Happy Blogosphere Day!!

Today is Blogosphere Day. It’s the day, each year, when the blogosphere bands together to raise money for a cause or candidate. The first Blogosphere Day was held in 2004, in an effort to defeat Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-08). It didn’t work, but it softened him up enough that Patrick Murphy was able to take him out last year. In 2005, the day was reserved for insurgent candidate Paul Hackett. That, too, did not work…but it came shockingly close and the Dems are now competitive in Ohio’s second district. Last year the day was dedicated to Ned Lamont, who went on to trounce Joe Lieberman out of the Democratic Party…albeit, not the U.S. Senate.

In all three of these efforts the money was raised through ActBlue. ActBlue has revolutionized how money is raised in American elections. So, in their honor, this year’s Blogosphere Day is set aside to raise money for ActBlue. You can donate here.

I’m setting up my own ActBlue page here and I’d appreciate any advice on candidates that deserve inclusion.
