to the Bush Impersonator in another comment yesterday, but it will probably get more visibility here.
Absolutely hilarious.
That kid is good! If you closed your eyes you would think it is Georgie.
New mattress….curses. When am I going to stop feeling like I’m sleeping in a motel?
Good morning everyone.
Good morning SN.
I thought one of them new store bought mattresses were supposed to make you sleep good.
It don’t make me sleep good. Varmints lied to me.
Morning, FM…I’ll take some of that there coffee.
Next time don’t buy a mattress from some scalawag. 🙂
I’ve told you before to have a bunch of geese in the back yard and a row or two of corn. That way you can replace the stuffing as needed.
I was thinking this morning about those fancy French Press machines, and I thought once my Mr. Coffee was done that I would be waiting three times as long for my first cup if I went fancy. 🙂
I got a variation on the Westin Heavenly bed last summer…it took a couple of months to break it in, but now it’s the comfiest thing evah.
All I need now is the Pacific Feather Serenity pillows…CBtE is getting one of those for his birthday.
It was a fine, fine morning walk — the hot day (90s — ick) hasn’t arrived yet.
Good morning all. Poor SN, I sure you’ll get used to that bed. Ours is some kind of special unyielding slab that I finally got comfortable with. Madame boran got it, I can’t remember the brand. Now she hates it. Go figure.
Heh. “Unyielding slab’ with a pit in the middle would have described my old mattress…
How is the missus this morning?
Still hurting but back at work, thanks. How are things at the cabin?
Settling back down after a hectic couple of weeks. Looking forward to the end of the school year, for obvious reasons.
Is anyone around this evening? I’m taking a bit of a grading break.
I am…are you almost done for the year?
I hope you’re getting real close to a very long grading break. Jim’s been done since last Friday.
and not a day too soon.
Amen!
Got any big plans?
We have another baseball playoff game tomorrow, but that’s the only thing we’re definitely doing so far.
My niece is coming in from NYC and my mom is coming down so Saturday we’re going out to dinner. Sunday I have to leave to go out of town for work and will be gone till Friday night — blecch.
Good luck on the game.
curly is packed and just about to head for the airport. There’s a convention in Chicago until Tuesday – she’s not too thrilled, either.
I’m about to depart too but to a much happier location — morning in the woods.
My empathies to curly.
And what is she going to….
NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2007 – sounds ominous, wonder what they trade in these neocons….
NeoCon World sounds like a rightwing theme park.
Those long trips are a drag.
Have fun with the niece and your mom.
What a breathtaking picture up top!
It’s Friday and I’m In Wichita starting my vacation with good friends, leaving Sunday for Lake Hamilton near Hot Springs, Ar, and too much laughing for days on end.
Have a great weekend everyone. . .See ya in a couple of weeks.
Hugs,
Shirl
Good morning, shirl!
Hope you have a great time vacationing.
Thanks, I’m a doin it. With these friends it is hard to imagine that it could be any better. While I’m dangling my toes in the lake I’ll be thinking of Froggy land. . . or something. hehehehe
Splash!
Enjoy – and send us some updates, if you can.
Have a great vacation Shirl!
Thanks CG. . .it is sure to be awesome. Our times togeather always are. It is hard to believe that anyone can laugh as much as we do.
Kissing Tadpoles. . .wheeeeeeeeeee
Hope you have a great vacation, Shirl. (And thanks for the compliment on the picture.)
Having a fabulous time, Andi and it will only get better. Your pictures are just the best. I love them.
Lilly pad hoping. . .here I come.
Glad to hear it. And I’m heading off to see if I get some more pics (and make the dogs stop driving me crazy).
See ya.
Good morning everyone.
I hope the day is starting well. I’m waiting for coffee.
Good morning, FM!
I’m on my second cup, busy day coming up – but then weekend.
Morning ask.
That’s what always makes Friday seem so long. You’re just waiting to get it over so the weekend can start.
Good morning all! I had trouble getting here ealier, was there a problem with the server?
Good morning (just), boran!
Yup, last I tried – about an hour ago – “Server Error”.
Thanks, ask. I thought that maybe it was the evil overlords here at work.
Good morning, Andi!
A glimmer of optimism.
Yep, captured the proverbial ray of sunshine. And it was a fairly difficult shot so I’m rather pleased with myself.
Good morning Andi and ask.
No rays coming down here, but soon.
Truth in photography: that picture was from yesterday.
Although sunrise here was about an hour ago.
