They play chess while we play checkers.
An Iranian university has invited U.S. President George W. Bush to speak about such issues as the Holocaust, terrorism and human rights.
Iran’s Fars news agency reports Ferdowsi University in the northeastern city of Mashhad asked Mr. Bush to attend a question and answer session with students and professors.
The White House says it is not taking the invitation “too seriously.”
Bush is too inept to travel abroad. Every single time he leaves this country he winds up humiliating himself. Every time. He peered into Putin’s soul. He molested the German chancellor. He crashed his bike in Scotland. He couldn’t find the exit in China. He almost fell off the stage in Australia. Under no circumstances should he be allowed to go to Iran. He’d probably drown.
… and that would be a bad thing how, exactly?
tsk tsk.
I say let him address the Iranians.
I’m sure he will come across with as much class and poise as Ahmedinajad.
Not.
Ye gods. Could you imagine it…
Nope. I can’t even imagine what it would be like. Bush won’t even appear in front of hostile crowds here in the US.
They could probably just get that guy from Saturday Night Live. He’d probably do a better job.
He’d probably make some opening remark about not being able to speak “Iranian.”
Or he’d express surprise that they have mountains when all he expected was sand.
Look. Partisan politics aside, some of us liberals liked Gerry Ford. He was a nice guy, even though he was a stumbler and prone to embarrassing accidents. You must at least make it clear that you are not damning all accident prone presidents which would include Gerry Ford.
Bush’s accidents are accidents of the mind. Gerry’s were accidents of the body. Everyone got it now?
