I am leaving today to visit my sister in Colorado who is being treated for breast cancer. As this is her favorite aunt, my daughter will be going with me. So far my sister’s prognosis is good, but you never know. Just as many of other people with cancer live with their own fears and doubts, even after they have completed their treatments and been advised that they are cancer free.
So, if you have a few spare pennies in your pocket, consider contributing to one of the following charities:
Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Or you may contribute to any other cancer related charity of your choice. This is hardly an exclusive list.
I will be absent from Booman Tribune until after Labor Day, unless I can borrow one of my relatives computers for the heretical act of posting at a librul blog. Still, you’re in good hands with Booman, Natasha, Clammyc and Terrance. Enjoy the rest of your August everyone, and I’ll see you in September.

I’ve learned that in the past two years. My husband’s prognosis is great–after a horrendous treatment. But he lives with that “moonshadow” behind his eyes. So special warm thoughts to your family and everyone who survives to support another day.
We’ll miss you, Steven.
All the best to your sister. I’m sure that a visit with you and your daughter is the best medecine she could get.
Have a safe journey.
Hope for nothing but the best.
Just watch your sisters’ eyes when she sees her niece!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now That is the BESTEST medicine!! Safe trip and lets all take a moment and ponder. All tge best to you and your sister.

Steve–
all the best prayers, hopes and thoughts for you, your sister, and the rest of your family.
… but don’t worry about us.
Many wishes for your sister’s speedy and complete recovery will be going with you. So, enjoy her company and be well, yourself.
Our thoughts are with your family. Cancer is no respecter of persons, it is an equal opportunity disease. I know it takes a tremendous toll. Not only the person stricken but on the entire circle of family and friends.
My mother in law is a survivor of two bouts with breast cancer and a diagnosis of lung cancer. She had a mastectomy a year and a half ago after a recurrence which came 10 years after her first cancer diagnosis. They also removed part of her lung at that time.
Amazingly, she is doing pretty well but with every follow up visit you hold your breath. Cause even when the doctor says “cancer free”, you never are really “free”. It seems like it’s always there, in the background. A demon lurking in the shadows.
We hope and pray for strength for you and all of your family.
Have a safe trip, Steve. You are truly an awesome brother to go visit your sister with your daughter. The treatments for breast cancer get better and better, though still difficult to go through. I wish the best for you and your family.
Steven a safe trip for you and your daughter. There isn’t much I can say that will ease your mind so I can only hope that your sister will be well and the whole family will survive the mind games cancer plays on you.
All the best to you and your family. My mom is a survivor and has been cancer free for 27 years now. I’m hoping it will be the same for your sister.
((((Good thoughts)))
My sister also, after breast cancer when she was only 30…and is now in her mid 50’s. I know we hear about so many dying from breast cancer yet their are many many more who did go on and have lived full lives.
Best wishes to your sister and have a great trip. My sister-in-law had Breast Cancer when she was pregnant with her third, a girl. She is doing fine, as is her twenty six year old daughter, our youngest niece. Soon we will be off to her wedding! Here is hoping for the same for your sister.
Steven, Madame boran has been cancer free for 3 years now. I wish your sister a speedy treatment, and good health.
Best wishes to your sister Steven and have a safe trip!