We have cloud cover so it’s diffusing down through here. We even got a little rain yesterday.
We had a huge storm right to the west of us yesterday and right when it go to us, it parted in two and we ended up getting nothing but a couple of drops. Kinda weird.
We had a bit of rain in town and after, it cooled down quite nicely. I should get out the rain gauge for the garden.
I agree with ask. Nice job.
Good morning Andi, ask, Family Man! Its a lovely day in southern Indiana.
It is nice. Especially since it’s not nearly as hot.
Looks like we’re having a classic car cruise-in in our front yard again today. There are no parking cones all down the street.
Good day for a lemonade stand?
I’m thinking a beer keg and some brats. I once flew with a command pilot from Madison, WI who said brats without beer was a crime against nature.
A very wise man.
He was a fun guy and a great pilot. He had done 2 tours in Nam in Hueys and lived to fly.
Sounds like fun, but do you get tired of the high traffic that goes along with it?
We used to live on the path of this bike race (although not The Wall, thank goodness). It was fun as long as you knew to get your car outside the race loop the night before so you’d still be free to come and go on race day.
Good morning ID.
It’s nice here at the moment, but we’re supposed to get up to 94 today and day after tomorrow to 97. Summer is definitely down here.
I lived in south Florida for about ten years and remember the summers, with attendant humidity, very well. It always seemed very strange to a midwest kid to be planting garden in February. It was fun growing okra down there, its something I’ve never attempted up north.
Yep it takes awhile to get used to the heat and humidity down here. I used to hate okra in the garden. It’s not like you just go out and pick it. I’m not a big okra eater except in stews or fried. Hated it boiled. [As he make upchucking sounds. :)]
I’m not a big fan either. It was more the novelty of the stuff than anything. Our neighbors used to grow lots of eggplant, so there was no need for me to bother with that.
I used to get sewage sludge from the city treatment plant to try to build up the sandy soil in the garden and found that cherry tomato and yellow summer squash seeds survive the treatment process quite nicely. There were also other little gifts that came with the sludge, like scores of swizzle sticks and cocktail umbrellas. It was like opening a Crackerjack box, in a way.
Now that’s something I haven’t had in a long time, is eggplant. I might have to pick some up.
We hit 95 yesterday. I am so not ready for sweltering heat.
Maybe I’ll get to go the pool sometime this week, though.
Morning CG.
When it’s in the 90’s I don’t get out of the house unless I have to.
I did flip on the AC in the afternoon. The humidity has been really bad.
Got a bunch of stuff today since I’m going out of town for work Sunday-Friday. 🙁
Hope everybody has an enjoyable day.
Have a fun day!
Have a relaxing weekend. Hi to Jim.
Hi CabinGirl! How’s things out east?
George is whining, so I’d better get going.
Have a good day in the pond.
Try to stay cool;-)
Hi Folks. Wanted to first give an update on my situation to those who have been worried. I am sleeping on the floor( on an air mattress) at a friend’s place and even have a job interview on Wed. Things are going slowly but at least in the right directions.
I will be attending the Gay Pride Festival in Austin, Texas today and working as a volunteer at the John Edwards booth. I will add that he is the only Presidential Candidate to think it was important enough to have a booth at Pride!!!
This is the shirt I will be wearing today and also again on Tuesday when I see him here in Austin.
John Edwards in 2008
Good morning, rf!
Good to see your update.
Its really good to see you here in the pond! Please keep hangin’ in there!
Go Edwards!!!
I’m so glad you stopped by and so sorry I missed you.
Good luck on the interview.
Glad to read this, RF.
It got up to 96 with a heat index of 103. Wind gust to 21 mph. George is shedding so bad that when I took him out, he looked like a 4 footed dandelion when the wind blew against him. If only it would blow the rest of the hair away.
I’m ready for a beer.
so just a drive-by Hi and Bye.
A drive-by at 5.15?
Good morning, Andi!
Hi/bye Andi and Good morning ask.
Good morning, FM!
Another grey, muggy day here, though a bit cooler.
Quiet weekend, curly away, oldest asklet preparing for final exams. Only the youngest one here, still blissfully asleep.
We’re expecting another very hot day. They’re predicting a 105 heat index. I looked at the months outlook, and our highs are all in the 90’s, and it isn’t even July yet.
Thanks the FSM for air conditioning.
I hope that everyone is having a pleasant sunday. It’s been overcast here all weekend, with brief glimpses of the sun.
