From the moment we wake in the morning to the time our eyes close each night, we are subjected to an onslaught of, of, well, uh, bullshit.
First, there is a groggy visit to the American Standard display room, the Gleaming White tooth cleaner and Minty bottle of mouthwash. Next a quick dip in the Sugar Coated bowl, washed down with the Eight o’Clock Coffee, and off to a Quick Stop for the Best Petroleum products money can buy. All this continues until the last GE lightbulb is turned off, not to mention, the Six Billion messages served to us in between.
And somehow, for the most part, we move around this planet without insanely lashing out in a display of sheer mental short circuitry. Sure, out of the billions of us bumping into each other each and every day, there are the occasional outbursts, as selected and shown to us, for our viewing pleasure, by our Fair and Balanced purveyors of the Fourth Estate. And yet, somehow, we manage to laugh and cry, and love one another, just the same.
It is the indomitable spirit of Humanity to survive. The Iraqi children collecting spent shell casings off their rubble strewn streets, the morning after the usual evening’s firefight displays, to use for playtime activity, have that spirit. The migrant workers, scaling fences, and daring the Desert, they have that spirit. The children of Africa, with their full bellies (not from Sugar Pops, that’s for sure), and two mile walks for their daily bacteria laden water supply…well, maybe their spirit is a little broken.
Anyways, Today it’s Good Morning to You America. After I wash down some Tylenol, with a cool refreshing bottle of Dannon Spring Water, I think I’ll blog some more…..maybe someone is listening.
Note: Christ! How much longer do we have to keep this up?
