Wednesday is Halloween, when children dress up in costume and beg for candy (and cause revenge if they don’t get it) in the classic Trick Or Treat mode. It is the time when the most evil of monster films inhabit the cinemas and when regular television series like CSI give us especially monstrous criminals.
It is my guess that Halloween is also the number one holiday for the White House monsters like Cheney and Rice and Bush… the monsters who peremptorily strike before getting their oily treats from smaller countries.
These monsters use scary things like waterboarding (not a torture mind you, but an ok gambit when done by the right people for the right reasons, as monster-in-line Giuliani says… And probably when using the right water… tap water is soooo non torturous.) And they maintain haunted facilities at Gitmo and other places to carry out their fun.
I can just imagine the costumes of choice at the White House Staff Halloween Party … how many of them come as Cheney in hunting gear? And bobbing for reporters… a great game!
For an Administration based on fear, what holiday could be more appropriate?
